Heard a stat coming into work this morning. Last 4 games, Geno Smith 39% completion, 0 TD, 5 Ints. Yikes

I didn't watch that entire dog game last night, but did anyone notice how hard Jacksonville was playing? I mean it's obvious that Gus Bradley is making a big difference down there and that's what we need here. Someone like him. Not saying he's walking into the HOF or anything, but he's got those guys playing their asses off.

He looks like he doesn't even belong on the field. Who would think that they really miss Sanchez?

skinsfaninok 12-06-2013 10:20 AM

Geno is really playing bad but let's wait until he actually has some weapons to judge. Jags Texans was actually watchable , Andre Johnson is a man child even in his early.30s.

Well, thats true but are you suppose to regress in the system? The trajectory should be more mike glennon-like. That Jets team has sank with his play.

Geno doesn't have much to work with but my gut says he never becomes a quality starter. Just my feeling.

Can't believe how far the Texans have free fallen. Division winners 2 consecutive years to bottom of the entire league.

If there is a bright spot, they have a golden opportunity to have JJ Watt and Jadaveon Clowney on the same D-Line in 2014.

Re: Around the NFL week 14

Its funny they were ready to drive Schaub out of town and the Case Keenum experiment has totally fallen flat on its face. Hopefully the Texans are looking at drafting a QB. They are hurting for one real bad.

I wonder how long it will be before someone suggests Kubiak for OC. (Ooops -- did I just do that?) Seriously, you have to feel for the guy -- with the health issue he had this season, Schaub's unexpected implosion, and losing Foster early on in the season, the guy has to feel jinxed.

A lot of what if's here obviously, but if Kyle left and Mike stays, you would have to think Kubiak could be a possibility.

Why is that?

"In his 11 seasons with the team, the Broncos amassed 66,501 total yards and 465 touchdowns, the most in the NFL during that span. He coached 14 different Broncos that made the Pro Bowl, including running back Terrell Davis, who was named the NFL MVP in 1998."

I posted this early this morning but in wrong thread

Watched sportscenter this morning, only 1 nfl game played and sportscenter doesnt get to it till 20 minutes into the show, how often does that happen?lol

Cant believe my other hometown team{texans} is this bad also. This is the same team that won 12 games last yr.My dislike for Kubiak is slightly less than my dislike for shanahan,I would not want Kubiak as off coordinator if something happened to shanny jr.

The skins and texans are pretty similar. Both give up big plays on defense, both special teams suck, most fans of both teams think their coach sucks. But I think the biggest problem with both teams this yr is the dropoff on the offensive line. Both teams can run block but pass blocking forget it,qbs are under constant pressure. The Texans line has 3 probowlers so I dont know what happened there.

Yeah, but his 61-64 effort in Houston left much to be desired. That team had far more talent than their record shows. Kubiak's playcalling and game management were questionable, and I think that's the biggest reason for Houston's struggles.

Perhaps being united with Shanahan would help though. He certainly had success in Denver.

I think the biggest problem for the Texans is that Schaub crashed and burned, plus they lost Foster. That whole team needs to be blown up IMO, especially in the offensive side of the ball.

Being in houston Ive probably watched more texan games than skins cause I dont buy the sunday ticket every yr.
Kubiak is a shanny clone,bad game management,bad decisions,bad record,etc
no thanks

That defense is still big time. They just do not have a QB that is dependable.

Foster wasnt that big a loss,I dont think they lost anything with Tate.Foster wasnt having one of his better seasons.

Yes Schaub stunk it up,but a lot of those passes he threw for ints were because he was under tremendous pressure and he was forcing the ball.Offensive line couldnt block anybody and teams werent falling for the playaction rollout anymore.
With Schaub like a statue back there and the line not being able to block anybody I think thats why Kubiak switched to keenum because Keenum could scramble.
But in second half of games Keenum was just getting killed on dropback passes, even when teams were rushing 4

The defense was ranked good but when you watched them you dont get the feeling they are good except for watt. They gave up the big play a lot,
They gave up 27 to the jags and did not look impressive.
I dont think Jones Drew has had a 100 yd game in a while and last night he did it in 14 carries

It is hard to say that right now because they knew what was going to happen to that coaching Staff.

The biggest problem with that team from what I saw in the beginning of the year was they could not adjust in the second half. They dominated teams like Indy (when they were still good), Seattle, and New England just last week in the first half. They have talent on that D and they can play well, they just can't adjust, which is why they are 0-6 I believe when leading after halftime.
