Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
Ok it's WED, time to move on from the Bengals game and look ahead to Tampa. The bucs come in ranked 32nd in total offense and averaging 20 points per game. On defense they aren't much better (26th overall).
Josh Freeman - 71 QB Rating 4 tds 3 Ints. 491 yards passing. On paper the Redskins are the better team, skins ranked 1st overall in scoring 33 PPG and 6th in total offense. The defense as we all know is horrific but this is the worst offense we will have seen yet. I think if Trent Williams and Pierre Garcon are able to play the skins will win this game on offense alone. Thoughts? NFL Game Center: Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 2012 Week 4 |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
The offense needs to establish the run or it might be a long day.
The defense needs to beat up on Freeman as if he were a piņata. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
I don't think Vincent Jackson has been tearing it up, nor is he another AJ Green; but I don't want to see him get 10/15 yd cushions or lined up one-on-one with a DB.
|
Jackson did nothing against Dallas, of course the cowboys are much better than us on defense. I think we double vjax and see what they can do with other guys

Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
VJ and Doug Martin scare me in this game. I can see them causing mismatch problems on our defense.
Donald Penn is a name to look out for. He is a very good underrated LT (ranked 99-98? on the NFL top 100 fwiw) He should contain both our passrushers pretty easily. I still expect us to put up big points on the bucs, especially if Clayborns out. But its that secondary of theres that bothers me. Ronde is now a charles woodson safety, Aqib Talib is a very good corner and eric wright has his moments (he can either suck big time sunday or have 2 picks against us; he's one of those players.) We play them in Tampa too so keep that in mind. |

Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
Jackson is still incredibly dangerous, Dallas's secondary is fierce and their pass rush got to Freeman. If we can't get to Freeman like Dallas did, then VJax will burn us badly.

Yards Allowed
WSH 429 TB 401 Pass Yds Allowed WSH 337 TB 353 Rush Yds Allowed WSH 92 TB 47 This needs to be a huge pocket passing game for Griffin, Tampa looks stingy in run defense but worse than us on the back end. (don't know if that's possible) |

But that stops this week baby, Hassletusdown rallies the troops, d comes up big! |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
i do expect a bounce back game, especially if a few of the injuries subside maybe we get merriwheather back and he performs well.. trent and pierre we pray... worried with our d so far, freeman can move, and has an arm, so i wonder how we will fair... we shall see.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
A single second is an eternity in football, but that's what we need. We can outscore the bucs if the offensive line can give Griff 1 more second without pressure to the pocket.
They are going to score against us, there is no way to avoid that short of a reverse Clinton Portis/Champ Bailey trade. So pass protection is the key. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
^^ but we dont have a clinton portis circa 2004 or wenever it was !
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
One thing that probably helped with the Saints win was Raheem Morris's familiarity with how to deal with them. I hope it helps this time around too.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
Crazy Tampa has the best Rushing D and worst Passing D. Their D sounds similar to ours, but they are still trying to find their offense

Good point. He should be our MVP this game. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
We need to carouse thier running backs.

Singing and partying with their RB's will set a very odd tone for the game. Kinky...... |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
I just hope our gameplan takes the Bucs' strengths and weaknesses into account. We haven't done that consistently enough.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
The worse offense is playing against one of the worse defenses. I give the Redskins the slight edge because of our offense with RG3 and Alfred Morris. The Redskins should be able to run and pass on Tamp Bay's defense at will even if Trent Williams and Pierre Garcon don't play.
What's interesting is Tampa Bay's poorly ranked offense going up against the Redskins soft defense. Will the Bucs exploit the Redskins secondary? Or will the Redskins secondary step up and give Tampa's passing attack a stiff challenge? This might be the game where the Redskins put to together a solid game playing against the pass. |

I agree. I vote for flaming Jagermeister shots for them before the game. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
RG THA Third, will have a monster day. I'm hoping Morris runs for 170+ and two scores.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs- Lets break it down
I have a feeling that the D will rebound somewhat in this game and play respectably. Tampa played both Dallas and the NYG very close the last two weeks. They'll be a tough out.
Let's see if Shanahan can improve to 5-13 at home as our HC. :/ |

You know they have given up 47 yards through 3 games. vs Car, NYG, and Dallas. I know NYG don't have a distinguished running game, but DeMarco Murray and Carolina's aren't that shoddy. Personally I would like to say a lot of max protect and chuck it type football this week. |

No, he can't because he is just a big sissy. A girly man. A crybaby ... and, if he asks, you can tell him Redskins4ever says so and will throw down with him any time, any where! Wuss. |

So the hallmark of a Skins fan is someone who knows absolutely nothing about the other 31 teams not called the Cowpies, Iggles, and Gints? Thought there was a standard of excellence around here. Lol. |

First of all, I didn't even know pirate porn existed, but thanks for the hot tip, Quincy. And I would not be caught dead sniffing Lee Roy Selmon's crank. For one thing, he's dead, and for another...just gross. You got issues, Chief. |
