Jets upset New England. 19-17

^^ this would make my week
As much as I dislike Rex, I hate the Pats waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Pats 30
Jets 10 Smith 4 Ints Brady 4 Tds
Geno Smith actually played pretty well against Tampa Bay: 24-38, 256 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. I think he'll be decent against New England's defense. Also, Amendola is likely to miss the game. I think NE wins, 21-16. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Giants, hurting at RB are trying out:
Willis McGahee, age 32 Brandon Jacobs, age 31 Joe McKnight, cut from Jets Beanie Wells, overweight bust Jonathan Dwyer, cut by and just re-signed Steelers who are desperate for a RB And spoken to: Tim Hightower, always hurt Ryan Grant, just finished Kevin Smith, irrelevant since 2009 |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
And Suh gets his first fine (I'm sure of many) of the season.

As much as I dislike Rex, I hate the Pats waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more.
Agree. Im actually pulling for Geno to do well. Too many naysayers, bad fit, nyc sh*t media, jay z, bad attitude, etc. I hope he plays well and shuts up everyone. especially the Sanchise lovers |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Jets and patriots game is going to be close. Patriots always struggle at the beginning of the year. I just don't know if the jets have enough offense to score enough points to beat them. I think patriots squeeze out a win 20 - 13. Divisional games are always hard to call.

Andy Reid vs Cowboys. Go Chefs!

Chiefs could get off too a good start, I could see them going 6-3 going into play the broncos for the first time. I got them beating the cowboys this week. Could be a blowout. |
I don't believe in alex Smith. I'd rather have romo. Going with Dallas. By 10
|
I wouldn't be shocked if they start 3-0 actually but then reality will set in and the skins will start to run away with the east
|

I think Kansas City wins. Their defense is good. They have the skill players to outplay the cowboys defense. |
^ u really think so? Who do they have besides Charles? Bowe is OK I guess but they don't scare anyone. I hope they beat Dallas but IMO Dallas is just better than kc.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
KC could be really solid this year.
|
They have a good D I'll give them.that and I like Reid so maybe so but I just don't believe in Smith. Maybe I'm just wrong on them lol
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
KC has one huge advantage over most teams now it hasn't in years, maybe decades, coaching/leadership.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Giants settled on Brandon Jacobs. :D

Von Miller actions are surprising, coming into the league I remember him being a model citizen. Guess the money and fame can change people. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Yeah, he was lauded as an intellectual, a fine young intelligent man coming into the league. I guess the Steve Urkel glasses were an act because he's made stupid decision after stupid decision since he "got paid".
Guy is a mess and he's squandering what could be one of the best LB careers we've seen since Lawrence Taylor. He had the potential to be the next LT. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
some guys know how to put on a good front and apparently he did
I don't believe in alex Smith. I'd rather have romo. Going with Dallas. By 10
Smith manages a game better than Romo. With Romo, you can get the spectacular play or the backbreaking turnover, often in the same game. Go Chiefs!
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
People continue to sleep on Alex Smith. Poor guy gets no respect. He's not spectacular but he makes good decisions and doesn't turn the ball over. That can go a long way when you have a good D and running game.

I've always thought Alex Smith is a good, solid QB. People seem to forget that he lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship game. I've stated before on the WP that Smith is one of the most underrated QBs ever, but suffice to say he is better than people give him credit for. |

He gets no respect because he stank for 6 years before having a good year. Even with his career year, he's still a 59% career passer with almost a 1:1 TD to INT ratio. (83:63) He may do OK in Reid's system though. It certainly made QBs like McNabb and Kolb look a lot better than they really were. |

He turned the corner in 2009 and has only steadily improved since then. |

Then Jason Campbell should get a shot in Cleveland because he never had an OC or HC for more than a year or two. :D |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
KC now has a good HC, good enough QB and they already had 6-7 young guys with pro bowls. if they do well this year, it really shouldn't surprise anyone.

shocker! Pick up Edelman
Did that this morning. I figure at least 12 targets to Edelman tomorrow night. I'm actually going "All in" with the Patriots tomorrow night at home. My fantasy team will start Edelman, Brady and Ridley. I expect a bounceback from Ridley. |

yeah i picked up JE as well

I drafted Ridley in my pay league second round, I was pissed with his performance even though I still balled out and crushed my opponent. When I heard Vereen had a broken arm i was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. Im hoping for a bounce back too. I got Kenbrell Thompkins on a couple benches...low numbers last week, but he had 14 targets. Now with Im-a-doll out (walkin injury, why did Pats not sign Welker?), I expect Thompkins and Edelman to catch a ton of balls. |

Chico, I won last week as well with the terrible performance by Ridley because I also have A.J. Green and L. Fitzgerald this year. Ridley and Marshawn Lynch killed my RB positions, but Brady and my WRs saved my butt. It also helped that my opponnent had Cam, Calvin Johnson (Bush will kill his numbers this year) E Decker, Spiller, A Brown, basically a bunch of big names who didnt find the endzone in Week 1. The Vereen injury totally helps Ridley if he can put stick-um on his hands. |

Ha, yeah my other RB was Spiller, another shitty day. Both had probably their worst day of the season and I still won cause I had Kapernick, Welker, Vernon Davis, and D Jax starting. Kap went off. I cant believe in all the leagues I drafted, AJ wasnt the second WR off the board. Green is gonna have a big year, Fitz is gonna bounce back with the Cards. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 2 Style!
Well the league leader is rushing before Shady McCoy went off on our Skins Monday night was Terrell Pryor, a QB from the Raiders no less. RBs didnt do much for yardage in Week 1. Some scored, which was great for your fantasy team, but not many with yardage. It has really become a passing league. 300-400 yards per week with 3 TD passes is going to be the norm. Running is almost a novelty. The Packers pass almost every down. Our Redskins better be ready.
