Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

First I'd like to say great job Summo as always.. Guy is a freak talent but anyways lets get this train rolling in the right direction!!! If we want to make a run it would have to start Sunday vs SD. Anyone still have the faith????

I think we win a great game actually.

31-28

Re: Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

These next two games are probably the last "gimmes" on the schedule, considering we almost never play well against the Eagles and we have that weird Mara whammy on us.

Its a home game and the Chargers, while pretty formidable on offense, is defensively, meh.

Whereas the last few games, I didn't expect a win, we should and are completely capable of winning this. Will we? Eh... I'd say yes, but it'll be a squeaker.
I am worried about Rivers he's on fire this yr
That's the problem, if the defense is going to bend then the offense is going to have to keep pace with SD's offense and so far we've shown we can't keep pace with anyone's offense.

Okay, except that freak win against the Bears. So we can't, as a team, keep pace with other teams consistently, from game to game.

Re: Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

I think this is a winnable game, but our offense HAS to play better. I like that we're at home, can hopefully build some momentum and put together a good game.

If we have any hope of saving this season, even with Dallas being 4-4 and nothing great... I think we need to win the next three in a row to be in contention down the stretch. SD, @ Min, @ Philly are three winnable games, in my opinion that hopefully can get the ball moving in the right direction. Not that I'm expecting this to happen, I just thing its our best opportunity.

We're hanging on to a ledge over an abyss. If we lose this one, and I think we will, it will be a free fall to the bottom.

At least the folks in St. Louis should be happy with the high 1st Round draft pick they'll be getting from us.
I am worried about Rivers he's on fire this yr
Rivers is on fire, so is Manning and yet our defense managed to stop Manning for three quarters. We can do that with Rivers, our offense just need to play better for the team to win.

Monkeydad 10-29-2013 11:17 AM

Re: Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

Rivers is going to have a big game for sure.

D Hall will too.

We win 27-23.

Griffin has to be getting mad. He'll play better when mad.

I also predict he's going to start blowing off Kyle's bad playcalling and changing plays to what he wants to run. They're going to have a big falling out by the end of the year and Dan will be forced to choose his QB over the OC. Kyle won't be back.

His playcalling is not making any sense. We were winning the Denver game by running the ball, eating the clock and getting big plays on D. That was the recipe to win, keep Manning off the field and RUN RUN RUN. So we got a 21-7 lead and what does Kyle do? He abandons the run and we pass the ball like we're losing by 2 TDs...and guess what, we lost. We should have kept running. Alfred was having his way with the Denver D. We should have ate the clock and tried to hold on by not letting Peyton have chances to do what he did to us. Instead, we gamble and throw 4 INTs when the run game was working. Throw in some 3 and outs and a 15-yard punt and Peyton was set up to win without even breaking a sweat.

Thanks, Kyle.

No bones about it, Summo has dug up a way to put an end to the team name controversy: "The Washington Walking Dead"!

The helmet on the right (with a little rotting flesh) will do nicely for the uniform.

Seriously, great work Summo! You're the best!

Tough schedule so far this year.

After this week we get the Vikes, Eagles and Giants in the next month (with the 49ers thrown in).

We can start to salvage the season in the next 5 weeks.

KC and SF are the toughest games left...the rest, including Atlanta and Dallas are winnable.

Hey, we get Meriweather back this week!

I'm not expecting a decision on Tanard Jackson this season...the league doesn't want to do anything to help us.

If we win three straight, we could be in first place, or close to it.

The three game streak begins Sunday.

Seems that way. They were sure quick to drop the hammer on Meriweather but want to sit on their hands to reinstate a guy that was eligible to come back weeks ago. (Mind you, Josh Gordon was reinstated right away)

Stay classy, Goodell.

I actually dont know if I would start him, I thought our guys at saftey held their own decently last week. I dont know if anyone agrees or has watched tape can verify? Gtripp?

The white helmet rocks.

We have to beat the Bolts or the season truly is over, as it is impossible to think that we will go on a tear like last year and somehow make the playoffs (Mora: playoffs?!).

And I think we will -- score:

'Skins: 29 (safety courtesy of Kerrigan -- the difference maker)
Bolts: 27

The Chargers are a tough draw for us. Can't take much advantage of their overall lack of team speed, because the Redskins are lacking in team speed.

I was encouraged by Rambo's play. Good for him!

Biggers can't tackle at corner either.

I like the way you think, keep Meriweather on the bench until we need him to take somebody out. We'll being him in to blitz Rivers and remove him from the game on a crucial drive. :D

I think the Skins win this game.

The Skins have to go 2-1 in their 3 games to have a any shot at the division.

We have 4 left and we can win them all.

The Eagles have turned to trash since Week 1.

The Giants have been trash since Week 1.

Dallas...we can do it, they're Dallas.

7-9 in this crappy division might win it. Watch us draw a home game then, like Seattle did a few years ago. :D

The Bolts have to make the cross-continent trek for a 1 PM EST game and this usually works out poorly for West Coast teams.

So so tired of hearing that.

"At least St. Louis is happy with our draft picks..."

Can we let it go already? I mean it will be years from now before anyone will know who was able to make the most out of that deal.

I think the 'skins take this game as well. If they can hold on to win the next three, 5-5 looks pretty good to me considering how this year has gone.

Monkeydad 10-30-2013 10:12 AM

Re: Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

If we can make it to 5-5 which is very possible if we beat SD this week, we're in VERY good shape for the Division.

The Division might come down to Weeks 16 and 17 vs. Dallas and NJ, much like last year. The Vagiants won't be in position to win, but they'll be in position to help Dallas win it.

With this team nothing is "very possible"...there are no easy games on the schedule.

I really want to see us rolling RG3 around more. The Raiders have been doing it with Pryor and the guy is explosive.

Just some Rollouts from the pistol would be nice. We did it a lot last year, and this year not so much.

calia 10-30-2013 04:21 PM

Re: Redskins vs SD Super Chargers pre game thread

Perhaps not the right thread for this but I wonder whether we've giving thought to picking up Michael Huff who the Ravens released today. He got displaced by Matt Elam, but he's had some solid (albeit not spectacular) seasons in the past. Chris Thompson is doing absolutely nothing on our roster having demonstrated he cannot be strusted as a kick returner. Given the terrible safety play all season, I wonder whether it is worth a flyer.
