Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
With less than a month remaining before the NFL Draft, ESPN analyst Mel Kiper predicts that the Redskins will select UConn cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson with the 51st pick of the draft.

Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
Not that I wouldn't take him, but he's never been very consistent with picking our picks.. I don't remember the last time he was correct in predicting our picks.

Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
No one is really consistent with anything outside of the top 10... these mock drafts after the first round are pretty stupid.
|
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
I don't trust Uconn defenders. They're all great in their defensive system. But when they get to the NFL, they don't pan out. Tyvon Branch & Kendall Reyes are the only exceptions. If theres other big school CBs on the board, get them. Let other teams take these guys.

The only thing the early Mocks are good for is news.

I would say they are good for giving fans like me who don't delve into college football some names of who might. be available for the Skins. To let us get some name recognition when our spot does finally roll around. |
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
I would venture to say that NO ONE in the country had us taking Josh L last year in the third or any other team. Our FO is very quiet with how they really, and honestly I love that about these guys.

Which will blow your minds when we draft Brad Wing in the 7th |

Brad Wing? Seriously? I can't tell if you're serious or kidding. |
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
No idea who Brad Wing is or if he is even real. To lazy to google it

Punter, LSU. |

I was joking about brad wing. But hell, like we've already said you never know who were gonna get/don't rule out anyone

Agreed. They're fun to read and listen to (NFL radio guys do alternating picks that I find interesting). I use it to get a group of players that will be available around our picks. |
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
Don't want him.
|
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
How'd that work for you Mel?
|
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
I'd guess most everyone's mocks were blown to shit pretty quickly.
|
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
Sure just like cousins was a horrible pick too. Kiper sucks. We got 2 value defenders in this draft something's gonna work I know it. Jordan reed will be a playmaker too well limit his blocking and use him strictly as that mismatch. Shut up Mel.

Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
Stop bashing Kiper.

Mel Kiper is a tool and he has no upper lip.

Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
I think Kiper still thinks Seattle had a terrible draft last year.

Is it possible to draft terribly but get lucky as hell? Not saying that was what Seattle did, I am just curious if people think that it's always FO skill that determines the draft class' ultimate grade, or can bad drafters luck into good draft classes? |

Well to be honest you do see bad teams consistently draft poorly and they rarely turn out any good players besides their 1st round pick (Raiders, Bills, and Cardinals). I think coaching has a lot to do with how a player will turn out as well. It's extremely hard to say a team had a bad draft when you have not even seen how the teams will use the players skill set. Supposedly the Redskins also had a bad draft class this past year outside of RG3, but we all know there were plenty of impact rookies. I think Kiper is good at evaluating prospects, he has hits and misses, just like everyone does, but I do not like when people try to grade a draft class. |

IMO the answer is yes. Luck plays a role in football, including in the draft. For a famous example, if the Pats knew that Brady was Brady, they would have chosen him earlier in his draft. Over and above things like coaching, the Pats were lucky that a 6th round pick turned into an elite QB. |

Here's a question that will "bake your noodle"- would Brady have become what he is today if he wasn't drafted in the 6th round and he was drafted in (let's say) the 1st round? Being drafted so late became the fuel for his fire. |

Mayock was the only one close on his picks. Even during the draft he was dead on with some things outside of his draft. |

Yes I agree. It doesn't matter if he's wrong with his predictions. Everyone is. Even NFL teams really don't know who they will pick before the draft. They might have an idea of who they like and will be available, but aren't really sure. I respect Kiper because he works hard and he is informational and at the very least entertaining in my opinion. |

Good question and who really knows the answer. However, if Brady had been drafted in the first round, he might still have fire, just a different one, such as the true pride of being a first rounder. |

Mayock is probably the best NFL draft analyst on TV. |
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
I didn't even switch to ESPN's coverage once. Mayock all day any day.
|
Re: Kiper projects UConn’s Blidi Wreh-Wilson to Redskins in second round
Yeah this marked the first year I watched a majority of NFL Network over ESPN. I'm glad I did that.
|
I don't mind kiper as just draft coverage but when he starts predicting teams records and who will.win the super bowl it's just stupid. He basically picks the same teams every year to be good.
Baltimore Ne Philadelphia Last year he said philly was going to the Superbowl and this year he says they will win the east... Um they were 4-12 last yr and have not even addressed that piss poor d |

Same here. Mayock is the best in the business. Anyone is better than Peter King who got 2 of the first 32 picks right...and still makes huge dough somehow. |
