Aldrick Robinson

Where has this man been? Why isn't Mike Shanahan using him? After that first win against the Cowgirls, he hasn't made hardly no offensive impact because he hasn't received much if any playing time. I was under the impression Robinson was going to be to the Redskins what Victor Cruz is to the Gwomen.

He's used for special occasions, i expect a sighting this Sunday.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets some looks on some deep shots in this game coming up.

As far as where he's been, I guess the four guys ahead of him have just been keeping him on the bench.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

According to this, he's still running the same routes, but defenses are backing up to guard against his speed, opening up routes underneath.

Here's the money quote from Kyle Shanahan:

“He’s been out there. He’s been doing the same stuff he’s been doing all year, but you only throw them to him when the coverage dictates it. Sometimes when you get a guy uncovered 50 yards down the field, teams tend to back up. He’s still running those same routes and stuff. Guys are backing up a little bit more and it really helps out guys underneath. He’s done a good job in a bunch of these games really scaring a lot DBs [defensive backs] and getting them out of there. It opens up stuff for people underneath and when he doesn’t, you’ve got to be willing to let it go.”

Re: Aldrick Robinson

Part of the issue is protection too -- RGIII hasn't had quite enough time to uncork one of the long thows in recent weeks, in part because his injury has hobbled him and he's not able to create as much time for himself and because teams realizing he may not be running as much are applying more pressure up front.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

I think we're going to need him this week against their big slower corners. Kyle's is going to have to open up the passing game a little more this week.

Just because their corners are big does not mean theyre slower. Browner and Sherman can both run very well. If anything we need to use their weight against them, double moves and such. Get their big bodies moving one way then breaking off a different direction. Sherman is very aggressive so we have to use that against him in the best way possible.

Sherman used to be a WR, that's what makes him a great DB. He knows the moves.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

They are an aggressive (overly so I believe) defense. We have plays built in to take advantage of that scheme, we just have to execute. I haven't seen one thing that makes me think we can't win this, but like every game leading up to this one, we can't afford multiple mistakes. Also, I don't see us getting multiple turnovers so it is on the offense to make the long drives necessary.

We know how good RGIII handles pressure whether it is the regular season or playoffs. My question is, can Wilson be as cool as RGIII under pressure?

Yes. Seattle has had one of the hardest schedules in the league. R.Wilson is legit. Didn't say he was better - I'd definitely take RG3 and give them 3 first round draft picks -- but just that Wilson is a gamer. Just see the 49er game, he killed them, handled pressure well.

BUT, really as RG3 himself said --> this is not a game against RG3 and Wilson -- the defenses, special teams, and running backs are all going to matter. Just a few game-changing plays could decide the game.

Want to see Aldrick sprint out there on Sherman - who's only got 4.54 speed..

I saw the game, it was in Seattle. Rookie QB first playoff game on the road 3,000 miles away. Wilson is great but he must have a chink in his armor, you could say the same about RGIII.

The refs let em play yesterday. Pushing and shoving is to be expected in a heated playoff game. I had no problem with how the game was called.

I hope Trent Williams doesn't get fined for pie facing Richard Sherman. He might've been better off punching him in the face if he were going to be fined.

Then you must have missed the Seahags Dback swinging Garcon around by his facemask after a play in the first Quarter. Piss-poor officiating, no excuse for it.

Yeah I thought things were a little too chippy after the whistle. I'm all for a good physical game but the after the play stuff is garbage.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

Did not catch who it was, but one of the Sea..chicks blind sided Robert well after the play and basically layed him out...like he was walking back to the huddle or off the field. A serious Puss move and in his condition, it did not do him any good. Should have drawn major penalty........alas
I was thinking, I wish Trent had seen that and done his duty. I could forgive him the penalty for that one.

Yeah the refs missed a few on them. They let it go a little too far a few times. Glad Trent slapped the shit out of Sherman. I can't stand that guy.

Sherman sure loves to talk trash after his team wins, but when he loses you don't seem to see him anywhere on the field

Well Tom Brady is a prick, so I might give Sherman the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Re: Aldrick Robinson

I was curious about Aldrick Robinson as well. I've heard mixed things but then again I think its all speculation.

Hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but if you look at our last two Super Bowls, we didn't necessarily have the greatest quarterbacks. Good, but just not great IMHO.

However what we did have was three stellar receivers - "The Posse". I know we have much bigger needs at the moment, but I think our passing game will be explosive with three great WRs. With RG3's status a little uncertain for next year, it would be a huge help for Cousins. Great news is that Garcon has been excellent.

At what caliber does Robinson perform? Is he just as capable as Garcon?
