Re: skins eagles postgame
In all seriousness we fought back but when u start 0-24 U don't win in the NFL
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
10 days to prepare and we still got embarrassed. Unbelievable.
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
Oh God. That picture is fantastic. Saving it.
|
Last year, down 8, I would have believed we would win. This year, I had no doubt we would lose.
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
If the system from last year got our QB hurt, and its been the same system this year, since the 2013 season is over, doesn't it make sense to not use the system in 2013 or ever again b/c if Robert were to get hurt again than 2014 could be in jeopardy too.
No more RO, no more Kyle. No more burns, Haslett. |
Re: skins eagles postgame
Completely dominated by the Eagles. They are a 4-5 team minus their 2 wins against us, and they just completely mauled us. The score doesn't do justice to the domination.
We don't have a strength on this team. The running game is as close as there is to one, but our line is pretty terrible, and a lot of it is just ALFMO beasting it and getting yards other backs can't get. |

That pic is the best thing about today, from football POV. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |
Re: skins eagles postgame
More of the same.
Poor special teams, mostly porous defense, great running game, average at best passing game until they are down by 2+ TDs, a way to make you think there's still a chance until there isn't... At least they are consistent. |
Re: skins eagles postgame
Just gross.
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
I want to dog Robert for his last throw but the dude carried the damn team today and was the only reason we had a chance
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
How long is Shanny and his staff contracted for? Seems like his time is almost up. Let's see Gibbs 3.0! *laughing and sobbing at the same time
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
So now we have some stuff going on with Trent and an official.
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
Washington Cherry Poppers we love giving teams their first.
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
The coaching has obviously not been good enough. Being down 24-0 proves that.
RG3 has been mediocre this year. Ups and down. The offensive line looks terrible in pass protection. The receivers are inconsistent. The defense only shows up when the offense goes vanilla. I don't see how there are any Shanahan supporters left. I thought he would finish around 7-9 or 8-8 and at least show some promise and people will start to realize it takes a season for a knee injury to truly recover both mentally and physically (just like Tom Brady), but I don't see how the Skins winning more than 2 or 3 more games. It is very sad. |

We had four yards passing in the first half and he overthrew people all day long. I dont know about carried us. Even his td pass to Robinson was poorly thrown. Aldrick made a hell of an adjustment on that play. We got helped by a couple of calls, etc at the end. I did not think this was one of his better games at all. Edit: special teams was a joke again and the d got shredded of course. I am not blaming griff, but i aint patting him on the back either. |
Re: skins eagles postgame
I know we pointed fingers at defense, special teams, etc. but this loss was on everybody. Good job team. Time to get rid of Shanny and his mess. New coaching staff please.

Re: skins eagles postgame
i think the core is there for a superbowl team.
RG3, morris, t williams, garcon and reed (if he continues to excel) are probowl caliber players at key positions. kerrigan orakpo are probowl caliber players on the edge which is very important in the nfl nowadays. through in a solid in-their-prime D line and the D has at least some players. the secondary of this team absolutely sucks imo. i feel like haslett (whom i am no big fan of) has to do alot of scheming and changing of his gameplan to protect the secondary. i really think the poor secondary hand-ties him in his playcalling. RT - im not sure polombus is our starting RT going forward. i think the FO would have upgraded there if they could. Its hard for me to grade or judge our RT bc unless he screws up his play is not noticeable to me (which to an extent is a good thing) but troy looks like he loses at the pint of attack more than i would like. cb - we need to upgrade. d hall and wilson cant be counted on next year. i like d hall's play this year but hes not a shut down corner and i dont think he plays this well next year. amerson is coming along. wilson is meh to me. mlb - i do think we could use an upgrade and maybe robinson would have been that guy but who knows. sav - my man, i was a big fan of yours but you are hurting the team with below average stuff right now. you had a decent career, made decent coin but its time to thank you for your service and start a new guy next week. if anything we get to try a carousel of punters in an extended preseason of sorts and also send a message to other players with them seeing an empty locker (even if it is just the punter and perhaps picking on low hanging fruit). fans - skins fans truly are the most fickle bangwagonish fans in the nfl. im not picking on anyone here or in particular but year after year i am embarrassed to share colors with half our fan base. ** through = throw and polombus = polambus |
No it was not a great game for Griff at all.but he showed guts and leadership late.
Main difference today? We got out coached and Philly has more playmakers period. |

First people have to realize that Shanny is responsible not only for who is on the field, but their lack of fundamentally solid football play. Unless of course I am mis-understanding what a "coach" is supposed to do? |
OTM , nobody here is a bandwagon fan because every year we suck and we r still here

i know thats why i love this place and went out of my way to make sure i said i was not directing it at anyone here. ive been here for 5 years or so and its the same name and faces. i must admit i was guilty of checking the ES gamethread from time to time today to see skins "fans" freaking out and calling for rg and the shanny's heads. they did not disappoint. i think that was the source of my fan comment but this place aside, ive always been embarrassed to share colors with half our fickle transplant fan base. |
Yeah man we all are just tired of not having a good team , it's getting really old
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
Shanny has lost the team so he is fired plane and simple and for the record I want everybody on line gone minus Trent
|
Re: skins eagles postgame
Great strategic move by RG3 to avoid taking the sack by nonchalantly lobbing a game-ending interception instead.

Let me give you the short version: The good: Nobody died. The bad: The entire Redskins organization. |
Re: skins eagles postgame
I quit watching early in 2nd qtr, couldnt take it anymore. That throw griffin made in the first qtr to a WIDE OPEN tight end was not even close,Tim Tebow could have completed that pass,Griffin is just not right.
Turned game back on just in time to see Robinson make td catch, which I think was more great adjustment by him more than a good pass. This team is just bad the whole way around with a few exceptions,Garcon and Morris being excluded |
Re: skins eagles postgame
1. RG3was not very good most of the day. His pocket presence is terrible, learn how to climb the damn pocket instaed of doing a back peddle. Also missed easy routine throws. Foles was the better QB. He regressed today.
2. Kyle don't let the door hit you in the back. 2 man routes don't work this year. Adjust your damn gameplan. And when you have 2nd and 5 near the goalline when Morris is running the ball...don't take him off the field you idiot! You've done that two weeks in a row. Piss poor coaching there. Keep running the ball! ...or leave him on the field so the threat is there. 3. For all you stat experts, we gained 430 yards! Woo hoo! Hidden in that is the offense scored 3 points in 4 quarters, going back to Minnesota. That's great offense though! 4. What is wrong w/ putting Santana back to field punts? Are you coaches so fucking stupid that you put a practice squad rookie back there over Moss when your season is on the line? Again, horseshit coaching! 5. Can the coaches on defense teach the defense how to tackle? Wrap up and tackle? This has been going on all year! Football 101. 6. Whoever the new coach is, I hope he comes in here and makes everyone ( outside of Morris, Garcon and Williams) earn their damn jobs. See who wants today football. |
Re: skins eagles postgame
The commentators did a very good job explaining the impact of the cap penalty. We all know it hurt our FA opportunities a ton, but I'm not sure a lot of football fans get it. But the other side of the coin, also said during the game, is we didn't help ourselves by trading so many draft picks. The RG trade may not have been the right move given our circumstances, but I still say there's solid talent here on both sides of the ball, though very limited depth at too many positions.
But all the circumstances don't account for Mike and co fielding an unprepared, undisciplined and uncompetitive team. He's gotta go. Personally I would send him packing now and give the reigns to Raheem, just as a matter of principle. |

really disappointed in rg3 for that. as a qb you have to know time, down and distance. he had plenty of time on the clock, had to know its was 3rd not 4th down and they only needed 2-3 yards for a first (so throwing it away wasnt the end of the world). i honestly think rg3 was physically and mentally tired after a long game and a long drive and just chucked it up there. i think he kinda gave up with a down to go. really really disappointed in him. once rg3 quits, this team is truly done. he didnt quit today but i sensed he was close to throwing his hands up in the 3rd quarter. glad he didnt. sidenote - rg3 has been bailed out multiple times by our wide receivers on long balls he puts up there as 50-50s. hes been more lucky than good on longballs this year imo. the robinson one is just another to add to the stack of luck on his part. |

Those players out played our guys, particularly Foles. He outplayed our QB. End of discussion. Look, I know the cap has hurt us some but we have several free agents on the team that aren't any good. Morgan didn't even dress! That laughable to me. After signing Garçon, how about looking for a linemen to help pass protect? I blame the people who pick the players more than the cap hit. That falls on the head man. |

Re: skins eagles postgame
I know a lot of people are saying Shanny should be either cut now or extended.
I say keep him next season. What others call "lame duck" I call "contract year". Mike's done a lot of good on O. Found good replacements for Chris Samuels, Clinton Portis, and Chris Cooley. Upgraded the QB, WR, and OL. Defense and special teams are a dumpster fire. I feel so foolish now having argued when Shanny came on board that the 3-4 would be good for us. Not saying a 3-4 isn't as good as a 4-3, but it hasn't worked for us so far. And let Haslett walk this offseason please. Won't be sad to see Shanny go if we don't make the playoffs next season (or miraculous run this season). I think Kyle's been good, RG3 just wasn't elite like he's capable of playing. Though I really wanna know what the relationship between he and each Shanahan really is. Today was a disaster. Everybody at fault (except TW, Alfmo, Garcon, our DL, and a few others I missed. I only blame RG3 too because I saw him play much better last season.). If this keeps up, can every coach, but I'm inclined to think just burn this game tape and move on. |

lol i grew up in moco right outside DC and i love baltimore and the people. i absolutely hate DC and the people there. the two cities and the people couldnt be more different. one is blue collar with multiple generation deep roots and tradition. the other is a bunch of transplants and rich people with their windows rolled up. as an eastern shore person im sure youd love and associate with the people of baltimore much more than the DC elitest. funny though, most skins fans arent from actual DC. there gaithersburg or NOVA .... i digress im talking to much |

I think Dan has finally showed patience with a head coach and it could send a bad message to potential candidates in the future if he does pull the plug before the end of the season. I understand frustration but a HC change isn't going to turn a season around. The next question I have is who is going to want to HC without the 1st rounder in the draft? I don't know if it will make a difference. |
