nfl top 100 2012
With the NFL top 100 players starting this weekend I was wondering if anyone else had any predictions on who might be on it. Last year, only Donovan McNabb made it.
Personally I think London Fletcher should and possibly Brian Orakpo. Will any Redskin make it this year? |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Fletch and Rak should be there, not counting on it though.
Looking forward to seeing RGIII on the list next year :) |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
orakpo will
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Hopefully Orakpo, Kerrigan, and RG3 at the minimum
|

lol kerrigan and RGIII have a zero percent chance. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
i think fletch has the best shot. i wouldn't be surprised if he is the only one. i'd have to agree that orakpo would be the other one. i don't see anyone else with a decent shot
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
oh wait this is the thing about top players in the nfl
not top players for that year |
Orakpo should be around 80 and fletch around 85 but I doubt we get any love
|
My top 10 overall
1. Rodgers 2. Brady 3. D. Ware 4. C. JOHNSON Wr 5. P. WILLIS 6. D. REVIS 7. A. JOHNSON 8. D. BREES 9. ED REED 10 . MATT FORTE |

MATT FORTE
I say (no order) brady, rodgers, manning, brees should all be up there. JPP, Revis, Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, and Justin Smith. I know no more than 4 of my picks will make it in the top 10....if that; but I stand by them. Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu are the two most overrated players in TODAYS NFL. I see them get embarassed too many times recently. I feel llike they are locks though. Your list, the only ones I feel strongly shouldn't be there are Reed and Forte. Everyone else I'm all good with. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
RG3 won't make it, simply because he's a rookie who's never played a down in the NFL. He'll be on the list next year though barring injury.
|

Well if Manning can make it and not play at all last yr, why cant they make it? |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Calvin Johnson
Eli Manning Victor Cruz Aaron Rodgers Matthew Stafford Darelle Revis Jason Pierre Paul Patrick Willis Tom Brady Ed Reed London Fletcher Julio Jones |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Wow, you guys are disrespectful, putting Andre johnson, Julio Jones and Victor Cruz in your top ten over Larry Fitzgerald. Hes the best damn receiver in the NFL bar none. IDC about Calvin, Fitz has more heart and makes more clutch plays with horrible QB's.
P.S- Calvin Choked for me in Fantasy playoffs this year!!! But i honestly believe Calvin is not as good of a WR as Larry, he just cant do as many things as Larry, and larry is way better over the middle..WAY BETTER. |

I wouldn't put Jones or Cruz over Fitz, but I would put Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson in the same class as him. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Why are people listing only current players? Isn't the top 100 an all-time thing? Where's the love for Sammy Baugh?
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
This list is for current players, top 100 in the game right now
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
My bad. I remember seeing a top-100 of all time and was thinking of that.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Well look on the bright side, if any Redskins do make the list we'll know sooner rather than later simply because we know we already don't have any players worthy of top 50 consideration based on last year's play. Fletch should be on it, but since he's up there in years I would expect him to be somewhere in the 70-90 range.
That bastard!
I wouldn't put Jones or Cruz over Fitz, but I would put Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson in the same class as him.
Yea there definately the top 3 elite. But Andre is too injury prone to be put on the same level as Larry IMO, and Calvin just cant run the route tree like larry can. IDK, the heart larry displays and the catches he makes in big situations are incredible. |

So no big Al? Can't imagine this list without him. |

On my list, I listed new WRs because of the impact that they had on their teams last year. Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, and Victor Cruz made it to the post season. Mr. Fitzgerald however did not. That was the reason why I excluded Larry Fitzgerald. |

Julio Jones was not even the best receiver on his team LAST year, as much potential as he does have. He is a beast and will be dominant. |

You're right. Jones wasn't the best receiver on the Falcons last season. Although a top ten draft selection, he was just a rookie. We saw flashes of what he can do and he did make some great plays last year. But in my opinion, Julio Jones is one of the best in the NFL even now although he didn't show it statistically as a rookie. He had only 59 receptions and almost made 1,000 yards. His 17.0 yard per catch was super productive even for a rookie. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Fletcher made it. He seems to finally be getting some respect around the league.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Some players are fading out. Ray Lewis and Terrence Newman are falling. Others like Victor Cruz and Alex Smith are on the rise.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Top 10:
In Order: Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees In no order: Calvin Johnson Ray Rice Demarcus Ware Darrelle Revis Patrick Willis Arian Foster Julius Peppers *Peyton is obviously top 3 when healthy, but as of RIGHT NOW nobody knows |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
fletch and rak should make it, but neither will be above 80... that's it though.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Any defender who has made the pro bowl more than once in recent years deserves to be mentioned. Fletcher and Orakpo could very well have their biggest years coming up this season. I count them both among the elite in the NFL.

Re: nfl top 100 2012
Ok, 80 more to go, Here's my prediction (I have 81 because I'm not sure if Jason Peters is eligible). This isn't who I think is the top 80 players in the league, but who I think will be voted in based off of the patterns of voting last year. Here we go! (P.S. the numbers mean nothing, there is no order)
QB. 1. P. Manning 2. Brees 3. Brady 4. E. Manning 5. Vick 6. Roethlessberger 7. Rodgers 8. Stafford 9. Rivers 10. Ryan 11. Flacco WR 1. Fitzgerald 2. C. Johnson 3. A. Johnson 4. Welker 5. White 6. Cruz 7. Bowe 8. S. Smith 9. Nelson 10. Hester RB 1. MJD 2. Peterson 3. Rice 4. Foster 5. McCoy 6. Forte 7. Gore 8. Jackson FB 1. Leach TE 1. Gronkowski 2. Grahm 3. Davis 4. Witten 5. Gates 6. Gonzolez OL 1. Long 2. Mangold 3. Pouncy 4. Evans 5. Nicks 6. Mankins 7. Waters 8. Clady 9. Peters 10. Staley ILB 1. Lewis 2. Willis 3. Mayo 4. Urlacher 5. D. Johnson OLB 1. Ware 2. Matthews 3. Suggs 4. Hali 5. Harrison 6. V. Miller DE 1. Allen 2. Babin 3. Pierre-Paul 4. J. Smith 5. Peppers 6. Williams 7. Abraham DT 1. Ngata 2. Suh 3. Seymour CB 1. Revis 2. Asumuagh 3. Bailey 4. Woodson 5. Rogers 6. Flowers 7. Peterson S 1. Reed 2. Polamalu 3. Weddle 4. Rolle |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
I heard Fletch was #87 through the Redskins on FB. That's not bad. Better than having McNabb on there last time at #100.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
beck got bottom 100 players (bottom 10) honors
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
is there a link to the list anywhere?
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
I watched it last night and the narrator said "Who is the first of the Redskins to make the list" Implying that more than one skin has made the list. They showed pictures of Fletcher (who made it ) Brian Orakpo, and DHall. I think Brian will be the other and last redskin to make it.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
if dhall makes it, i'm quitting.

Re: nfl top 100 2012
I'm sorry, but how does desean Jackson make this list at all..much less at 71. Last year the dude started 15 games yet was 27th in the league for yds/game, 46th in receptions, 17 in yds/reception (only including players with 25 or more receptions), 69th in Touchdowns, and 56th in yds/punt return. Keep in mind for that last rank...there are only 32 teams in the nfl.
71st best player in the league? the dude hasn't shown himself to be top 20 at his own position...and he has vick throwing to him with shady to keep the pressure off the pass game. |

DeSean Jackson has played greatly for the Eagles ever since he was drafted in the 2nd round in 2008. His level of play probably slacked off in 2011, but in 2008, 2009, and 2010 the dude was a beast. |

Yeah, it's all about the "what was", not "what is", which is why fans usually have trouble with accepting the notion of letting go of players too soon. They'd rather have a player for too long than too little, even to the detriment of the team, because of the attachment to "what was". |

The dudes career high in recieving yds would have been 14th this year, and his career high in recieving tds (in a different year) would have been 9th this year. His career high in receptions...41st this year. 3/4 of his years...his fumbles would have been first this year. I'm not saying he's junk, but that's not a resume that deems being in the top 100 based on past accomplishments. |

well explained. No eagle should ever be in the top 100. No cowboy or giant should for that matter. They all suck, and every win they get is just pure luck. I hate them all. |
