2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
New thread, new news
What do you all think of this Asante Samuel to Tennessee rumor? |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
anything that weakens the eagles is good in my book.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
havent heard the price, but im assuming based on the things the eagles usually get, the titans are giving them 4 1st rounders?

What do you all think of this Asante Samuel to Tennessee rumor?[/quote] Asante Samuel 1) probably top 5 currently bad locker room guys 2) skills have fallen off since going to the Eagles, sharply last season 3) Eagles FO probably top 3 in the league Eagles probably make up quite well with the deal which is bad news for us. Wouldnt want him here, but if they are moving Rogers-Cromartie to the full time starter...thats a huge win for anybody playing them. Rogers-Cromartie is piss poor |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
I don't know how they do it but the Eagles make out like bandits with every trade they pull, so Tennessee will probably give them a high pick for Samuel. As far as what I think of it, either way the Eagles win imo.

if they give them a third or higher, im OK with that. |

I think it is a conditional 3rd. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
3rd round pick will likely be a starter in 2-3 years. Immediately it makes them younger, and slightly weaker on defense. It's good for them long term. If our wideout situation is noticably deeper this year, than it could be good for us. The Redskins of the last 20 years, it wouldnt matter that much because you dont need a deep secondary to cover our 1-2 threats.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
grr, the eagles ALWAYS buy low and sell high.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
i hope his replacement can tackle. i have a feeling our quarterback will spend a significant amount of time in our opponents secondary dodging tackles. :)

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
Eagles want at least a 3rd. Titans not willing, at this time, to go that high. Lions might be though
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
IMIO(in my ignorant opinion) - he's a value at a 4th round pick. not worth a 3rd.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
It would be a good move for the Lions.

i had heard that from one of my sources, but i think the price is too high. were young and hungry (JUST LIKE A LION! RAWR) we dont need him. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
It would be a good move for the lions if they are finally willing to admit they dont have the scouting ability to identify a starter long term in the 3rd round. That's a sad fact.

Did you catch (pun intended) any of the Lion's pass defense last year? Horrible. |

Yep. The Lions defense is strong up front but putrid in the secondary. Further questions on this subject should be directed to Matt Flynn. |

when you put up the type of points the lions do, you dont need defense. seriously though, they need an upgrade and i think they go that route int he draft. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
If I were the Steelers I couldn't send that 3rd rounder fast enough for Asante.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
true. i keep wondering when that steelers d is finally going to fall off.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
After the way Ike Taylor played in the playoffs and the fact that they are a zone based D and Asante is a great zone CB makes a perfect fit to me.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
Have you seen how much Asante is owed $$$$. I'd offer a 4th.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Volume 2)
oh snap. this is one time i just wish the eagles would crash and burn. dont pick anyone else up and just deal with. cause knowing them, theyll sign bell to a two year deal while peters heals and then trade him for a first rounder next year.

LOL. If that last arrest didn't revoke his probation (which it would've) than this one definitely would have. He must have a serious painkiller addiction.
