goodbye timmy...i....ill never forget u :(

Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I hope we keep T.H.-I prefer him over Ramsey. Might not have the strong arm-but is a better leader than Ramsey.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
Heh, if I were him I'd be pretty damn happy to be a third string QB making $680K...Does he really think he has a chance of being a backup somewhere else?
Also, in one of the 3 games that he started didn't he get a 0.0 rating...how can that be helpful to him if he wants to go somewhere else? |

What makes you think that? The fact that he had a 0.0 QB RATING AGAINST THE COWBOYS?!?! Or that he looked good during last pre-season, playing against backups?!?! Look Hasselbeck is a good backup, but that is it. I liked him to but Ramsey has much more talent and as far as leadership goes, did you not watch the end of last season when Ramsey took over for Brunell. Maybe it was just me but the offense looked as if they respected Ramsey more so than Brunell. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I'm pretty sure the numbers were 6-26 for 56 yards and 4 picks. That's awesome. Adios muchacho, to quote the Soup Nazi.

Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
Keep Timmy!!!!
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I wouldnt mind him being here still; but I wont cry if he's gone. I wonder where he's looking to go? Hopefully he sticks around because he's a good backup.

Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
draft bryan randall. went to my high school, and my college. hehe, little biases, happens
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
Randall could be a good late-round pickup!

Well T. Hasselbach lived down the road from me here in jersey when he was growing up, and I say if he want's out goodby. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I agree with Island Boy, save Timmy

Well, he never lived near me, but I also say if he wants out, goodbye! Not a whole lot to say about an in-season FA pick-up with a 0.0 passer rating during a loss to the cowroids! To me, this is a non-story, as in who cares? |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
He is a good third string QB. Has the brains and leadership to come in and keep the team confident. He won't lead you to a Superbowl but he is definitly the kind of guy you want as your thirs stringer. That said it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
Goodbye Timmy... We never got to know thee...
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I like TH but his loss won't break the team that's for sure.
I think he's the perfect example of the backup being the most popular QB in town. I'm always amazed at people who think he's better than Ramsey. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I definitely wouldn't say that. Maybe he could be starter for the Dolphins. ;)
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
He's a good #3, a decent #2 and a #1 only for a desperate team.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
So the Dolphins then? lol
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
Well the Dolphins have Gus and Feeley right now, so yeah I'd put them in the desperate category.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
The Dolphins are living proof that having a great runningback makes your QBs look that much better... Look how they performed THIS year.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I hope he does go for exactly the sentiment that has been expressed on this board. All of the Tim Hasselbeck is better than Ramsey chatter is BS. He's no better than Brunell. Whenever either Brunell or Hasselbeck take the field, I expect the Skins to lose the game. I have 0 faith in them.

Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I'll miss his wife more than anything else....:D
He was servicable at the most. But his arm is very, very weak. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
he was better than shane or rob or danny...

That's not saying much |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
So whether or not you care about Hasselbeck staying, the fact is that if he does leave we'll have an opening for another QB.
So what would you guys do to replace him? Draft a project? Go after a cheap veteran who could maybe be the 2nd stringer and step in if needed, moving Brunell down to 3? Maybe someone like Shaun King (just throwing a name out there)? Or do you just put anyone there at the bottom and not worry about it? |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
If Darrel Green is available to QB for us, I say bump Brunel down to ....Jacksonville.

We have a veteran in Brunell, and Ramsey still has to prove that he's our future QB. So, why not gamble and draft a project? |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I really hate to lose to Hasselback. Unlike general consensus, I was at ease when he went in. It was sort of like seeing your best friend jump in there. You want to see him succeed. His calmness. He is a "good" backup. And damnit, I like him.

Don't get me wrong I like Hasselbeck too, but I like his wife way more.......shes so hot. |

Thats what I'm talking about. What do you think I just look at the face and body? ;) |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
What's up with Hamden??? Did we option him to NFL Europe or he is out of the picture? I would not be opposed to drafting a project type guy late. Someone with some brains and who won games in college. A guy like Randall might fit the bill but there are some others. Orlovsky is good. I have wateched him play and he can straight up play. Of course it was against lesser competition but he will be a quality backup in the NFL at the very least. I would look at Greene from Georgia. Won a lot of games and that means a lot considering it was in the SEC.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I think Hamden got cut last season, but I'm not sure where he went.......

http://www.nfleurope.com/teams/rosters/AMS
Just another reason to fire Gibbs. How could he go of the great Gibran Hamden? What an ass! |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I think I'd draft a QB as a project (or sign one as an undrafted FA), I wouldn't use our precious little cap room on a 3rd veteran QB, even if he would be marginally better than Brunell.
Besides, the 3rd stringer never sees the field anyway. Bringing someone in who is young would give Gibbs a minute chance of molding him into the type of QB he likes. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, no sense in bringing in an older guy. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
its sad when i even have to think about our 3rd string anything.
|
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
I cant believe this has made it to four pages. Over his hot wife. That's the only reason we care.
I think we will be fine if we lose him. IF it happens, I could see us spending one of our mid round picks on a guy to groom for Brunell's eventual cut day. And I saw her first. Elisabeth that is. |
Re: Could Hasselbeck be Gone?
My belief is that a 3rd string QB should have the potential to be a starter, he's stuck as a backup because he's raw and need's plenty of practice time to learn an NFL system, let's face it T.H. is not a starter in this league, I would like to see us draft a future potential starter to sit back and learn. Ala Schroeder, Rypien, and Humphries.
