if that's true, i wonder why we didn't look at him before/after resigning hightower? or did we?

Been "looking" off and on for months. Never thought it was too serious though

With Helu and Royster banged up we needed a RB, but Slaton I thought would've been a better signing. Hightower is still rehabing his knee from what I've read, and not fully healed. Grant might be a pleasant surprise and an added bonus/weapon to our offense; we'll see.

Prior to the season I would have said bad fit, but with the way teams are respecting Griffin, he might be a really nice pick-up.

skinsfaninok 09-25-2012 07:20 PM

Sweet a new right tackle right??? O wait.

as hightower, why come back to play in preseason when you're still rehabbing? he wasn't 100% and he got cut. here's wishing tim a full and speedy recovery.

is it official?

Can he block or cover a WR?

i like this part "Grant was actually in the Bears’ locker room when he got the call informing him that he had an offer with the Redskins." snatched!

Funny you should mention that...

CB Butler released due to injury (hammy), and CB David Jones signed.

Now you can ask if he can cover a WR? Lol.

Did Helu even play last week? I remember Royster but not Helu.

Pretty sure Helu had one carry, but heard after the game he was limping pretty heavily.

Why does anybody think Steve Slaton is good?

Are there still doubts about Grant (age 29, out practically all of 2010) staying healthy? He started for GB 14 games last season, but only 134 carries?

He did have a pretty good year playing for Kyle, and he has the tools to be a quick plant and go back like he was for the Texans, and WVU. Who both run similar styles in the running game. It only takes one chance to prove your worth.

I would have preferred a change of pace back. Morris and Ryan are both grinders, we need a shifty back.

SS- regarding Hightower he must still be injured and this is why he hasn't come back?

i'm pretty sure he's here to block on some of the passing plays. otherwise, i mean, what pro bowlers are sitting around on the street on week 3? at worst this is a trash in, thrash out signing.

Running backs come And go so fast, remember the guy that replaced grant? James starks or whatever? Now where is he at

The Redskins are hurting at the RB/halfback position. Grant signing with us is an excellent move.

Helu and Royster are the change of back compared to Morris.

Pretty sure I hear both names several times. Helu I thought caught several passes. Royster I only heard as running the ball outside. Morris took the ball between the tackle most of the day. And they used Banks on the option.

Hightower-still not even healthy enough to work out with teams from what I last heard

Grant-apparently healthy enough to get signed by the Skins w/o even a workout

Slaton-think what the Skins see in him is a step in when needed back who is familiar with the offense

Helu-he's been hurt for a while and aggravated his injuries on Sunday. I'm still a bit surprised, quite honestly, that he wasn't IR'd

Royster-also got hurt on Sunday, though it may not be as bad (3-4 weeks out) as I originally heard
