Around the NFL Off - Season style.

Well now that it's over it's hit me, no more football until July/ August. Sigh.. was a crazy season like most are. I figured we can Discuss the Off season here.

Any bold predictions on player movement?
I'll Start by saying Wes welker will play in Dallas next year and Chris Johnson will play for the jets

Probably going to be the most optimistic offseason we've had since 2000.

Can't wait for next season! As long as we have RG3, Rak, and Carriker back!

I think Jenkins on the DL takes a big step too.
I think Jenkins on the DL takes a big step too.
Yeah, last season really was his "rookie" year. If Bowen/Cofield/etc. step up, our D might be pretty good next season. (Not holding my breath because of our secondary...)

skinsfaninok 02-04-2013 07:07 PM

I think Crawford becomes our number 2

Correct me if I am wrong but it seemed as though Bowen and Cofield stepped up this year.

Fletch will sign for one more season. RG3 will return too soon!

Where will Alex Smith land? Or Matt Flynn?

Leave the Jets or the NFL?

If there was a FA I would target it would be Isaac Sopoaga, he would be a natural NT at 6'2" 330lbs. and a moose of a man. He's 31 YO and still productive.

The Redskins will sign Jarius Byrd to play FS and draft a quality right tackle in the 2nd round of the draft.

Haha, I hear ya, Im one of those weird people that see him as a good, (if given the chance, a great player). Not sure what Im seeing that many others are not. Oh well, no need to discuss. Unless he ends up a Redskin of course...

The 49ers will beat the Denver broncos in the Super Bowl next year.

London returns for one more year.

We don't sign a big name FA and let Polumbus walk.

I like this, but the only problem is that you would have a crowded DE position. I think Cofield would be a beast at DE, but what do you do with Carriker and Bowen?

Oh, brother....are you in anyway suggesting that the NY Giants will play in the SB next season on their own home field? That's a really bold prediction, home boy.

I'm mostly concerned about the Redskins secondary and what plans the front office has in order to address it. Do we sign Darius Byrd in free agency? Or do we draft Phillip Thomas or Baccari Rambo in the draft?

Deion Sanders is one dumb mother ****er. I suppose when you make a living out of avoiding contact like he did his whole career, you aren't going to suffer any lasting effects from concussions.

What he said was dead on. A lot of the guys on the lawsuit are trying to get paid. People may not want to hear it but it's the truth.

skinsfaninok 02-05-2013 11:00 AM

Deion isn't the only one who has said that. I forgot who it was maybe Christian fauria on first take but he pretty much said the same

It's like those that are still in denial over climate change. Straight up ignorant. Sure there are probably some players trying to jump on the gravy train, but there's so many well documented cases of guys with brain damage, guys who are dead before the age of 50, etc. It's unbelievable that anyone can deny the long term effects of the equivalent of getting in a car crash on a weekly basis for years on end.

No, what he said was idiotic, not dead on.
As for Seau's suicide, here's what he said to a Twitter follower who questioned Sanders' ill-advised take on concussions and brain trauma. (Sanders has since removed the tweet.)

DeionSanders ✔ @DeionSanders

@NotTheFakeAdam u ever wonder why u never of heard the problem b4 the end. Im on the inside looking out. You're outside looking in. Think

Remember that doctors have already linked Seau to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a neurodegenerative condition that can lead to memory loss, dementia and depression. Are we supposed to believe science or Sanders? It's not a hard choice.

No, what he said was idiotic, not dead on.
What he tweeted about Seau was insensitive. But is there any real proof that whatever Seau had made him pull the trigger? A lot of people suffer from depression/ memory loss and DON'T kill themselves. Only Seau knows the real reason and he took it to his grave. The media will spin it and say he took too many hits, therefore he killed himself, but again, only Seau knows why. We can only speculate.

What was quoted on NFL Network was very accurate. I even think a kicker is part of the suit.

The Super Bowl next year is not at Fedex, as you said. But the NFC championship game will be at Fedex. :)

Who would want to play in the snow in the SuperBowl next year in Giant's stadium? What a terrible location. I mean the game was already 4 hours long this year, and it will probably be below 30. People will be leaving after the halftime concert, just to go get warm next year.

I think this is such a terrible idea...I wouldn't even want the SB here in DC in an open stadium. As Bill Simmons said it once, the Super Bowl should be held in only three places: Miami, New Orleans, and San Diego.

Actually I agree with you,my idea was the home stadium of the winning super bowl team the year before should host the next years game.
