Trading For Josh Gordon

Crazy thread, I know, probably a headcase. Won't ever happen, but would be a nice addition.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

You should have just made this thread titled "trade scenarios" so we could make up our own trades.

Not sure who/what we would trade.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

Right now it would be ideal to trade Fred Davis for a player or late round pick

I'd give Cousins and Davis for Ward and Gordon.

I think we still needs Cousins, but God knows Cleveland could use a QB.

I don't think they'd give up Ward as well though. Probably would have to give them a 2fer.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

I just don't think wasting KC's stock is a good idea, Griffin is our guy for a long time so might as well upgrade at other positions.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

I would trade KC now/end of year, I dont think it gonna be hard to find another back up QB.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

I thought this thread meant we were in the process of trading for Josh Gordon. If that were to happen, I probably wouldn't give up anything more than Fred Davis. Gordon and Davis are both one toke away from a year suspension, and I'm sure Freddy would love a new start, so that and/or a late round pick would be all I give up.

DynamiteRave 10-22-2013 11:21 AM

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

You think we could find a backup as good as Cousins? I'd wait til the end of the year to trade him and see who heads to the FA list or waiver wire. I wouldn't want to roll with just Rex.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

Who would trade anything worth having for Fred Davis?

He will probably end up being released after the season, all three of his catches will be missed.

I'd roll with Rex as our 2 for the rest of the season

I agree. There is no hurry at all to trade Cousins. And what if RGIII went down for a few games? Do we really want to unleash the dragon?

Besides, Gordon is a head case, despite his talent. We could find a better trade use for KC than Gordon.

Yes, lets trade draft picks even though we are pretty much out of contention for the playoffs.

Is that you Vinny?

I like it. As bad as I want Gordon I feel like we need TJ more. Rather have Gordon but man we need a safety ready to play some ball man. Someone ready to be a hawk out there and cut something off from that position is that too much to ask.

I doubt they would take Davis but I know they would take KC

We need DBs, not WRs who have an injury issue and have done absolutely nothing in the league.

Cle doesn't need a TE. They have Jordan Cameron who is playing pretty damn well.

There is a boat load of injuries to key playmakers out there. Fred has talent! We may be able to get something for him.....

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

Yeah FD has talent but is also one puff away from getting the boot for a season and as of late work ethic issues have landed him in the dog house. I doubt we'll get anything for him but it's worth a try.

All I can think is, a team out there wanted Fat Al and God knows he wasn't serviceable at all. I think Davis still could get it done, at least as a #2 TE. There's gotta be a team out there that is desperate enough to take a risk.

always sad when a great athlete won't put the required effort into his craft. fred davis could have been a monster.

reed looks like he's going to be a monster.

I always thought New England would be a hell of a landing place for Davis.

Not sure if they're trying to be super sensitive to the character issue since the Hernandez debacle (to put it mildly), but I always felt he would flourish in NE.

He has had his problems with us, but the kid has talent! There are coaches out there looking and perhaps we can find one and bring in the next Alfred Morris.......

Forgot about that. Either way I'm fine without a trade even happening, Josh Gordon isn't anything special that we need to definitely be trying to get.

it wierd to me for chud and norv to be trading away supposid offensive talent such as Trent Richardson and possible Josh Gordon. must have been some serious red flags with those 2.

Richardson is an average power back, they made a bad pick, and the colts just made a really stupid trade. He looked amazing behind his college line, which was also all nfl talent.

MTK 10-23-2013 11:55 AM

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

Browns are trying to reload, Richardson was overrated and how could they refuse a first for him? Gordon on the other hand is a stud in the making. I think they would only deal him if the price was right.

Re: Trading For Josh Gordon

If they could get him, I would go for it. He would really help PG and let Aldrick Robinson take over in the slot.

Speaking of AR, why doesn't he return punts/ kickoffs?
Josh Gordon would have to sign on for the Dez Bryant treatment to keep him out of trouble. Otherwise, he is a Tanard Jackson waiting to happen.

On one hand I agree that I would loathe to see Rex on the field for us again. On the other, if we could get a 2nd for Cousins I'm all in. Problem is, I don't think we'd get more than a 3rd for him, and I think we could get more value out of him as our backup QB.

Maybe we can trade Fred Davis for Richard Sherman.
