Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Will you be satisfied or dissatisfied if Mike Shanahan is retained?
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Pass. Next question.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Dissatisfied if he is retained. His contract won't be reupped. He'd be here for one year with mediocre to terrible coordinators. We'd suck. Luckily it won't happen, he is as good as gone.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Thanks mbedner3420......I would not only be dissatisfied if Shanahan hangs on to his job but I would be outraged.....how can any head coach not only be 24-37 but have 3 double digit losing seasons in 4 years oon the rich contract has? Shanahan needs to take his ass back to the Colorado mountains where he came from.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Is the season over and is he fired yet? So we can stop having all these threads started about Shanny.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
To big of words for me. Which ever makes us win I am all for. Legally of course! =P

........no

Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Indifferent becuase no matter who the coach is we will always have "The Snyder Problem."

O now , what proof do u have on that....? I mean Snyder has a great track record of winning and respect from former coaches.... |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Extend Shanahan. Start cousins. Trade rg3.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
I would be highly dissatisfied if he is retained and doesn't replace, Haslett, Burns and Foerster as his assistants. Kyle will more than likely leave on his own.

I don't think you can be serious. |

Depends on the alternative. I have no doubt he's a competent, professional NFL coach, but his record speaks for itself. He can go, but not until there's a more viable replacement to take his place. I'd be in favor of an extension as long as it stripped him of his GM duties. Get a real GM up in heres. |

Or keep them both and let the best man win. |

This is the best post I have ever seen. ^^^^^^^ X 100000000 No matter what coach we have. I think we will always be below average to poor. I am at the point where I think i realize that as long as Snyder owns the team, we will never be successful. I am a good 10 years younger than Snyder though, so perhaps one day when I am very old like in my 80's, there will be a different owner and we might be different.... |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
If he is stripped of GM status and we replace OC,DC and special teams then I would be okay. However it seems like a toxic situation at this point and few teams can succeed in that.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Ideally: Snyder sells the team to a good owner.
Dreaming: A good GM is hired, this mess gets fixed over the next couple seasons better than I could postulate. Wouldn't mind: Haslett and Burns gone. Mike and Kyle And Bob and the rest of the organization all become BFFs. What I expect: Shanny and Co. gone, the hope and usual mediocrity of the Snyder era follows. |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
I could care less. I want this team to stop being an utter embarrassment. Losing is one thing, losing while setting a new low (weekly) in terms of incompetence is killing my enthusiasm as a fan of football.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
I would be okay if Shanahan is retained because 7 million is a lot of money. Hire Kubiak as Assistant Head Coach/ QB coach. Then I would that they hire Ken Norton Jr. to implement a version of the Seattle defense.
However what is more likely to happen if Hass leaves be prepared for Slowick or Morris to take over. In that scenario, I hope it is Morris and we move Slowick to Defensive backs coach with Darrell Green as an assistant DB coach. Maybe make London Fletcher as a the Linebackers coach |

Satisfied with certain clauses...... I do want Kyle, Burns, and Haslett gone! |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Shanny has to go.

how do you feel now? |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
How anyone can defend Shanahan at this point is beyond me. A dancing monkey is a better head coach.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Dissatisfied would be and understatement.

Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Shanahan has picked these players and picked these coaches. He has not made good choices. The coaching seems to be lacking in many areas. If he is here with new coordinators then I wouldn't trust him to choose well. We need to move on from him with a younger coach who can grow and bring a long awaited stability to the team. The offensive coordinator from Seattle would be a good choice He has done well developing Wilson. He likes to run the football. He comes from a winning program. There is never guarantee of success but I think that would bring hope back here. It would help to renew my interests. I am through with this crew.

Mike has quit on the franchise it's so obvious
What is one thing you really like about Mike Shanahan?
He and Kyle built a good offense. We just need RG3 healthy.

Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Mike also built a bad D and bad ST.
|
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
He and Kyle built a good offense. We just need RG3 healthy.
Is this really a good offense? -7.1% DVOA this year. Zorn's offenses posted an +8.2% in 2008 and -8.3% in 2009. Spurrier's offenses put up a -7.0% in 2002 and -6.7% in 2003.
This level of offense has gotten Snyder to change coaches before. |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Mike is a bad coach, period. His offense is inconsistent and defense and special teams horrible. He has no business as a pro coach. Neither does his jackass kiddo.

That being said, comparing one year to the next: 2012 DVOA when we had RG3 healthy for most of it: 16.1% Stats I care about: 2012 offense was #5 in the NFL yds/G, #4 pts/G, and our rushing was #1 yds/G and #4 pts/G. Tell me with RG3 healthy we aren't an offensive juggernaut. |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Serious question for anyone who thinks Mike deserves another year.

I think if you can make a really good case in favor of this rushing offense being as strong as any, but the passing game was an adventure every one of the last four years. Even last year, I thought the passing game was sloppy and unproductive at 3-6. That changed on the seven game winning streak when they put in some spread plays that Griffin ran at Baylor, but they haven't used that part of the playbook this year, and we can't execute anything else. The bigger point is that THIS LEVEL OF OFFENSE GETS PEOPLE FIRED. So whether or not the team is likely to rebound with an influx of talent and a more confident RG3 is irrelevant. Coaches know you can't let it sink to this level and keep your job. The Cousins play was the last bullet in the barrel. Shanahan is defenseless. |
Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
I wonder if this Redskins experience has hurt his chances to Join the Hall of Fame?
I wonder if this Redskins experience has hurt his chances to Join the Hall of Fame?
Hurt? Yes of course. Will it prevent him from getting in? It probably should, but the HOF process is highly politicized, and this is only going to hurt him if he gets on the wrong side of too many of the voters. Losing two votes for the Washington area voters is likely not the difference.

Re: Just a question for the Redskins diehard faithful....
Steve Spurrier won 7 games with , Ramsey (R) , Mathews and Wuerffel as our qb's . MS has had 4 years , and this is the worst team I think I have ever seen in Washington . Sorry Mike .... you must go .
