Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
Let's start it off with this:
Houston Texans to hire Bill O'Brien of Penn State Nittany Lions - ESPN First name off the board. A small part of me is hoping he follows the track record of ex-Belichick coaches since we didn't get a crack at him. |
Good hire by Houston IMO

Re: Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
Yea wanted the skins to get him. It will be interesting to see what direction they go with their pick.

Re: Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
Is Mike Shanahan going to attempt to coach again next season or was this likely his waterloo? I haven't heard any news on him or Kyle....

I'd doubt that he is a HC again maybe ever. As for Kyle I'd imagine he'd be a college hc next |
Re: Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
@AdamSchefter: Former Cal coach Jeff Tedford will be Lovie Smith's OC, and Rod Marinelli will be the Bucs' defensive coordinator, ESPN is reporting.

Yep Tedford is the guy who mentored Rodgers. That's a wicked coaching staff but will still need some luck in the NFCS. |
Re: Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
Don't know how McDaniels could get another head coaching job after running Denver into the ground. But then again this is the Browns we're talking about.

not sure i'm a fan of that. i like lovie a lot more than the two guys he picked to come with him. i think o'brien would have been a better hire here than lovie (who is a decent coach/HC). |

This is good news, Cowboys probably going to lose their best coach on the staff. |
Re: Around the NFL Coaching Changes 2.0
As to Lovie's staff: Tedford mentored Rogers in college along with a host of QB's who were first round busts. Remember, Rogers came into the league and sat a few years behind Farve. It's not like he came in and lit it up. Not saying Tedford can't succeed, but I don't think he is a guarantee. This is his first NFL gig after 20 years as a college coach.
As for Marinelli, he is a great DL coach in a Tampa 2 defense. Simply not impressed with him since he moved on from that. Player's love him but not sure he is any great shakes as a coordinator. Failed miserably as a HC in Detroit (0-16, that was him). |

Sent from my SM-T210R using Tapatalk
They did but Marinelli is still a well respected coach. |
