I haven't paid too much attention to minicamp in years past. Is anyone here going?

It's doubtful that I'll go to this year's mini camp or training camps. I remember back in the days heading up to Carlisle, Pennsylvania was fun.

I didn't think minicamp was open to the public. Is it some sort of invitation only?

This minicamp will make or break us. If it is successful, we win the Super Bowl. If there are any hang-ups, we're doomed.

Yikes! I hope that isn't a screenshot of the Canadian Psycho, Luka Magnotta's murder video. Gross.

Seems to me comments by players and observers from mini camps years past had the reoccuring theme that defense looked sharp and offense less so. This should be the year both units look sharp in minicamp!

I'd give it another year or two before we can say both units look sharp. RG3 is only a rookie, after all.

No! It's like Lotus said, we absolutely have to win this minicamp. Anything less is complete failure. If RG3 looks bad, we should just cut him now, because anything more would just be wasting our time.

I would be very surprised if the O is looking sharp with the little time they have had together as a unit.

If that's your position, Lotus, then I say minicamp is irrelevant.

And you have to post proof.

And hang-up are a figment of your imagination.

Relax guys, we win this every year.

And we all know how reports of a good minicamp translate into success!

:)

I mean looking at years past.....

Well, I hope RG3 shines, though considering how bad Newton looked before the regular season, I wouldn't hit the panic button for anything less than injury.

Is mini camp a no cantact no pad practice or do they go at it some with pads and lite contact?

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)

I was watching NFLN's Top 10 Team Turnarounds with the Rams going from 4-12 to 12-4 (and Champs), the Patriots going 5-11 to 10 or 11 wins and the SB and the Saints of 06 going from 3-13 to 10-6. What did all those teams have in common? A major QB change. I'm reading all my NFL magazines and they all say that our weaknesses next year are

OL
DB's
RG3s progress as a rookie QB

I really feel like the first and last ones won't be a problem if RG3's playing great and defenses are blitzing less/ RG3's ability to run out of the pocket.

Its DB's that are going to be the problem. I'll say this, if Reed Doughty is starting at safety we are in bad shape, and it will be a problem. If our DB's are clicking though and grasping the defense well, we could be a great surprise team and team turnaround.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)

i'm pretty confident we'll see coverage issues this year. landry to meriwether (sp?) is a toss up, but the other spot is meh and the corners weren't awe-inspiring last year, to say the least.

however, our QB play was sooo bad that the defensive issues might have been a bit overblown.

No contact

Max 3.5 hours on the field each day

2nd practice has to be no helmet/pads walk through

I hope Jonathan Crompton makes a solid case for himself in mini camp and in training camp. No one is talking about him. He's the practice squad QB after all.

I like the fact that he realized that trying to save himself for a game was not the way the elite of the game do things. I cannot knock a guy who is trying to get better. Good for him.

oh yeah i agree, I just feel more foolish defending him as i did in the past...lol.

D Hall probably had his worst season since his Raiders' year last year. Can he bounce back? I think he can, cant keep that Hokie down

I think it's expected. Cousins played in a pro-style offense. Griffin has more to learn after coming out of the spread.

I'd expect Griffin to not be on the same page with his receivers. But hearing praise about his arm strength is encouraging to me.
I have to get one of those tee shits!
I really wish those days were over. You rarely hear about the Pats, Packers, or Steelers making risky (high-cost) moves in the offseason.

"Defensively, rookie cornerback Chase Minnifield made a nice interception across the middle on a pass from quarterback Rex Grossman."

Its early, but I keep seeing his name....its a good sign.
