Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
I guess NFL.com is doing the top plays of 2012 as well as the top <fill in blank here> of 2012.
As minicamp for the 2013 year starts, what was your favorite play of 2012; 1st Giants game: 4th and 10 -Griffin to Paulsen [YT]uLv0hS5n5X0[/YT] 1st Giants game: Moss TD reception with 1:36 to go [YT]niey00SmjaU[/YT] Saints game: Garcon 88 yard TD [YT]PMzSqsxdvIc[/YT] Vikings game: Griffin 76 yard run [YT]PbuAELRHsPU[/YT] Other, if you choose other, try to include the video of it. I am pretty sure that I didn't get all the highlight reel plays from the offense, probably missed a big one or two, so feel free to add to this! |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
RGIII to Moss TD against the Weasles, where Moss had to break a tackle.
|
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
Gryphon run against Minny. Downright electric.
|
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
Griffin's 76 yard run was one of those jump out of your chair moments.

Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
Yeah I mean that Griffin run was amazing and is definitely the most memorable of all skins fans.
The game he had against Dallas on Thanksgiving had a lot of great plays, as did New Orleans. I could post the ones you all remember very clearly, but I'm going to post the ones not many people talk about. QB Griffin to TE Davis, 26-yd, pass - NFL Videos This was a great play by Fred Davis and an equally great play by RG3. It was this throw that made me drop my jaw and just go "Wow..we really do have that franchise QB now." The next play which doesn't really get talked about (probably like the other one because they didn't result in TDs) was against Dallas when DeMarcus Ware and RG3 were at full health. Griffin showed to us again, as well as the whole nation, how quick his release was. Sure the play was just a first down gain, but if RG3 holds onto that ball a millisecond longer its a sack or sack fumble or incomplete and he just got drilled for nothing. Its a play like this that separates him from other QBs in the NFL. [YT]5ilGFV_cOH8[/YT] And if you all want a TD from a loss.. [YT]RTnZM-KHIMs[/YT] |

Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
The Minny run. Mostly because it was at home, clinched the game and had the roar of the crowd along with it.
The Giants 4th down conversion play is one that leaves you wondering how the hell did he just do that. |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
88 for 88. Did not vote for the run because it was a scramble - not by design. If was stated most electric then it would e the run - hands down....
|
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
The "88 for 88" play. When that happened, you knew the season was going to be special.
If only Garcon could have stayed healthy last season.... |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
All of the above , Griffin made a careers worth of plays last year !
|
rob Jackson's INT to win the east. That was pure sweetness.
Robert had so many special plays, for him alone I'd have to say the TD pass to moss against the giants , even though we lost that pass showed that he is an elite passer not just runner. It was a dime |

My 1 year old started crying because I scared him Lol |

Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
^its good smoot, but not better than the options in the poll above.

Also thought of doing best defensive plays poll, but hadn't gone and looked for more plays than the Jackson Int. |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
Man it's easy to forget how great a block Morgan had on that 76er. Sold the pass then sealed the outside. Just a great play for the offense overall that let RGIII really use his amazing skills to do something special. The play against NYG on 4th and 10 was great but the Minny TD run is remembered for years in the end.

Lets have some balance here. RGIII is not the only player on O making plays.

Clinched the Div, playoffs, 200 yards for the game.

Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
The 76 yard run by Griffin is my personal favorite, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the ridiculous Garcon catch and run from the Thanksgiving game. The catch itself was acrobatic. Then he turned on the jets and split about five Dallas defenders for a 59 yard touchdown. All on a bad foot.
does anyone know if that would cause the new 15 yd penalty?
The rule doesnt apply within the tackle box up to three yards down field. It was within 3 yards but what I dont know is with it being a stretch run, does that constitute the tackle box moving with it. I am also not sure if both condition need to apply or just one, meaning outside the tackle box but within 3 yards of the LOS is still fine. It was outside of where the tackle lines up but it was cut back behind the tackle. That also doesnt seem like the full contact was the crown of the helmet to me. While he lowers his head, he makes contact with both the helmet and shoulder. If that is a penalty, then the NFL may as well just outlaw running the ball. |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
In terms of RG3's passing skill set, while the Moss NYG throw was awesome... I thought the ones against the Eagles (in Philadelphia) and at Dallas on Thanksgiving (right before the half) were just amazing throws (and also an incredible job by Moss to keep both feet in).
For everything that guy did though, I think Cousins 2 point conversion was my favorite play of the year (mainly cause I thought we had no chance about 5 min before that play). I went nuts. |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
I loved the 4th and 10 at the Giants. It brought Griffin into the Giants head, and even now players like Rolle and Osi are not willing to trash talk. The Vikings TD run, while great (and admittedly the diagram of it is still my phone's wallpaper), was all about Griffin's speed and acceleration, the 4th and 10 was about his ability to avoid the rush, use his vision, and see the field. It also was about his receivers finding open spots and not giving up on the play. On the whole, that play shows why, whether his speed is lost or not, he will always give defenses fits.

Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
The problem with the Santana catch was that it was too good. We scored too quickly.

No such thing as 'scoring too quickly' if your D is sound. |
Re: Best Redskins Offensive play of 2012
OK kids, the word of the day is "electric". :D
I voted for the 76-yard run. It was downright nuclear. |
