80 Greatest Redskins
It's the 80th anniversary of the Washington Redskins (well, going back to Boston in 1932 actually)
And there has been some speculation that the Redskins will add 10 players to this list Redskins.com | 70 Greatest Redskins So...what 10 players would you add to the list? |

Chris Samuels Sean Taylor Santana Moss Clinton Portis Philip Daniels Fred Smoot Chris Cooley James Thrash London Fletcher Honorable Mention: Todd Collins & The Red Snapper
I'd replace Fred Smoot with Shawn Springs. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Ken Harvey instead of Marcus Washington.

He is already in the 70 Greatest. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Chris Samuels
Sean Taylor Clinton Portis Lamar Parrish- 8 time Pro Bowler, Led entire NFL with 9 interceptions 1979. Joe the Bird Lavender- 29 interceptions as a Redskin London Fletcher |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
London Fletcher for sure. And it's hard not to put Sean Taylor in there since he's already in the ring of honor. Even though he only played 4 years, I think we all know his ceiling was HOF type stuff.

Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Well, I would add Richie Petitbon. If he is in the Ring of Fame which is a much more exclusive club, then he should also be on the Greatest list.
|
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Clinton Portis
Chris Samuels Joe Bugel Richie Petitbon Sean Taylor I don't know that any current Redskins would get in |

Sean Taylor Clinton Portis Lamar Parrish- 8 time Pro Bowler, Led entire NFL with 9 interceptions 1979. Joe the Bird Lavender- 29 interceptions as a Redskin London Fletcher
Great list , almost forgot about L. Parrish . I would consider C. Gouveia and of course Petibon and Bugel . |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins

SS already mentioned it, but I think no current Redskins will make the list. Fletcher will probably make it after he retires or leaves. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
WOW i assumed Daryl Grant was on it!! Doesnt he deserve it?? I sure think so.He was a beast in the middle.

You didn't actually expect people to check the list first did you? Sucker. |

Okay, thanks. I wasn't aware of that. Those others I name deserve to be on the list for the 80 great Redskins. |

My bad. I always thought that if this list had been done a few years later, that Stephen Davis would have replaced Terry Allen. |

Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Just a question but is Jack Kent Cook already on the list or B.Beathard?(sp)

Charles Mann finished up with the 49ers, Dexter Manley with either the Cards or Tampa. I forget who Monk finished up with, but you get my point. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Plenty of guys on the list finished up with other teams. That's just how it goes in the modern era.

Bullet Bill Dudley's best years were as a Steeler, but he is still on the 70 Greatest list. Then you can look at Paul Krause. I had him sign 10 Redskin jerseys with the 70 Greatest inscription. He said he should be putting anything with the word "Greatest" on any Redskins items. His best years were clearly with the Vikings. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
davis played 7 years w the redskins, 3 w the panthers, and 1 w the rams. he was not fond of the redskins, he chose to retire a panther

I realize your talking players and coaches but without Beatherd and Cook how many of those guys would have been around, same could be said for Vince Lombardi ,yes I realize he was'nt with the Skins very long but he brought in Sam Huff and some others who help build a winning tradition when G .Allen got there, just a thought. |

Sean Taylor Clinton Portis Lamar Parrish- 8 time Pro Bowler, Led entire NFL with 9 interceptions 1979. Joe the Bird Lavender- 29 interceptions as a Redskin London Fletcher
If these guys don't make it it's a shitty list. I think Parrish should come up for HOF vote at some point. |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Tanna def has to make it.
|
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Kurt Gouveia, Alvin Walton, Mark Schlereth, Charlie Johnson, Stephen Davis, Chris Samuels, Darryl Grant, Roy Jefferson, Jon Jansen, Sean Taylor and, Im pretty baffled noone mentioned Larry Michaels
He should at least get an honorary spot or somethin'..... |
Re: 80 Greatest Redskins
Just a random bit of interesting info. Vince Lombardi did not make the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
