Pick 47 Trent Murphy

Trent Murphy, DE, Stanford, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com I don't know the guy, but I don't think we will see guys breaking his tackles like we watched last year. Former steer wrestler, that impresses me, and when you watch the highlight reel, you can see him wrapping up real well. |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Lots of people will hate, but I like it. He'll help our pass rush and depth up front.
Still some good RTs left. |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Only time will tell but, this doesnt pass the smell test for me. Guy played around a ton of good talent at Stanford
|

McRib-like

I thought the same thing. Reaching bad. Hopefully we get more from him that ol' useless MC RibBuster |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Horrible pick... Le Re-Overweight guy esq... I absolutely hate it... Ruined the draft... A poor mans Kerrigan on his very best day...
|
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Murphy was a great DE at Stanford, always making plays, I hope they pair him with Shane Skov. Just because most of you haven't seen him play doesn't mean it was a terrible pick.

If Murphy was on California, byu, Arizona, asu, Washington....would we know him? Nope. |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Only reason we drafted him, he's on Stanford
|
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Boo never heard of him
Must be bad pick 2/10 would not bang |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Trust me, it was a solid pick and he's smart, could be a Justin Smith type pick if he beefs up.

Heck, let's get Shayne Skov this evening sometime, then take Ed Reynolds tomorrow. All are the types of football players I love; not necessarily great athletes or prototypically sized, but very instinctive, great teammates, and great players to have on your team. Ryan Kerrigan, Alfred Morris, London Fletcher types. |

I'm pulling for the guy and yes I knew him before the draft. Honestly Skov would have been a better pick but we are kinda set at ilb IMO . Think Murphy woulda been there late 3rd. |

Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Would have been fine with the pick, a round later.
|
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
At a rangy 6-5, 252 pounds, Murphy doesn't necessarily project well to a classic 4-3 alignment or even the 3-4 scheme in which he starred for the Cardinal but like Allen (6-5, 260), he's one of the tougher, more ornery players I've come across. I think he'll ultimately out-play his draft selection, though not necessarily to the staggering degree as Allen.

Must be bad pick 2/10 would not bang
5/10 would bang but not until a little bit closer to closing time :D. Funny thing is if this was a 3rd round pick I would have really liked it. With our first pick in the second round, well suffice to say my head hurts from banging it against a concrete wall. I realize the last Super Bowl kind of showed how critical a great defense is but I would like to make sure we at least are protecting our franchise QB.
Only time will tell but, this doesnt pass the smell test for me. Guy played around a ton of good talent at Stanford
Well to be fair the announcers were gushing over him in the Rose Bowl against Michigan State. Heck thats the main reason I even knew who he was aside from hearing his name linked to the Redskins. [YT]luIXgJOwlFo[/YT] |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
This pick is simply horrible... I don't know how anybody can spin this...

I prefer the Seatle San Fran types. Guys that can run. |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
yea his highlight real is bad
dude looks awful slow covering a TE possibly? I dont fucking think so... |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
With Chip Kelly in Philly, I liked how well this Murphy kid played the option...

Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Recalling SmootSmack's excellent thread on the scouting process...
How the hell does this guy rank higher vs. Rak or Kerrigan, than any decent RT pick against Polumbus or whoever we got there? Pray Bruce Allen is right about this guy being BPA. He was dead on when he said the Skins would not draft for need. Drafting depth with a second round pick would be just plain ignorant. |

If we get Moses in the third round do we come out even after taking Murphy in the second?

I see you're still stuck on bargaining. Don't worry I am too lol.
Kubler-Ross model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 1. Denial - No, they gave London the wrong card. 2. Anger - ***** ******** **** mother **** piece of ****** s**t. You mother *&***&(* C484tt 3. Bargaining - Maybe they can select Moses in the 3rd round...... 4. Depression - I don't think I want to live on this planet anymore 5. Acceptance - ..........at least it wasn't a pass catcher.
|

It's not a comparison. Lombardi award winner coming out, Rak put people on their ass gettin to the qb, Murphy gotta lot to prove to get to Rak level. Funny to me |

LMFAO I think im still on step 4, working on the finale step |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
What stage is embarrassment? I can't even reply to a Steeler fan friend right now, that just texted me what I thought of the pick. Really hope Murphy turns out to be great.

Would you say he was drafted to replace Orakpo or Kerrigan. If so, then it is relevant to this thread..... It is just stats, Chico relax. |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Murphy led the nation in sacks with 15 last year, just saying.

I think im still on step 4, working on the finale step
Lol, I wonder if its possible to experience two steps at once. I feel like I'm going back and forth between 3 and 4. On a side note I'm starting to wonder if Morgan Moses is currently a major suspect in an unsolved homicide. |

Like I said before, this year Rak and Kerrigan are competing for the big extension, we can't invest in both. It's close right now, but I'd lean Kerrigan. |

Wouldn't you say? |
Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
OK Happy again

Re: Pick 47 Trent Murphy
Great pick in the third... Moses makes up for Murphy... Makes the draft even better....
