What's Your Drink?
I know we've done this thread before but it's been a while and I think it might have been before the switch over last February:
When I'm not tipping back some milk or Gatorade, I'm all about the Rum and Coke (even rum and sprite is pretty good) How about the rest of you? What's your drink? |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Southern Comfort straight up is my favorite drink...although i don't drink it anymore...way too many bad nights. I stick with beer these days, preferably Sam Adams Light.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Either a Margarita, a Seabreeze or shots of SOCOM
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Tanqueray and tonic baby. Only way to go.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Wow. It depends on the season/weather.
Warmer weather and evening you go with darker liqour. Daytime you go with light! 7-7 is always good, jack and coke is a good casual drink, I like the occassional scotch on the rocks, Sambuka (sp?), Mescal, tanqueray and tonic is great!, Amaretto Sour, Long Island Ice Tea, Tom Collins... the list goes on. My favorite drink? Manhattan on the ROCKS. Not in the fruity glass! Nothing like it. Two cherries. It's a lot of booze, but I like it! |
Re: What's Your Drink?
for me its either screwdrivers, margaritas, tequila straight up, or an ice cold bud, but I'm always open to atleast try pretty much anything that doesn't have kalua or yagermeister(sp?) in it. I can't remember what was in it but at one bar I had a mixed drink called "dirty bong water" and it was awesome. it looks like green ooze but tasted kind of like berry kool aid with a really nice kick to it.
and anybody that likes margaritas I heavily recommend TGIF's. thing comes in a huge glass and even though I'm not that big of a drinker, it was gone before the waitress came back with my salad. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Ewww! Bud. It's like drinking a headache! ;)
I forgot to mention Hummer-Bomb. Redbull with 1/2 a shot of malibu and 1/2 a shot of hypnotiq. Drop it in, chug, love it! |
Re: What's Your Drink?
My prefered drink is rum (really good rum) straight up. But at the bars I'm usually drinking Grey Goose/Tonic or Jack/Ginger Ale......
For all of you Jack/Coke drinkers, I recommend you try Jack/Ginger.......it tastes so much better. My prefered beer is Heineken, or Amstel Light. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Right now its Red Hook Ale, Fat Tire, or any other choice microbrews.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Jack, straight up.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Ice Cold Beer.
Not a big fan of any type of hard alchol; the most of the time. I like some mixed drinks, but for most of the time; I like beer. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
if you like margaritas, go to latolteca (mexican restaurant owned and operated by real mexicans)...
sprite or orange crush here... |
Re: What's Your Drink?
steel reserve malt liquor, soo good and probably national bohemian.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
let's see...
beer wise...if i'm drinking socially, it's a light beer (bud or miller, never coors, unless it's free). i prefer a nice black and tan (guinness and bass) or half and half (guinness and harp) if drinking a beer with dinner. i'll try just about anything beer wise. one of my faves right now is Sam Adams White Ale (similar to Blue Moon). Very tasty, especially when garnished with an orange (trust me). liquor wise...my faves are 7&7, any good irish whiskey (Bushmills, Jameson) and ginger ale, any rum (especially the capt) and diet coke (diet coke, no sugar, less hangover) with lime (cuba libre), and i make a mean margarita (over the rocks, never frozen...frozen margaritas are for women and children ;)). if you're ever in Howard County, hit a place called El Azteca in Clarksville (108 and 32)...great margaritas there. oh, and jack and ginger is good...however, i rarely ever touch jack anymore. he and i have an agreement...i don't mess with him and he doesn't mess with me (let's just say i had the brains to help myself to an entire fifth one night...and i'll leave it at that). i've always been a jim beam guy anyway, since that was the first liquor i snuck out of my parents' liquor cabinet. shot wise...soco and lime, jager, kamikaze, lemon drops, sex on the beach, sambuca, tuaca, goldschlager, black haus, rumple minze...all chilled nicely and if you have the cash, get yourself some cabo wabo tequila. the shit is so damn smooth. no harsh, knock you on your ass aftertaste with cabo wabo...it'll impress your mother-in-law. i might be partaking in all this stuff tomorrow night...my bachelor party has arrived. and i have no f'ing clue as to what i'm doing or where i'm going...just the way i like it. |

Can you get Dogfish Head beer where you are? I know the owner, and they've got a few great beers. I've been on a red wine jag for the past year or so. At games I regress to my beer and shot days, but when I drink socially, I've been enjoying Italian Reds lately. |

Make sure she likes football! Tuaca was my poison years ago. I drank so much of it they used to send me a Christmas card. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Congrats BD! :food-smil
I got a little buzzed just reading your post :party-smi |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Makers Mark on the rocks, can't beat it.

Re: What's Your Drink?
I'm a beer man through and through. My 21st birthday ruined my from liking hard liquor anymore. I'm still recovering from it and it's been almost 2 and a half years ago. As far as beer is concerned, I definitely like to drink socially and WHEN I drink socially, I also go light. I love to get completely and utterly hammered when I drink so I like to put away 16-18 bottles of Bud/Bud Light.
When I'm having a meal or just hanging out, it definitely depends on the season. I'm a big fan of Molsen Ice, Labatt Blue (I'm sure these are Canuck's favorites), Corona and the extremely hard to find, Bud Dry. When I DO drink liquor, I'm a fan of Vodka and Sode with lime. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
To whoever said Steel Reserve, you ever try the REAL St. Ides? GODDAMN, that is some strong shit.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
My favorite drink is Dr. Pepper, but daseal is gonna pick me up some Dr. Riffic (rated #1 fake Dr. Pepper at www.fakedrpepper.com) from Eckerds so I can give it a try too.
As for the alcoholic stuff, I've never had any, not a drop, and I'm almost 23. Funny thing is that my grandfather had the first registered winery in the state of Virginia. |
Can you get Dogfish Head beer where you are? I know the owner, and they've got a few great beers.
the summer after i turned 21, i lived off Shelter Pale Ale the entire summer...no matter where i was in Rehoboth, Dewey, etc...i was drinking good ole Dogfish Head! i can get it up here in MoCo at a few places...if you want to get hammered off a 6 pack or less (and get find it), I highly recommend Immort Ale by Dogfish Head. Stuff will knock you on your ass if you're not careful. Thanks Brud, TMC...i got my future wife into a lot of sports...she actually can watch an entire Skins game without constant chatting interruptions...she doesn't do it often, but can do it. i got her a LaVar jersey for Christmas... TMC, when you mentioned St Ides, all I could think of is the Samuel Jackson skit from Chapelle's Show... and i'm a fan of Canadian beers...Labatt Blue is by far my fave... oh, and if you ever find yourself wandering towards the Eastern Shore, there is a bar in Salisbury called The Bottle Factory...they have Bud Dry (it's a fave of the owner, and it's part of their Century Beer Club)...it's also at a beer store around the corner from my house. |

The Immort Ale is tasty, but my favorite was their seasonal Pumpkin Ale. Most of the small brewers do that one now, but I drank from Dogfish's first batch, and it was stellar. I haven't had Bud Dry since my last trip to the "Hall of Foam" that used to be at Arena's in Rehoboth about 10 years ago. My personal best - 50 beers in 3 days. I could have gone faster, but I didn't have a day off until the third day. I'm sure my borderline alcoholism is a surprise to no one. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
I swear... EVERYWHERE in the country they sell Bud Dry except anywhere near where I live.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
BDBonzie, I also bought my gf an Arrington jersey. You KNOW you bought it for her in hopes of connecting her more with the sport so that she'll care even more. :) I know how that goes dude. In my case, it worked. She's a freak. I keep trying to get her on this site but she has better things to do at her job.

Re: What's Your Drink?
St Ives... Wu-Tang once did one of their commercials.
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
I couldn't imagine what though... :P
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
Dude, after you told me that I had to drive all the way back to my college town to buy a 40 of it. That's the most thug thing I've ever heard.

Which of course Brud did to pee his way out of an avalanche |

Yes, the Pumpkin Ale is quite tasty...a buddy of mine and i finished a 6er off after a Terps game this past fall. Arena's is probably the one place in Rehoboth i've never been...go by it all the time when i go to the mizzen mast to get my buffett t-shirts...just never wandered in. it was something different before arena's, but i can't place my finger on what it was called... 50 beers in 3 days...dude, you're not an alcoholic...alcoholics go to meetings...you a drunk just like the rest of us ;) TMC, my fiancee decided to like LaVar before she liked football...what is it with girls liking players because of looks. then that damn show came out (while you were out on discovery), she saw it and said, he's my favorite player. damn women! so i got her the jersey...she was extremely pissed at him this year because he was hurt... |
Re: What's Your Drink?
It's been Arena's for nearly 14 years - htey just keep adding to it and expanding. It used to be half the size on the inside, with no deck.
They also used to have full bands in there back then. Love Seed played there and took up a third of the building just setting up. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
eh, maybe i'm thinking of something else...i could have sworn it was though...oh well...all that beer is killing my brain cells ;) my family basically lives down there each weekend during the summer (May to September), and since my mom isn't too fond of delis, we never head over there. maybe one weekend, i'll grab my dad and we'll go.
i was too young to drink at the country squire, but i do remember those tasty breakfasts there...now, we either wait in line at the royal treat, or make it ourselves... |
Re: What's Your Drink?
I drank at the Squire maybe twice in my life. It was the place to go if you drank all might and wanted to keep going at 9 am.
I basically live down here from May to May. Jealous? :) |
Re: What's Your Drink?
TMC...you could always call one of the local distributors and see if they send it anywhere...
http://www.abwholesaler.com/asp/directory/locator.asp |
Re: What's Your Drink?
jealous during the off-season...hell yes. it's so nice to be able to walk the boards in october and not have to deal with all those frickin' people
jealous during the season...a little. gorgeous weather, but the touristy type people (i don't really consider myself a tourist anymore...20 year summer veteran) can be quite annoying, especially when they hog up the shoreline, and you can't help put step over people getting to the ocean |
Re: What's Your Drink?
Yeah, it's funny how many female Tom Brady fans are out there.
"Brady is a running back right?" -Typical female quote |

We actually go on vacation every June... to a different beach. |
Re: What's Your Drink?
BDBonzie, I've never bought beer straight from the distributor. So I just call them and ask where they send the Bud Dry to?
|
Re: What's Your Drink?
yeah, give them a ring and see if they distribute bud dry to any local places...we used to call the distributor in salisbury all the time, to see what kegs they were sending where (especially the rarer stuff), so we pounce on it first.
Brud - i definitely understand that. if it gets to be too much, i head over to my buddy's family's house (if he's down of course), and set out on the bay, or go crabbing. |
