I Apologize To You, Alfred Morris
This thread in no way is meant to be a duplicate of any of the other "Hail" or Kudos" to Alfred Morris threads posted.
I would like to apologize to Alfred Morris and who else on here would like to as well? I seriously laughed at this guy and doubted him at the beginning of the season. Not knowing his story at all or seeing any tape on him, i just wrote him off as another stopgap fill in running back low round draft pick that would be worse than royster, hightower and helu(none of whom i were particularly impressed with anyway). When i heard the name Alfred Morris, i thought of Marcus Mason.(Many of you remember him i'm sure). I was confident that our offense would falter from having some no named slow rookie running back who would miss blocking assignments and get RG3 killed. After the 1st game of the season in New Orleans when you ran for 96 yards and 2tds, i was hoping that your perfromance wasn't a fluke, but in reality i knew it was and said to myself "this guy won't keep that up!". After your early season fumbles, i was expecting for you to go to the end of the bench and sulk, hide, and become shell shocked like many other rookies. I'm sorry Alfred Morris but i'm glad you proved me wrong. If Adrian Peterson did not defy all health odds this year(which is what he did), you Alfred Morris would hold the rushing title in the NFL this year. What i am more impressed with is that the success of Morris is not the offensive line, it is not RG3, it is Morris himself. Yes, the line had opened up holes, but most of Alfreds good runs are him making defenders miss on the intial point of contact and creating yards that was never there in the first place. Yes, RG3 keeps teams from constantly stacking the box, but even when teams knew that Morris was running, they couldn't stop him. When Kirk Cousins started, Morris ran for 87 yards and 2 tds. Alfred Morris also taught me another thing. Pure speed does not define a running back. I called him slow and said that guy would never be able to get to the second level. Well, in order to get to the second level, you have to get past those first blocks, make correct reads and make people miss (which is why Chris Johnson's world class speed means nothing!). The Cowboys game last week showed me why Alfred Morris will not be a fluke, however he is the real deal and will be a 1,000 yard rusher for more years to come. |
Re: I Apologize To You Alfred Morris

Morris's fame has gone to his head and he now insists on the new first name "You." He should be called "You Alfred Morris" from now on. |

You should have went to Youtube.com and watched videos of Alfred Morris running for long gains at Florida Atlantic. In conjunction with Mike Shanahan's track record of drafting so many unheralded running backs, you should have just sat back and observed. The preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts at Fed Ex Field this past August was a strong indication like no other what Alfred Morris could do. Shame on you. |
Re: I Apologize To You Alfred Morris
The Shanahan's have a long history at FAU for......holding back there athletic teams.
Just ask You Alfred Morris.......... |

But take a step back and look at this realistically. We are all excited about beating Philly and Dallas, but both of those teams really do suck and were just always overrated. People are talking about playoffs when in reality, we may not even win another game and finish the season 5-11. This is how it could realistically pan out. Remaining games are: vs NYG=Loss- They are simply a better team than us on both sides of the ball and has gelled stronger as a team since we played them in week 7. vs Baltimore=Loss- Another good team who has had 4 game winning streaks TWICE this season @ Cleavland=Loss-Tough game. Cleavland took Dallas into overtime in Dallas. They don't have many weapons but Trent Richardson is a beast and they are a gritty tough nosed team. @ Philly=Loss-In Philly, tough environment. Got the upperhand on them the first time but teams adjust and watch tape for the second time you come up against them. Andy Reid may be trying to save his job so the team will come out hungry and prepared. vs Dallas=Loss. Same statement as above, we already played them once and teams adjust for the second matchup. Jason Garrett will propably be on the hot seat as well and desperate for this win. The Redskins have no homefield advantage playing in Fedex so that's not a pro against NYG, Bmore and Dallas. We also had and still have one of the worst if not worst passing defenses in the league as was on full display against Dallas in the second half. Josh Wilson and Deangelo Hall will not magically turn into Darrelle Revis/Champ Bailey and shut down Cruz, Nicks, Torrey Smith, Dez Bryant. Madoodoo Williams will not magically become a starting caliber NFL safety. The Redskins defense will not all of a sudden start generating pressure on the opposing QB without blitzing, Orakpo and Carriker. Jim Haslett will not transform into Dick Lebeau in the next few days. Kyle Shanahan will not turn into an offensive guru overnight and stop calling plays that make you scratch your head on 3rd and short. No harm in hoping for miracles but let's not get ahead of ourselves or too dissapointed if the above happens. Holy Crap...I would Bold the entire thing but that would exhaust my "Bold" allowance for the month...... |
Re: I Apologize To You Alfred Morris
This thread is full of hilarity. Yes I have nothing to add to that. Although I will say my favorite post was REDSKINS4ever chastising milellie for not recognizing the HOFer we drafted in the 6th round immediately.

You didn't know the once random guy we drafted out of FAU in the 6th round was going beat out Tim Hightower, Evan Royster, Roy Helu, Tristan Davis, Antwon Bailey and Lennon Creer to BALL at running back this year? You need to turn in your fan card ASAP. |

Re: I Apologize To You Alfred Morris
I never heard of Alfred Morris until the preseason but just seeing him run in those games I had a feeling that this guy was gonna be special, just the violence this guy had in his running game and then a friend of mine who son plays travel baseball told me a story.
There team met him at an airport and he signed autographs for all of them and one kid asked him what his touchdown celebration was. He said I don't have one but ill tell you what since I met you guys ill do one for you, thus was the birth of the home run swing TD celebration we have come to know and love. After that I drafted him in my fantasy draft and rode him all the way to the semi finals of my fantasy league. So I don't need to apologize but I will say THANK YOU!!!! Thanks for being a class act, dominant running back that we have been begging for. HAIL |
