"Just because I can't get it done in football, doesn't mean I can't get it done in office."

Re: Rep. Shuler?

I can see the public service annoucement now:

"I know what's like to lose a job, except in my case I sit back and enjoy the millions I earned being a flop in football while you get to live day-to-day on a welfare check."

All kidding aside, good luck to him. It's great to see someone try to step up and make the world a better place.

I screwed the teams I played for so now I want to screw the taxpayers.

Re: Rep. Shuler?

How about...
"I've failed at everything else but chances are I am good at something. Why not this?"
"House of Reps doesn't require that I run or throw so I am golden."
"There's nothing like a quality University of Tennessee education to prepare you for public office"

Hahahaha.. very nice, very nice.

Speaking of UT, if anyone lives close by there, I'm going down to visit some friends next weekend, so if anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

"He played for the Washington Redskins and the New Orleans Saints before a foot injury ended his career."

Well, to be fair, mediocrity had a lot to do with it, too.

Re: Rep. Shuler?

Mediocrity is a very kind word. ;)

Re: Rep. Shuler?

What do you think will be a crappier number- percentage of votes cast for shuler, or percentage of completed passes thrown by the bum?

Shuler for Office, " Because I'm more comfortable in the taxpayers' pocket."

Re: Rep. Shuler?

How about this,

"Hey, at least I'm not as big a bust as Patrick Ramsey!"

I guess that would only win one vote though.

Do you think he even gets it?

Re: Rep. Shuler?

Are you crazy? Ramsey isn't very good but Schuler won the friggin Heisman, didn't he? He was drafted higher, got paid much more, and SUCCCCKKKKKED. When you're a bigger bust than Desmond Howard, you know you suck.

TheMalcolmConnection 04-07-2005 04:18 PM

Balmerskinsfan, it's an inside joke. From now on, note the :Smoker:.

For the record, Shuler never won a Heisman. He came in second though.

Re: Rep. Shuler?

It is a good thing that he can "make a run" to achieve elected office.

Because if he had to throw in order to get into office, he could not be elected to a Middle School Student Council...
