Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Ramsey Better be ready this year, He will be well protected, have a good WR core, and a Top 5 RB in this league, I expecting hella things out of Ramsey, at least 24td &9ints, 3200 yrds, and a QB rating of 85%, is that asking to much guys, please chime in...
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Good WR core?$&*#*?$#?
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
well i say 9 ints isn't something that can happen. 24 tds is a little much to be asking of someone who threw ten last year. i would say a qb rating of 80% is better. 3200 yards is a little too much also. i would say somewhere between 2200 yards and 2800 yards.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
How do you know he will be protected? He didn't have great protection at the end of the year last year. Granted he should be, but nothing is guaranteed.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Man ya'll ant very optimistic!
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
no, but i think we will have better pass protection because the line will look like this. samuels, dockery, rabach, thomas, jansen. it will be an upgrade from last year. last year it looked like this. samuels, dockery, raymer, thomas, and ray brown filling in for jansen. we had a lot of injuries on the o line last year.

qb ratings dont go by percentages and 2200 yards blows...thats only 137.5yds/game |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
i think the whole damn team ought to be ready.these guys make outrageous money,
and most of the offense played like crap last year.wake up and eliver this year guys! :smashfrea [img]http://www.24fanclub.com/ecommerce/pictures/2/TRTF2027_sm.jpg[/img] |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I think if Gibbs really changes the offense like he says we would, I could see Ramsey getting about 3,000 yards give or take a couple hundred, about 20 tds, 11 INTs and a comp % around 59. with jansen protecting his back, the addition of rabauch, as well as 2 years in gibbs' and bugels system will afford Ramsey much better protection and awareness than he has had in the past.
but then again I'm just hoping for ONE single year with only 1 qb needing to be used. |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
i hate too say it but i see ramsey getting hurt early and hassellbeck having a hell of a year.

I was thinking the same thing Mooby.........a healthy Jansen will upgrade the line, as well as our new center. Our receivers our decent enough, remember we have Portis.....we don't have to have our offense looke like the Indianapolis Colts with bombs away.....just a nice balanced offense, with some throws DOWN THE FIELD..........that would be sweet! :coach: |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I hope the line is better, I just don't know.
On another note, Hasselbeck sucks and will never have a hell of a year. |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
hasselbeck doesnt suck he's just too inconsistent
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
passing for 2200 yards is very, very, very few for a starter...id say around 3k if he plays all the games
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
2800 yards, 19 TDs, 17 INTs, 59% completion, 80 QB Rating.
I think he's a sturdy kid and can make it all 16 games, but the fact of the matter is hardly any QBs in the league play in every single game. I'll figure he plays 14 games and puts up 2800 yards, which works out to 200 per game. Gibbs' offense is still conservative, but 200 a game will be a slight step up from Ramsey's pace last year, which is reflective of the speedy receivers and going deep a bit more often. On the TDs, I see him stepping it up a bit to 19 TDs in 14 games. I think he found a rapport with Cooley in the red zone at the end of last year which will continue, and I think Santana Moss will add some homerun capability that Coles didn't provide with his bum toe. On the completion percentage, last year he was at 62%. I think if they're going to go deep a bit more, the completion % drops a bit to 59%. Interceptions, last year he had 11 INTs. But remember, 3 of those were in that game where he came in and tried to dig the Redskins out of a hole when Brunell got hurt. I think it was against the Giants? In his 7 starts he had 8 INTs. So this season I say that trend continues, 17 INTs in 14 games. Last season his QB rating was 74, with that horrible Giants game dragging it down. In his starts, it was better, I think around 80 or so. I'll go with that 80 figure, but if he can hit on some homerun passes to Moss & Patten, and still manage to keep the INTs down, I could see him getting up to a 90 rating. I don't see him making the pro bowl, but if he can play like I describe above, and Portis has a good year, I think that's good enough to go to the playoffs. |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I really don't think the original projections by wewhite are too far off what I am expecting. A passer rating of 85.0 would have been basically middle of the road in the NFL and not unlike what he posted in his starts last year. 24 TDs is a fair amount, especially in a run-based offense, but its possible. 9 INTS is kind of few, but also possible. I think something like 21 TDs and 12 INTs is very reasonable. 3000 yards is also easily attainable if he plays all 16 games.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he should complete at least 60% of his passes in this offense.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I see the Skins surprising everybody behind the underrated wr corp, ST and the nasty D, and Ramsey the gun slinger...
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
heybigstar, might be time to change that sig
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I think Ramsey is going to have a great year in 2005. With Jansen back and a year under his belt with Gibbs Ramsey should be primed and ready to go.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Most definitely. A lot of people are waaay too pessimistic. We HAVE seen signs of greatness out of Ramsey. I definitely think he has it in him and with an upgraded line and WR corps, I think this might be his breakout year.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Ramsey does NOT need to complete 60% in a Gibbs offense. In '87, the year we won with Doug Williams, he only completed somewhere around 56%, and in '91, Mark Rypien hit 59%, made the Pro Bowl, and got Super Bowl MVP. I know it's a new era of football with new expectations, but I don't think a guy needs to hit 60% to do well. We just need to hit the necessary throws on third down and get the deep ball when opponents stack for the run.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Exactly, AND the playcalling will be a bit more aggresive this year too.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Ramsey does not need to comlete 100% of his passes he does not need to complete 30% of his passes. He does not need to throw more than 20 TD's or less than 10 INT's. Rating Schmating. Patrick Ramsey needs to go 4-2 against the NFC East, 3-1 against the NFC West, and 3-1 against the AFC West. And beat either Chicago or Tampa. However his numbers look after that is ok with me.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
yeah we were horrible on third down last year. with an upgraded o line, a nasty defense that will be even nastier with lavar back, okay special teams (im still feeling the loss when we let baltimore win the game by that punt return, and when we could've had a shutout of new york if we didn't give up that kick return), and c.p. we will easily make the playoffs. how about portis's numbers. i see him getting around 1800 yards if he's healthy, and about 15 rushing touchdowns. portis would've had 1500 yards last year if it wasn't for those games where he had like 55 yards, 17 yards, etc.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I'm also excited to see a rejuvenated line to be able to open the running game up (and passing game).
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
hey drago, who do you think we will lose against in the nfc east, the nfc west, and against the afc west? i think we could easily beat philadelphia,(lets not forget how close we came last year, until ramsey threw that int), we can easily beat st. louis(they have lost easy games last year), and if you think we are gonna lose to the raiders in the afc west you are mightily mistaken cuz even with randy moss they still won't win(look back to our game against the vikes last year).

Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
:biggthump 16-0 baby.

I think we can beat NYG twice they don't impress or scare me. Philly is beatable and that's why we'll split with them. Dallas is extremely beatable for everyone in the league but us so we'll split with them. In the AFC West, I think we have everyone handled except KC. They still have Holmes and a pretty goob QB in Green(Ex-Redskin). The NFC west is tricky. If we lose to San Fran or Ariz we don't deserve 10-6 anyway, but STL and Seattle are dangerous when the want to be. Even if we lose to both Tampa and Chicago that still puts us at 10-6 with good AFC and NFC and Div. records. We cannot, under and circumstances, get swept by any of thes divisions. |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Exactly. For some reason, it still blows my mind that KC is ANY good.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I think the offensive playcaller better be ready!
Uh - you seen their Oline and TE, Malcolm? They also have a pretty good RB.... Offense can win games too! |
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I know, I know. It still blows my mind. I can think of a base of only 3 playmakers. I'm thinking they are a product of a GREAT offensive line.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Ramsey is capable of 20 plus td throws. I like Hassellbeck. Don't have the strongest arm, but has alot of fire in his gut.
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
roaf and shields can each take out 3 guys a play... that helps...
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
Thanks guys.....this was fun....but if Ramsey do hit my marks pretty close.....Say Hello Playoffs
|
Re: Patrick Ramsey better be Ready!!!!!
I would like him to do well, but I could care less what his numbers are as long as he wins! It's like the question: Would you rather have P. Manning with all his stats, or Brady who just wins? I'd take Brady.
This team is really starting to look like it is being modeled after the Pats, with a tough QB, a good line to protect him, a bunch of good receivers but no true #1, a quality RB, and a top defense. Not to mention working on a budget and letting players go if they will cost too much. It's that blue-collar mentality that ironically is how Gibbs teams in the 80's were built. I'm expecting some very good things this year! |

He's very consistent. That clipboard stays at a 35 degree angle the whole game. BOO-YAH! |
