Good to see Gibbs back coaching.
"I love coaching my grandkids, but I love working with my two sons. J.D. is the head coach and I'm the assistant, you believe that?" Joe Gibbs says with a chuckle.
Demoted to assistant...lol |
Re: Around the NFL Week 4

Well, if everything stays the same, which it never does in the NFL they might end up playing each other in the Super Bowl. |

They're shopping him so I'm expecting it. Reported that the Lions have made an inquiry. With the recent re-structures, I wonder if we could afford him. We can give him a new contract at the end of the year when we are suddenly $18+ million under the cap. :D His contract sounds reasonable:
7/16/2012: Signed a four-year, $5.342 million contract. The deal contains $3.8 million guaranteed -- a $2.324 million signing bonus, Gordon's first two base salaries, and $380,000 of his third-year salary. 2013: $632,802, 2014: $825,604 (+ $50,000 workout bonus), 2015: $1,068,406 (+ $50,000 workout bonus)
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
Beagles vs Denver. Denver should tcb even on a short week.

Re: Around the NFL Week 4
I have a question, so Aldon Smith got his second DUI, the 49ers decided to send him to get some treatment and pay him while he is getting treatment. Since Smith is getting treatment will the NFL not suspend him now or can they still suspend them and screw the 49ers for being slick. Anyone know? Meanwhile Tanard Jackson waits and hopefully gets reinstated after the bye, we really could use him even if he hasn't played in over a year.

Re: Around the NFL Week 4
God knows we could use him:

Re: Around the NFL Week 4
In regards to Winfield;
1) did the Seahawks officially release him? Last I heard they put him on the reserve/retired list, which means they still have him under contract should he return to the NFL. 2) He says he wants to play for a contender, why would he play for us? |

He would be an upgrade and instant starter on the secondary, I haven't written the skins off like some folks. |

Look, if you're a pro bowler who has made millions in the NFL and has never been to a super bowl, who are you going to play for? The Redskins who are 0-3 and are on pace to have one of the leagues worst all time defenses, or a contender like, I don't know, Denver? Its pretty clear if you ask me. Sure months ago he probably did want to come here, but that was when he saw a team make a great run and make the playoffs. Not what he's watching now. Another argument that may come up to my post could be "Well maybe he knows he can upgrade and improve our defense." Well, sure maybe he can improve our defense, but the problem is, unless our defense gets 4 Winfields, our secondary is going to suck and our defense as a whole still can't tackle. Getting Winfield would be a minor upgrade, a 32nd ranked defense to a 29th ranked kind of upgrade at best; decent but still not good enough. |

No need for him unless someone gets hurt this weekend. If he just wants to occassinally play and all he cares about getting a ring those would the teams. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 4
Jeff Fisher is over rated as is Brian Shottenheimer awful offense

This isn't about SF This is bad STL. I still don't think SF makes the playoffs I've said it all off season.

I hope u are right cause I despise them. |
I don't hate them but I just don't think they r as good as last year and Colin really isn't lighting it up anymore.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
As middle of the road as RGIII has looked so far, even with all of the picks from the trade, the Rams suck.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
It's what happens when you don't have a decent Oline or a quarterback that looks afraid to throw it more than 15 yards.
I would love if the skins had their defense though. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
i'd love for the skins to have anyone's D. there are 31 other ones out there, and they'd all be an improvement.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
So add Christian Ponder to the benched list

Bradford, like Sanchez and Freeman, probably needs to find another place to play next season. I mean I don't see the Rams moving on from him quite yet but something's just not clicking. Speaking of the Rams remember last year when they were 3-2 and someone here was all "Oh man, look at how great Jeff Fisher is. So much better than Mike Shanahan, who coasted off the weak AFC (never mind Fisher was also an AFC coach). Look how they've turned things around in St. Louis!!!"...and here they are at 1-3 |
Re: Around the NFL Week 4
Ponder is terrible but Cassell isn't any better imo.
And STL has given SB no weapons at all his entire time there |

Bottomline about Ponder, Sanchez, Freeman and Bradford, they are not very good NFL QBs. And the numbers back it up. |

Is he benched or out with rib injury? ....or are they using that as the excuse to see what Cassell can do? |

I would be pissed knowing I had to give Bradford 50 mil for his play. Doesn't deserve it to say the least. He had a horrible game last night, and some of his receivers didn't help much either. It'll be interesting to see what direction the Rams go in regards to him. You can't really sign him to a extension with the type of play he's had. He had nothing to do with it. :silly: |
