If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
This years class seems to have lots of potential at WR and all the free agent WR that can be #1s other than Vjax got tagged. So let's assume we still have a 2nd by the time draft rolls around and we pick a wr.
Also, Let's assume that Floyd and Blackmon are off the board. I think all the others have a possibility to slip to the second around at least after Wright's 40 time. Hill: Impressive combine, biggest concern is the learning curve. Streeter: Hankerson's old teammate. One breakout year. Jeffery: Looked at one point to be a certain first rounder but concerns about weight, speed, and work ethic. Sanu: One breakout year, not at elite athlete. Randle: Disappeared in games against good DB's but good size and speed. Wright: RG3's big play guy but ran awful 40 for someone considered a deep ball Djax type. Others: Toon, Criner, Jones, Quick, etc.. |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Dwight Jones, but I think his stock might have slipped during the Senior Bowl, to where we can get him in the 3rd round possibly. I really have a good feeling on Dwight Jones, seems like a slightly more athletic Anquan Boldin type. I hope the skins nab him in the 3rd round. I think he could make an instant impact.
He put up excellent numbers at UNC with subpar QB play that was more oriented to the run than it ever was to the pass. I think he is this years under the radar guy that could blow up into an All Pro in 1 or 2 years possibly. |

re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
How about Chris Owusu from Stanford? He had a really nice combine, and has good size.
|
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Kendall Wright
Joe Adams |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I wouldn't touch Alshon Jeffrey. These guys who come in with work ethic issues seem to never pan out.
|
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Randle or Jones. Both possibly could be had in the 3rd. When Randle was recruited he was called the next AJ Green. Having Jordan Jefferson as a QB hurt him a lot. Could be a sleeper.

He's one concussion from being brain dead for the rest of his life..No |

Yeah I saw that- he had 3 in college. He's like the WR version of Jhavid Best. |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Perhaps Kendall Wright will run a much faster 40 at his pro day. His combine time just seems odd. He seems to play so much faster.

True, I remember Gary Clark wasn't that fast either, yet he was arguably our best deep threat receiver ever. I believe Wright will fall to the second round. I really like Tommy Streeter though. Can't go wrong with a big WR from the U. |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I like Kendall Wright. I thought Alshon Jeffery would be worth it earlier but questions about his work ethic and his combine prep have really scared me off. If he can't be convinced to work hard to show off his skills in front of the NFL at the Combine how can he be convinced to work hard to be one of the best wideouts in the league?

re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Stephen Hill is 6'4 215 and ran a 4.36 40, tied for 1st in the broad jump, and had the 5th highest vertical at the combine. He also had probably the single best diving catch at the combine. Acompany all those measurables with his 28 ypr in college and this guy has everything us skins fans want in a #1 WR!
1. Big, physical, jump ball redzone target 2. Speed, create seperation at the line, take the top off of defense 3. Demand double teams while forcing one on ones for our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th guys. |

On the pro level, that translates to the question of how quickly he can contribute. That said, someone may reach a bit (Patriots?) and snag him late 1st.... |

Alshon Jeffrey is a fatty. He did a good job of losing weight to pass the eye test at the combine, but there's a reason he found an excuse not to run. Far left- http://www.frumpzilla.com/image_gallery/Alshon-Jeffrey-Is-Fat.jpg |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I would go with Stephen Hill from what i understand we where talking to him prior to the combine, so interest must of been there already IMO.

Is he a workout warrior or a football player that didn't get thrown to cause of a crappy offensive system or both? |

He's clearly not good enough to be picked in the top 2/3 of the draft and nobody picking in the bottom 1/3 is dumb enough to waste a pick like that. |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I dont think Hill will last until the 2nd either but he was listed in the beginning of the thread and there is just as much chance of him falling to the high 2nd as Wright. I know his body of work is limited but so was Demarius Thomas and that kid really started hitting his stride towards the end of the year. You cant teach height nor speed and this dude has both! You can teach route running and technique which this kid may need. I do believe most of us want to draft the future QB in this draft and if we do lets draft a potential stud to grow with him who just so happens to have combine measurables comparable to Marques Colston and Kenny Britt. Ill take it all day if he falls!!!

Great read on my boy!! |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
1. Stephen Hill- Although he is a lock for the Patriots IMO, I'll play your game
2. Juron Criner- Senior with size and skills 3. Ryan Broyles- A beast who was injured late in the college season. Will be a steal in the 4th or 5th round. |

re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Juron Criner - excellent production, great route runner, catches the ball in traffic, had a great senior bowl, is 6'4 215 lbs. Closest to a sure thing to be successful in the NFL as we will find outside of Blackmon/Floyd. (closest to, not saying he is a lock to be successful)

re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
Don't have to worry about WR in the second round now...hopefully fill that need in Free Agency.
Doubt they will try to move back in the 2nd for a WR... |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I say trade the 3rd, one of the 4th rounders and add Hall to move into the 2nd round and pick a CB, S, OL or WR whatever looks best in that round.

Great player, I'm sure Harbaugh has his eye on his old pupil. |
We need to change the title of this thread to say third round.

While I'm aware that we no longer have our second, I'd still like to point out that I think you're nuts. The kind of size and speed he has you can't teach plus, according to Mike Mayoch:
After studying all of Stephen Hill's film, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock is "less concerned" about the Georgia Tech wide receiver's drops and route running. "He's a hands snatcher," said Mayock. "He had five or six drops [at Georgia Tech] ... but when you watch him catch the football, it's so natural." For a bigger receiver, Mayock determined that Hill was "really good" getting in and out of his breaks at the Yellow Jacket's Pro Day. Mayock suspects Hill will be a late first-round pick, and an "early two" in a "worst case" scenario. Mar 6 - 5:53 PM Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Not to mention the fact that GT wideouts have been pretty decent lately when you consider Calvin Johnson, who is arguably the best in the game and Demaryius Thomas who is developing into a big time weapon. A late first or early second round selection for Hill sounds perfectly reasonable based on potential, especially for a team that has the luxury of selecting due to no pressing needs. We obviously are not that team nor do we have the second rounder to make it happen, but nevertheless... |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
The Redskins can find a decent wide receiver in the 3rd or forth round. Just look at Leonard Hankerson who clearly was graded as a first round prospect. Brandon Marshall, one of the NFL's elite wide receivers, was a 4th round draft choice. Bruce Allen should be able to find a diamond at WR in the later rounds. Look at Victor Cruz, who was undrafted.

I think Hank could turn out to be a great pick up, would be happy if we got another similar upside receiver in the 3rd or 4th. After signing Garcon and Morgan though we definitely have more concern at other positions haha. |

Also keep in mind with a top 10 3rd round pick and 2 4th round picks they can move up into the second round but I seriously doubt they'll do that. Rather they'll probably start making a living in the 3rd to 6th round range. |

I would be pretty confused if they moved those picks for a 2nd rounder. They really need to find value in those later rounds though to ensure that this is our most successful draft in years. RG3 should handle most of that. ;) |
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I hope we dont waste a pick on a WR this year.
|
re: If we Draft a WR, who do you want?
I think we might take a 4th or 5th round WR like Ryan Broyles or Brian Quick. Right now I'm fine with Garcon/Hankerson/Morgan/Moss/Gaffney/Paul. I just wanna see who returns kicks once Banks is gone.

We probably will. Oh how happy we would all be if they used the 3rd and both 4th round picks on offensive lineman. |

Brian Quick is probably gonna go 2nd round 3rd at the latest.. Broyles, TY Hilton, Joe Adams, Devon Wylie, Are all good slot WR/PR options for us. |
