Well that's a good argument, I actually was one of the few on here that said the colts would be a sleeper but I still give it to griff, he has less to work with as an overall team IMO. |

Yeah true the Colts have actually made the other team punt. Punters on opposing teams should donate their game checks to charity when they play the Skins. |

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what his supporting cast is. Luck will get the argument 9 times out of 10, because of how HORRIBLE the Colts were last year. Yes, we were pretty crappy too, but when Peyton went down, the Colts resembled a high school team. That being said, if we start getting on a roll, and squeak into the playoffs at 9-7, in a perfect world, RG3 gets the nod. If the Colts make the playoffs, all bets are off. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
Word is the Redskins will make a claim (have made a claim?) on Sterling Moore today. Can't confirm yet

He probably could be our second best corner behind Josh Wilson. Surprising New England let him go, wonder if he butted heads with the coaching staff. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
I'm not sure he's totally healthy
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
He had some big plays for the Pats. I think he was just cut because they were desperately shuffling and trying to solve their secondary problems...like we should be doing now.
Definitely worth a shot. Hope we get him. |

I think bringing in Carpenter made it crowded for them. Moore could be serviceable...5-11 195lbs and has had some good games. Not sure where on the waiver wire we are...getting a CB that could start immidiately and let D Hall slide over to FS seems like a worthwhile gamble. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
What's so special about Moore? He was signed as undrafted FA by Oakland, cut and picked by NE who also cut him.

Dude at this point they could sign me. I'm 43, old and slow, but I won't cost the Skins 30 years in unsportsmanlike conduct penalties! AND I'll jam my WR off the LOS at least and try to slow him down. WRs just run free all over the field against our team. |

Lmao! At this point...why not? :) |
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
From web news today..has been slowed a bit by knee injuries, but was playing pretty well.
Moore was released four different times during the 2011 season, twice by the Raiders and twice more by the Patriots, before eventually sticking in New England. This season, Moore carved out a solid role as the Patriots nickel cornerback and developed into a fairly reliable contributor in an otherwise underachieving secondary. Only furthering the curiosity of his release. The Patriots boast the fifth-worst passing defense in the NFL, allowing opposing quarterbacks to throw for 281 yards per game, against a secondary that's been hampered by injuries in recent weeks. Moore has been among those ailing, dealing with a recurring knee injury since early in the season. Patrick Chung, Steven Gregory, Marquice Cole and Kyle Arrington have all been sidelined for varying amounts of time this season. Moore's release could be a sign of improving health for some if not all of those players, which would help tighten up that defensive unit. Meanwhile Moore, who still has practice squad eligibility -- although limited -- could be given some additional time to rehab. |

LT definitely thinks they should. He's been talking about how they fired Marty S. after a 14-2 season yet they haven't gone to the playoffs the last 2 years. He's calling for Norv and the GM's job. Just heard the Pats tradelod for Talib.Guess that explains Moore. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 9
I see why the Patriots cut that DB.
Aqib Talib traded to New England Patriots by Tampa Bay Buccaneers - ESPN Boston
The New England Patriots moved to bolster their porous secondary, acquiring cornerback Aqib Talib, who has one game remaining on a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. The Buccaneers announced the trade, completed before Thursday's 4 p.m. deadline, but didn't say what they are receiving in return. Talib is in the final season of his contract. The fifth-year pro said in a statement released by the Buccaneers earlier this month that he took an Adderall pill without a prescription "around the beginning of training camp." Talib was the 20th overall pick in the 2008 draft and was one of Tampa Bay's top defenders with 18 career interceptions. Talib's current suspension is his second of his NFL career. The 26-year-old was suspended without pay for the 2010 regular-season opener and also fined one additional game check for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy. That discipline stemmed from an altercation with a St. Petersburg cab driver during training camp in August 2009.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 9
New England moves as of late have been absolute shit. Chad Johnson, Albert Haynesworth
Talib, at least through the first 5 games, had been in bottom 5 cornerback on yards against. Maybe he had played better since, but he was terrible to start the season. |

The theme song is the worst ever. I do like Mike Mayock though, and the crew with Rich Eisen are always good. |
