Why? I hate this kind of stuff.

re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
I have a 9 year old, and the story indicated one of the victims was that age. My first thought is unfortunately of a slow grueling death for the man they apprehended. I want to physically and emotionally tear him apart.

A 3 month old baby was killed too.
All this just 15 minutes or so from Columbine |

In this report it is down to 12 and the bay is wounded not dead.

I didn't know Jessica personally, but I know she was someone trying to break into the sports media industry, having done some NHL related stuff.
Anyhow, how crazy that she was also at the Eaton Center shooting. RIP Late Night Thoughts on the Eaton Center Shooting « A Run On of Thoughts |
Police arrested a man believed to be the shooter in a rear parking lot of the theater, Frank Fania, a police spokesman, told CNN. The suspect was not immediately identified. Police said he was a man in his 20s from Aurora. "He did not resist. He did not put up a fight," Fania said. Police seized a rifle and a handgun from the suspect, and another gun was found in the theater, he said.
I'm really disappointed this guy is still alive. Too bad they didn't shoot him. |

re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
This is so very tragic. It is also ironic. Where was Batman to save these people?

A guy on reddit who got injured while at this movie theater posted pics.

Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
I am wondering if he was dressed as Bane thus folks didn't think much of it:

And there goes dressing up for movies. Which for the record I think is lame but just another freedom torn from us do to some crazy nutcase. |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
Coming soon to a theater near you: metal detectors, if not for every movie but possibly for movie premieres.
F'n nutjobs are ridiculous. |
We generally have a cop at our theater on the weekends and special openings such as this.
Eww, I just got a really uneasy feeling in my stomach - I saw Prometheus last night and as we were walking into the theater I saw a sign that said "NO WEAPONS" and I jokily told the girl I was with to leave her .9 in the car. I know it obviously has nothing to do with the tragedy in CO but I seriously feel sick thinking about it.

My first reactions when I heard - Man Colorado is having a rough year. is it near my ex? why are a 3 month old and 6year old at a midnight showing. After that I started thinking about the overall scope of the tragedy. I imagine other Batman shows will have to have heightened security now, for copycats or other bizarre behavior. Very very tragic for the families and people involved. |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
I think things have changed since Columbine happened.
Columbine showed these desperate people that they can make a huge media impact when they decide to go ballistic. Some of them I’m afraid may be trying to outdo the previous headliner. It may only get worse from here on out. |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
Wow, just wow, the sadest thing in the world to me is when innocent people die for no reason, (basically tragedies like these). Just imagine guys like us minding our own business taking our kids to see a movie and then this nut comes in and does that...
Man, and on top of that whats the deal with Colorado and mass shootings?!? And my question is did this guy have a ticket to the movie? How did he get in so easily? Where is the movie ticket people and ushers to stop him from sneaking into the theater? Thats just sad. I'm going to still see this movie, but I'm not going to lie, I'll be looking over my shoulder every now and then during it. |

No one gave him a second look. He had on a gas mask like Bane and a bulletproof vest just like Bane. |

Reports are that he came in through an exit by the screen, let off tear gas and shot from near or in front of the screen. |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
He came in thru an emergency exit.
He was carrying a shot gun and a rifle+. Not somehting you would waltz in thru the front entrance with. Did any of you read the articles? |

Not much a ticket taker is going to do to stop a armed man in body armor. No reason to look over your shoulder. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than have this type of event happen to you. |

This. This. A hundred times this. For those questioning the presence of small kids, I get it but, bottom line, poor parenting choices shouldn't subject your kids to this. |

I didn't mean it to be funny. That's why I used the word "ironic" not long after I used the word "tragic." |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
One of the reports I read said he came in through the emergency exit, which isn't uncommon (back in high school me and friends used to do the same thing to avoid buying a ticket). Why would he walk in through the front entrance with 3 guns? He planned for the element of suprise. Walking in through the front is not an element of suprise. Anybody notice he waited until a shootout in the movie before he started firing? It was cold, brutal, and pre-meditated. He'll most likely die by lethal injection in a few years.

Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
I work with a guy who's daughter if not for sleeping in and missing class would have been in or around the same building at the time the VT massacre happened. She now lives in Colorado and about 20 minutes away from the movie theater, in which she has gone many times. She and her roommate had been talking about going to the priemer but had decided not too because they didnt want to stay up that late before going to work in the morning. Crazy.
Very sad stuff. Thoughts and prayers to all those involved. |

That is so very messed up. I cannot imagine being filled with so much hate that you would do such things. |
Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting
I just don't know how a person could do something like this to innocent people. Hell I didn't even know there was a Batman movie coming out and surprised at how many people actual go to see Batman movies.

Some onsite footage in the theater.
