They should have retired this act in the 90's.

They needed to retire. It's a new era and the hogs simply aren't around and neither will they be coming back. I applaud their work in the community and charities and hope they continue as such. Hats off to these guys for their time and dedication.

The end of an era. I'm amazed they continued on for as long as they have. Love 'em or hate 'em, they are the representatives for our fanbase around the NFL. I wish them good luck in "retirement."

Actually....BITD, I think it began as a harmless statement of their right of Assembly as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and....they were unwanted at the Black Panther rallies.....

Say what you want if you liked them or not, I first learned about this because a Redskin legend called to tell me. He was sad to see them go. To him, it was an end to an era in Skins history. I then had a conversation with another legend who felt the same way.

(Yes, I am talking to lots of guys right now as I set up a big charity event).

They always seemed a little odd to me, but they were/are definitely die-hard fans and it's nice to know they used their 15 minutes to help out some good causes.

Here's a pic of me (in the Monk jersey, obviously) along with my Dad and cousin meeting up with some of the Hogettes during the HOF weekend the year Monk and Green were inducted.

The legendary Hog1 agree's 100%
I would have thought by now they would have sold a Hogette francise deal with some appearances and attractions at DisneyWorld with maybe a Hog McMuffin or other asundry food item sold at Johnny Rockets......

I think people like The Hogettes and Chief Z made game-day experiences more fun.

Re: 'Hogettes' retiring

The Hogettes have been there since Theismann and Riggins days. To see them go after all of this time is sort of sad. They've become such a huge part of cheering for the Redskins on game day that it's going to feel out of place not seeing them anymore.

Re: 'Hogettes' retiring

I find it pretty crappy how many people are hating on the hogettes. I remember seeing these guys at rfk, sometimes sitting near them same thing at fed ex. They kicked ass are you kidding me ? They rep the greatest era in Skins history they should get nothing but love. My first thought was ok, we need some fans to step up & replace them with their blessings. I know hardcore fans would gladly hogette up every week. In fact, now i hope it blows up and everyone starts doing it !!!!

100% same deal with Chief Z ...

Thats because he was getting punked by his own Jet fans!! lol.

I love cross dressing swine and Im not ashamed to admit it, and I will miss them.
But others will miss them more than me.

Re: 'Hogettes' retiring

Tell you guys a pretty cool story, or so I thought.

So Fri. night I watched the evening news (ch. 4) and saw that the Hogetts were retiring. To me no big deal but I know they have been around since the 80's. So later that night (11pm) I'm watching Family Guy and the wife walks in wanting to watch the news. I piss and moan and tell her no, then change it to ch. 4 and say see same BS from earlier. So she says change it to ch. 5 then. I change it and they are talking about the Hogetts again. Interviewing the head Hogett and they start showing pictures. I'm bored starting to complain and a picture pops up that catches my attention. The first full picture up has 4 Hogetts I think with my brother-in-law to their right (our left). Ok no big deal right.... my brother-in-law passed away a year ago. This picture was several years old cause he was looking a lot younger. He's the one with the maroon jacket, grey shirt, sun glasses and goatee.

My wife immediatly called her sister and she found it on myfoxdc.com. She was so excited to see him in the picture and sent the link to all of his family members. Thank You to whoever had the photo and gave it to Fox news. It made my night.

Man, the Hogettes were fun and a huge part of Redskins history. They remind me of those great 80's with the hogs, John Riggins, Joe Theismann, Art Monk, etc...
