Welcome to the NFL Justin Blackmon. 2nd DUI in two years.
Ouch. I approve of suspensions for players in this case. Hope he can turn that part of his life around, though. I'm not crazy about Meriweather playing for us either. I know, nobody's a saint, but still... |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
Don't fret, Vincent Jackson is his adviser and he's on the same plan in route to a 55 million dollar contract.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
It would be a small investment for teams to hire a driver, shuttle bus, or taxi service. Dumb athletes with $ and cars still haven't figured out to let a friend have the pleasure of driving a (insert $100K car) and keep the streets safe and your butt out of trouble. Drunk driving by millionaires should be held to full penalty of Goodell.

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
He blew a .24, basically a quarter of his blood was alcohol. He must have some shitty friends/family to let him drive away in that condition.

No that means 0.24% of his blood was alcohol. BAC calculates from the basis of 1% (so a BAC of 1 would mean that by volume 1% of the fluid in your bloodstream was alcohol). Pretty bad way to start off a career, and Florida isn't the greatest place to reform a party lifestyle. |

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
He'll be a bust. Mike Mularkey this week said that in training camp that Blackmon
"Makes some incredible plays one moment, and some awful, how do you screw that up moments the next." Glad we didn't draft him. |

I believe the NFL has that type of service already. Which makes it that much worse. Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2 |

That was a decent parody. |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
Blackmon was dumb & this was a bad way to start. However, he's about 20 years old and just got millions of dollars. We ALL KNOW they're going to parties. Maturity is something that comes with time and allows for mistakes along the way. I'd wait to see if this was a repetitive behavior before busting his chops.
An example of repetitive behavior = smoking pot after getting caught -- again and again... |

An example of repetitive behavior = smoking pot after getting caught -- again and again...
I don't know to what lengths you'd go to define repetitive, but this is his second DUI in less than two years, and this one is aggravated on top of that (aka his BAC had to meet a pretty high qualifier). Coincidence? Maybe. But he's certainly laying the foundation for the "repetitive" part of your argument. If this one doesn't qualify as repetitive surely the next one will. |

Aggravated had to be .15 and he was .24, three times the legal limit. Sounds like someone needs a baby sitter. Sucks for the Jags. Just think about what a fire media storm it'd be around here if we had drafted him and he did that. |

I'm guessing he wasn't aware of his prior offense. 2 DUI's in less than 2 years definitely = pure stupidity on Blackmon's part. Not a good way to start your NFL career. Someone call this guy a cab. |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
In most states the second DUI had mandatory jail time.

"I have hired Jordan Woy as my new agent. It was important for me to hire someone who believes in my ability to help an NFL team and believes in me as a person." Rosenhaus declined comment.
Should we start the suicide watch soon? |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
Rosenhaus is the best, he gets people jobs that otherwise probably wouldn't get a job, and T.O. has a problem with him? Sounds more like Rosenhaus dropped T.O. as a client cause T.O. is not living up to his billing. It's either T.O. is not working hard enough to stay in shape or his body is just wearing down. Either way Rosenhaus couldn't get T.O. to fix his issues and probably dropped him.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
I put this in the Redskins OTA's because people were probably closely watching that thread. I'll put it here as well though cause this is the rest of the league thread.

It's looking more and more like the end is nearing for Terrell Owens. He's had a magnificent HOF career. As far as Drew Rosenhaus, I've never heard agents dropping clients. usually it's the other way around. I wouldn't say Rosenhaus is the best in the business. I think Tom Condon would have something to say about that. |

Ouch. Then again, with that type of coin, you don't need to be having sex with a 15 year old. |

I suppose that they are attempting to instill in the young Redskins players a winning attitude. Who better to do it than two players who have a combination of five Super Bowl rings. |

This gives practical meaning to the phrase "I've got ants in my pants". |

That poor guy. Fire ants are nasty little buggers. I can't blame him for not wanting those devils near his junk.

Why now? Why not after the season? I would imagine there would be a better field of candidates if this was done earlier. EDIT: Why didn't I read the article before posting? Idk, but all my questions are now answered lol. |

Since it's a Cowboy, it was slightly funny until I read he was allergic. |
