This guy is going to be so good. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
This guy's Wonderlic score must be insane.

Re: Griffin shows his smarts
I remembered about 60% to 70% of that play. Forgot the protections and the name of the formation but I remembered all the routes and the progressions as well as the name name of the actual play.

Can we draft you? |

Not necessarily, although it should be above whatever is "average" for a Wonderlic. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
I'm like.....play?....OH Yah.
LOVE this guy! |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
he's a star

Brown right became blue right.

Just got done throwing the ball. I throw a mean 20 yard floater. Receivers will have no problem catching my passes, problem is neither will the defense. Still a completion is a completion is a completion, I just don't want the ball to hit the ground.
Brown right became blue right.
See I didn't make that mistake. |

I noticed that too. His one mistake. |

Yeah, but he made up for it with extra credit, like going through little details that Mooch didn't even mention like the hot read to the fly route on the far side. Love the "going deep" mentality. Also just realized that maybe the Brown-Blue mix up was possibly a Freudian slip. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Yeah, blue marker probably threw him off. Still love the trade for him.

Cleveland Brown? Cleveland Steemer? Stanley Steemer? Wait, what were we talking about? |

And I too like the "going deep" mentality, especially since he has the gun to do it. It still amazes me how he just flicks his wrist and the ball just flies out. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
2 Things eveyone should notice if you've seen any interviews with him...
1) People talk about the huge amount of pressure that they THINK would/should be on his shoulders because the Skins gave up so much to get him... His whole demeanor and personality show a guy who is not going to be intimidated or pressured at all by this... you can almost hear him saying something about the fact that all 1st round QBs (or QBs period) have pressure on them every game and that he holds himself to a higher standard than anyone could put on him, etc. 2) This guy SCREAMS leader and huddle commander. Cool, calm, collected, intelligent, and extremely competitive... the same personality traits that I personally believe made a certain 6th round QB in New England a future Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champ. The guy is a winner... period. He screams it within minutes of being around him... it's why Shanahan & Allen were willing to do whatever it took to get him. I have ZERO doubts that he will the best quarterback the Redskins have had in 20 years. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
The more see and read about Griffin, the more I think the Redskins starting QB will be Andrew Luck....
I hope not. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
RG3 has poise and composure most players could only dream of. Solid guy. Looking forward to seeing him the Burgundy and Gold.

Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Cant wait to see RG3 with Gruden.
|
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Robert Griffin III episode of QB camp will air at 9 p.m. ET on April 2 on ESPN btw. Also you might want to do your due diligence and watch the Luck on March 31st.
|
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
The guy looks the part, both physically and mentally. He was a better passer coming out of college than Newton or Vick. Can he get down the intracasies and nuances of playing QB in the NFL, like Steve Young did? That's the struggle with all QB's that are great athletes. Vick has finally done it. We'll see if RG3 can. No one will really know until he gets under center.

--- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?milneh
That is the beauty of it all - we can't lose! It is so sweet to be in a position where we are virtually assured of getting a Franchise QB. The longer the NFL's game of FA QB musical chairs goes on, the better the Skins trade with the Rams looks to me. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
I don't want Luck, stop hyping rg3 media ppl!

Re: Griffin shows his smarts
The more see and read about Griffin, the more I think the Redskins starting QB will be Andrew Luck....
I hope not.
You have to remember Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect since John Elway. There's plenty of reasons to love RG3 and theres no doubt we're getting a hell of a QB. However I think a lot of people are equating RG3 being more exciting than Luck to him being better. I mean it's definitely reasonable to assume that Griffin could be just as good if not better then Luck down the line, but as of now, Luck is easily the better prospect. |

Is it really looking like RGIII is moving past Luck as we get closer to the draft? As great as Luck will probably end up being I, like a lot of others here, have convinced myself that Griffin is going to be amazing and I'll be disappointed if we don't get him. |

As great as Luck will probably end up being I, like a lot of others here, have convinced myself that Griffin is going to be amazing and I'll be disappointed if we don't get him.
Also keep in mind the media has been covering Luck on a national level for as many as 3 years now. I think the first time I saw him projected to go number 1 was in April 2010 after the draft. Todd McShay's first look at the 2011 NFL Draft - ESPN
Originally Published: April 28, 2010 1. Buffalo Bills Andrew Luck*, QB, Stanford Only a third-year sophomore this fall but coach Jim Harbaugh has Luck on the fast track mechanically and mentally. Luck has prototypical size (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) and is an underrated athlete. More importantly, he has a smooth over-the-top delivery, a strong arm and great touch as a passer. Better decisions while gaining more game experience could put Luck in position to become the top player taken in the draft -- either in 2011 or 2012.
They've pretty much run out of things to say about the guy. Griffin is much easier to cover seeing as how he first really burst on the national scene mid-season when they started seriously considering Heisman candidates. |

I think Redskin fans are drunk on Griffin (with some justification) so that we have a different conversation. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Is RGIII, 6'3" or 6'2"?
|
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
like......6'2 1/2...allegedly, per the Combine

6'2 and 3/8 |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
I think, at least I hope, when it's all said and done RG3 and Luck will be the "Magic and Bird" of the NFL.
|
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Fun vid to watch! He's smart and pays attention, and more importantly he didn't bristle at Steve's "I'm smarter than you attitude."
We have to put pieces around this kid and (as importantly) protect him. Hope the oline rises well beyond expectations this season. If Trent Williams gets caught with dope again I hope we cut his dumb ass pronto i.e. I hope the regime has talked some sense to that kid! |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
Also another way to think of Luck. Luck is basically Cam Newton, that is if Cam Newton had started for 3 years in a pro style offense at the top level, never got in trouble, and graduated from a top educational institution. In short he's got all the raw physical talent of Newton with none of the red flags.

Luck is basically Cam Newton except he's smaller, slower, lacks the arm strength, doesn't have as clean of a throwing motion/release, oh and didn't win the big game to keep his team undefeated and didn't lead his team to a national championship. Luck is a very good athlete in his own right, but Cam is a specimen like I've never seen. The kid threw a jump pass for 40+ yards in the air on the money, he's thrown off his back foot for 50 yard bombs. Cam's arm talent is on a whole other level then Luck. |

Still it doesn't change the fact, Luck has been deemed by multiple talent evaluators to be the best QB prospect since John Elway. Also I don't know why you would hold not winning a national championship against him considering how crooked the BCS system is. I mean consider that Vince Young, Tim Tebow, and Matt Leinart also won it. |
Re: Griffin shows his smarts
I think the Colts made up their mind long ago, and rightfully so. If anyone screams Peyton Manning part 2 it's Luck.
The consolation prize isn't too shabby though. Either way we're in a win/win situation. |
