Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Larry Fitzgerald, Josh Gordan, nor Calvin Johnson can fix what is wrong with this offense. It's not just the WRs. It's the OL, it's play calling, and it's the QB. Trading for anybody as a 2-5 team would be even more moronic than anything Vinny Cerrato could come up with.

Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
No reason for a short term piece, if we can get a young player for a decent price I guess.
If we had pulled out the victory yesterday, who knows maybe I would be more reluctant to make a move. Crazy to think we are only 2 1/2 games back in the East. 1 game back in the loss column. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
No.
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I think the better question is: should the Redskins sell off pieces?
And my answer would be: no, because someone has to win the NFC East. It's in the rules. The Redskins are kind of screwed with tiebreakers though. The NFC East might be won by an 8-8 team, but the Redskins specifically are going to need to get to 9-7 (or 8-7-1). |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Im for moving Fred Davis if someone wants him.
|
Im for moving Fred Davis if someone wants him.
Yeah, he's the one piece that should be moved.
But that's not really selling: Davis might not even make it to the end of the year on the 53 man if we can't find a trade partner. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I'd take Gordon but they won't trade him for anyone we have so basically No
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I would happily trade our OC for some salted popcorn.
P.S. I don't like salted popcorn. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I would take Gordon above Britt or Fitz because of the age and upside. We have to give RG3 more options.
I would put Cousins, Davis, and Rak on the table in term of selling options. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I would take Britt.. We can trade Davis and a late pick maybe?
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Britt would help
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Britt is the most realistic of the 3. I think he could be had for Davis and a 6th round
|

Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Do we get any compensation picks in the draft if we lose Fred or Rak in FA?
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Yes,RG3 for Luck :Smoker::devil::blah:
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Is this the yearly thread, where someone claims the Skins can get a top WR, CB, or DL for a couple of late picks and some scrub that shouldn't be on the roster?
|

Depends on how many guys we sign. If we lose more than we sign, we get picks. I believe it also depends on the type/amount of contract they sign. |

Lol... Please tell me how Kenny Britt is a top WR... He is having his worst statistical year as a player and lost his starting spot. Britt Career stats: TOTAL Rec. 154 yards 2,421 average 15.7 long 80 TD 19 Fred Davis Stats: Rec. 158 Yards 1,998 Average 12.6 Long 71 TDs 12 Fred has been in the league one year longer than Britt. Both have fallen out of favor with their team. I think you are off-base if you think a trade like this couldn't happen. From the TE position Davis has great stats. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
It seems reasonable to me that Britt for Davis might be a deal that would suit both teams.
I wouldn't give up a draft pick for Britt but I'd like to get a draft pick for Davis from some team. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Is there really anyway we could make a feasible trade? I'd rather draft a young guy than get some dude a couple years away from being washed up. Plus that cap hit hurt us pretty bad this year.
Just wait til the off-season to start loading and unloading guys. This season is probably a wash anyway. |

Looks like the Skins are trying to get ANYTHING AT ALL for Davis. If not they might just let him hit waivers. lol damn how the mighty have fallen. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
It'll be a shame if Fred produces elsewhere. Is he last of the Cerrato guys on offense?
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Im hoping they dont cut him if they cant trade him. They are better off letting him hit free agency and hoping to get a supplemental pick depending on how many FA's they sign. I have seen Reed getting up slow and limping around more than once, Fred may still end up with a role this year.
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Not this year.
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Britt has lost all his talent due to leg injuries. He will never return to form. Its sad but true. Davis is worth way more than Britt.
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Why would anybody want Britt is beyond me?
Kenny Britt being shopped hard by Tennessee Titans - NFL.com Kenny Britt - Tennessee Titans - 2013 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com I think this sums it up.
"If you have a 12-pack of Coke and athletic tape, you can have Kenny Britt," said Silver. That's because Britt's drops, penalties and unreliability (on and off the field) have relegated him to a fourth receiver role.
So you guys want to replace our shitty WR with a even worse WR?? FFS people. |

I wish we could move Davis for a "potential" guy at the end of a roster in the secondary or Oline department or even ILB. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
HELL NO on Britt.
We're fine at WR. Sure a Josh Gordon would help but we're not hurting at the position. We need defense, defense and more defense...and a new offensive coordinator...and a punter. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Would love Gordon.. Former Baylor teammate of RG3, Would cost roughly about 300k for him and he's only 22.
Would cost us a 2nd round pick i'm sure but that's something i'm willing ot give up for a playmaker who already has chemistry with RG3. |
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
No way I give a #2 (our first pick next year) for a head case like Gordon.
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
I think we're gonna need all the draft picks we can get over the next 2 years. Don't give those away!
|
Re: Should we make a move by the trade deadline
Well... I would rather spend a #2 on a proven 22 year old playmaker than draft another Hankerson. We NEED another playmaker on offense at the WR position
|

We need a good pair of guards, a center, an ILB and a free safety. Right now WR should be THE lowest priority on this team. |

I disagree.. Its not 1990 anymore. Offenses trump defenses. I think our Oline is solid outside of Litch this year and that's obvious if you watch the 22. RG3 had plenty of time to throw and held the ball way to long last week. Every QB will be under duress at some point. Very few teams get a Brady type front 5. More fire power and weapons on offense would be the best defense we could ask for. |
