My day with Chris Long

Got a pretty neat story for you guys. I work at Green Front Furniture in small town Farmville, Va and the Long family are frequent buyers of our furniture and oriental rugs. Well today was a slow day with it being very rainy and no customers really all day in the warehouse I work in. I got a page from my manager that Chris Long had come in with his fiance and needed to help him with purchasing some rugs for their house. I told him I was a big Redskin fan and that being a VT fan I got to see him play against us when he was at UVA. We talked about the NFC West and also his experience playing against RG3. I asked if he got any shots on RG3 and how fast he really is. He told me he got a few hits on him but nothing major and at that point in the year he was so fast on the edge and that you'll never know until you have to face him. He hit on the read option and why it gives DE's a lot of fits. He also joked that he thought the Rams had the Niners' number but they just needed to bring that consistency every week. I also hit on the possibility of Rob Ryan coming into run the defense and that he had murmurs of that and that he wouldn't mind standing up in a 3-4 however he still thinks Jeff wants to stick with the 4-3 and that Rob would still run that style of defense. I asked him about RG3's knee and he mentioned how a whole season wears on a player and that he thinks there should be some concern with how he plays but that he's young enough to bounce back and learn how to protect himself a little better. The two ACL injuries on the same knee is also concerning but there is no doubt his motivation and drive should put him back on the field soon. We talked more in depth about the bounce back of the NFC West and how competitive he thinks it will be now with Wilson becoming a star now and Colin now leading the charge in San Fran. Cool guy and also wasn't as tall as I thought but he's super strong lifted up a 12x18 rug with me like it was nothing. Thought ya'll might enjoy the read. Hail!

Family of football players, another great season for him too. Rams have a playoff defense in the making. That NFC West will be hard to beat.

Yes we did talk about Kyle. Said he wished he got to see Oregon and Kyle play against Alabama. Kyle got denied eligibility next year so he'll be headed into the draft. Very good prospect for sure.

Great story man thanks for sharing that! My nephew lives in Farmville and I've done a lot of fishing up there. He owns Raynors Painting. Personally I love the area but would never expected someone like Chris Long to shop there. Lol! Thanks again for sharing. Must have been a cool experience. :)

Re: My day with Chris Long

Yeah we have 16 buildings of different types of furniture and rugs. I've worked there for around a year now and actually haven't been around all of them. And it actually is pretty common to see the Long family there. Chris Long actually is a frequent buyer there, I actually helped Ralph Sampson out this summer too. Never know who will walk in there. Pretty popular place for furniture. Not uncommon at all too see people with a lot of money shop there for beach houses, lake houses etc.

Assuming he just signed a 4 year extension worth a ton of money I think he'll be staying put in St. Louis. But yeah that would be awesome. But Kerrigan and Orakpo aren't too bad either. Haha

I was asking about furniture and may be interested in meeting with you in a few months as we are building a new house. Do you only sell rugs?

Been a number of years since I have been to Greenfront but I was most impressed by what all was there. Some very high end stuff.
