Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Will the skins actually get a Win this week? Or will we be calling for MS to be fired after an 0-4 start??
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Yes.
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
The Rat (shanahan's nickname in Oak) comes where he started, he has had success against the Raiders in the past, let's hope it happens again.
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
shanny owns the raiders but then again we own DET
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I hope there is no call for MS to be fired, but who knows. The OL does not look like the OL from last year, to me they don't appear to be using the same blocking scheme or using it as much. I hate it when QB's pitch the ball out to the RB cause I don't see how that fools anyone but... I think Morris scored off it. But I still hate it. Last year I think the team used that play once a game, this year they seem to be trying to force that play cause I've seen it just about once every series.
The Defense is atrocious and I have no idea how to offer an idea to fix it. One start would be to remove Haslett to send a message. Who do you put in place? I'm not fond of our DB coach either. One would think there is some really good DC out there available. Bad news... MS is not one to usually fire his DC's which got him fired in Denver. Who's ready for Gruden? lol. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I'm thinking after at least coming close with Detroit, we actually do win this one.
Skins 27 Raiders 17 |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I don't think we're officially horrible, unless we lose against the Raiders. That's a red flag all over. Here's hoping it doesn't come to that.

Redskins 23
Raiders 21 Pass Rush gets to RG3 and he gets hit a couple of times. Redskins pull out the win with a last minute field goal. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
We bring back balance to the offense, as Griff looks more comfortable and Alfmo breaks loose.
Skins 35 Raidahs 31 |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I think we are going to kill the Raiders
Skins 42 Raiders 20 |

Skins 42 Raiders 20
I think a score like that depends on if Pryor plays. Didn't he get crushed during Monday night's game and suffered a concussion? We have tackling issues and Pryor can run... Right now it seems as if it's iffy whether Pryor or Matt Flynn is going to QB. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I think we crush the Raiders as well
Skins 38 Raiders 14 |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
eventually we will get this ship turned around IMO
Skins 28 Raiders 17 |
I didn't see anything from the Raiders against the Broncos that should have us worried, IF the D tackles this week.

Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Really don't have a handle on the Raiders. Their most impressive game was Week 1 vs Indy, looked pretty bad last week; and then beat the Jags. Pryor I've been pretty impressed with, from what I've seen....
Not really based on anything...but I just can't see us (or just really dont want us) being 0-4 in the bye. I think we'll pull this one out; but close: 24-21 |

Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
who is going to the game?
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Any word on Kai?
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
If it's close in the fourth quarter (within 10 points either way) we lose.
That being said, I too think we hand them a whoopin'. Based on nothing I have seen thus far this season we will hand them a 20+ point loss. Simply optimism (waning optimism...) |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I'll never pick against the Skins:
Skins: Raiders: If Pryor is out.....I may make a pick. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I predicted a win in our first 3 games, and we lost them all. But this time is different. Washington runs away with it, 55-16. We finally get back to running the f****** football, our defense makes a few big plays in the redzone to take away scoring threats, and our special teams play solid with nothing spectacular.
RG3: 17-24, 265 yards, 2 TDs passing. 8-62 yards, 1 TD rushing. Alfred Morris: 27-104, 2 TDs rushing. Roy Helu, Jr: 9-37 rushing. 2-27 receiving. Darrel Young: 4-10, 1 TD rushing. Brian Orakpo gets his interception for a TD in this game. Our kicker makes 2 FGs. Baccari Rambo grabs an INT and forces a fumble. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Is Pryor hurt?
This defense has a terrible time containing mobile QBs, at least historically that's been the case. You'd think our D would be super against mobile QBs because they practice against one!! But it's been the opposite, and given the overall regression from last season it's hard to see that specific thing improving. Ugh. |

Fortunately for those who had OAK +16, Matt Flynn came thru with the late TD and a push. LOL. That being said, Pryor appears to be improving with each game....while our D....well :bdh: |

Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
27-24 Skins win, giving us a good feeling going into the bye.
|
We are going to absolutely ****ing smoke the Raiders! I honestly think we win this game by four touchdowns. We are a better damn team than them! HTTR!!!!!!!
Unfortunately that is the last easy game on the schedule and we finish the year 3-13. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
^^^^ LOL that's an awesome post!!!!

Well the eagles and pack are 1-2. They both destroyed us. Detroit beat us and minnesota. They lost to arizona. We have one of the worst defenses in nfl history, and our offense has scored most of its points this year in junk time. If we arent officially horrible than there are no officially horrible teams in the league. I do not count the jaguars because - well just because. Edit: not saying we cant turn things around, but if we do we can look back at these three weeks as an officially horrible time. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I would much rather have been 1-3 with a loss to the Raiders than any of our first 3 losses
|
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
All I know is that if the Redskins lose to the Raiders, I will be doing other things on Sunday's from here on out, as this season will offically be over before it ever began. The Redskins need to never be 4-0 in the preseason ever again. They got the big head.

Why? Edit: conference games? |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
Yeah. Road game against an AFC opponent. I'll gladly take the L there over any home and/or NFC opponent

You will feel better about the raider game when we take the division based on common opponents because we beat the raiders who wind up beating the birds, gints, and boys though. :) |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
I don't think any of this matters. Right now I see a Broncos/Seahawks Super Bowl in cold NY. Who wants to go play there in February anyway. Its just not the Redskin's year.

No way on seahawks unless they have hoefield throughout. I still say they are an average team on the road. |
Re: Redskins vs Raiders Pregame thread
nope
Saints Vs Denver |
