As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...

What happened today doesnt matter anymore, its history.
We had a farging great year.
Remember the Vikings game? Holy crap!
7 wins in a row? WTF?
Sweeping Dallas, knocking out the Giants....
Oh and hey....we won the division.
We made the playoffs!
And I'm telling anyone with a pulse that RGIII will win three super bowls for us.
I'm calling four appearances and three wins.
Get ready for the long haul cause we're riding down the rails on the crazy train.
Congrats on a great season to our 2013 Washington Redskins!!!

(Did I mention we swept Dallas?)

We could have beat the Rams, Bengals, Steelers, Giants, panthers and Falcons too but we didn't.

IF it is a ligament tear, that never should have happened and RG3 may not come back from that.

We had James Andrews, the most recognized sports medicine doctor in all of sports on our staff, yet we still couldn't take his advice and take him out after the first reinjury in the 1st QTR.

Hopefully the MRI comes up negative or the 1.6 billion dollar franchise takes a huge drop in value...

Everyone's putting the fault on Shanahan, but honestly RG3 himself has got to be smarter. When he was pulled for ONE game, he complained about it, was bittter during interviews, and visibly was upset every time anyone asked him about the knee brace. He kept telling everyone he was fine, and put Shanahan in a spot where he pleaded to stay in the game and would have been pulled against his will. IF Shanahan pulled RG3, it would be with a lead, and I'm certain RG3 would have been pretty pissed off and showed it during interviews. Not sure if Cousins would have fared any better with the Seahawk defense..

Every player is going to want to play, but both Shanhahan and RG3 have got to be on board with saving his future, not just the coach.

On the other hand, why the f@#$@#$ did we not run the ball 90% of the time instead of RG3 bootlegs and runs in the 4th quarter?

May not come back? What is this 1950?

Andrews recommended that he should have stayed out? You sure about that?

Everyone needs to slow down the sarcasm on the post about his knee...

This one bent different than an LCL...

This one COULD be ACL/MCL... (You can walk on a torn ACL)

I'm not saying freak out, I'm saying... let's wait and see... If it's ACL, then He will not be starting Game 1 this fall.

I do want to say...

He seemed defiant and arrogant in his post-game conference, even saying when asked what he'd do if Shanahan would have pulled him earlier, he said he'd have been back out there, period (how you like them apples, Shanny).

He went on to say that he was clearly the best player to play quarterback for the Redskins and that's why he needs to be out there...

That's good to some I'm sure, the whole confidence thing... but I can see with him now (and Shanahan eluded to it in his post-game) that RG3 may be a little too self-involved to be honest about injuries, etc. AND, no matter what he says, he was not happy when Cousins went for 300 yds and 2 TDs when he was out.

He is athletically spoiled... used to being "The Man" and although in most cases that's great and all, that CAN be a negative when you are so narcissistic that you think no one else can help the team as much as you, even if you are playing on one leg and can't make one good throw for 2+ quarters straight... just in my meaningless opinion.

I am not bashing him... He's the best thing to happen to the 'Skins in forever... I'm just saying that I've finally found a little flaw, again, in my own opinion.

Hopefully he'll never be injured again and this "flaw" won't show back up!

I think he's just bummed about losing more than anything.

He's flashed hints of ego all season. I'm kinda amazed people are only picking up on it now. As I said earlier not that it's a bad thing, most superstar athletes are like that and he balances it out well enough.

He's more of a Peyton Manning then anything else. I mean lets look at the whole picture. He's incredibly smart. Loves to star in commercials. Unquestioned leader of the team. Studies like theres no tommorrow. The list goes on.

We're talking about a guy who got elected captain of a playoff team in his rookie year on a team with numerous veterans. Cam Newton on the other hand has been considered a terrible leader by teammates. He's also not nearly as articulate as Griffin though to be fair 99% of the population isn't.

skinsfaninok 01-06-2013 09:29 PM

Oh, trust me, I've noticed the exaggerated "swagger" all year... and it always borderline-rubbed me the wrong way...

But tonight he showed to the next level.

WITH ALL OF THIS SAID... Listen,

* He's 22 years old and LOVED and ADORED by EVERYONE
* He was a All-American hurdler as a freshman in college
* After being recruited by the big schools as a WR... He told everyone that he was going to play QB in the NFL and proved himself times 100 on that one
* Turned around a whole program at Baylor, took them to their first Bowl game in forever
* Won the Heisman
* A team traded 3 1st-Round picks for him
* etc, etc, etc... the dude has only experienced that HIS goals get achieved and what he touches turns to gold
* Did I mention he's only 22?

...meaning... OF COURSE he's going to have an ego, be narcissistic, etc... I'm just saying that the narcissistic thing that come from all of that is a flaw to me...

But... it's only 2% of the pie... the other 98% of my opinion on the guy is that he's manna from heaven... ha.

Also... his ego couldn't even fit in a ball room with Cam Newton's... it's no where near that level... I'm just saying that when things aren't going well, this will show again.

Footballs different but I will say you can be a bit of prick at QB and still have your teammates love you.
[YT]UsGTW_VVTkE[/YT]

So long as you don't get into Jay Cutler/Jeff George territory you're okay. And to be fair I haven't seen or heard of RG3 yelling at teammates though I think he told Trent Williams to shut up in a huddle during the offseason when Trent was joking around.

Aaron Rogers has a huge ego, he does a championship belt celebration after every touchdown.

Eli Manning called himself elite before he won another superbowl.

Tom Brady talks trash during games and laughed when someone said they wouldn't score 17 points before the superbowl against the Giants. I forgot the exact number of points and who said it.

Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Joe Namath... quarterbacks are arrogant. Rather have a quarterback that is arrogant than someone like Mark Sanchez.

All QBs that are arrogant have a reason to be. Sanchez is surrounded by a terrible coach and a terrible team.

Any attempt of Sanchez trying to be arrogant would be like the wimpiest kid on the playground declaring himself King of the monkey bars.

There's a difference between having an ego, which plenty of athletes do, and being a selfish unlikable brat like Cam Newton.

There's no real comparison there between RG3 and Cam. None.
