Anybody know when the 2005 Schedule comes out?

I know that the opening game (Thursday Night, Sept. 8: Pitt at NE) is set and I just saw on CBS Sportline that the first sunday night game (Indy at Baltimore) is set.

When does the rest come out? Anyone know?

When we lost Coles back to the Jets I was thinking how exciting it would have been to have the rematch from to years ago kicking off the season. I was at that game and boy was it fun.

Gosh Jeepers, the Redskins have a website! Wow! Thanks, I never would have thought to look for that!!! I bet it's pretty useful for a Redskins fan to know that the team has a website. Why ... a fan may even have it listed as one of his favorite sites, and, then (especially when looking for information about the team) he may even check the site regularly! - Who would have thunk it?! ;)

I don't understand why they just announce the national games for week one, when obviously all of them must be set for them to do that. Why not announce all week 1 games at once? That way we'd at least know when and where the Skins opener would be...

Actually, that's all I'm really interested in. I am trying to plan my vacation and need to know if they have a home game the first weekend.

Sad ... planning my life (and the life of my family) around home games.

Not sad at all! If you think about it, out of 52 weeks per year, NFL teams are only garaunteed to play at home 10 of those...and only 8 of them count. Makes sense to plan things around them! (I've used this same type of arguement when my wife was annoyed at me watching football all day on Sundays....until this year when towards the end of the playoffs, she actually asked me what we're going to do on Sundays without it!)

The NFL does this every year. They like to tease with those 3-4 games first, get you talking, then drop the rest of the schedule later in the month, so we can talk some more, and then next thing you know its draft time and we really talk even more! It their way of keeping the NFL a year round event. They have the longest offseason in pro sports so we get little crumbs thrown at us.
hey BigSKINBauer I could care less in what order we play them-we still have to play them
O damn, ooooooo damn.

:stop: HAMMERTIME!

O o O o O o
Obviously this thread was made to ask when we would know who we were gonna play not just who we were gonna play. I do however care about the order in an ideal situation i would PREFER that we play the cowboys early BUT not toooo early, maybe the 3-4th game and then again in teh last the giants would be nice to get the wins out the way and the eagles also just to get the
( i feel like typing) hard ones out the way. the AFC games will be hard no doubt with some good offenses and some bad defenses but that is just the way i like my bitches so i would take the raiders in week 2 just after they lose to the PATs and are all down on themselves. The broncos in the 3rd game so we could have moss kik bailey's ass. So that puts the Giants in games 1 and 6 and eagles in 5 and 11 that would be nice. I would like in the middle some EZ ones and i would like to kick some old QB ass and i would enjoy arrington killing Warner on Arizona so that would be game 7 and game 8 i would enjoy continuing with the ass kiking with San fran so to recap i think it goes something like this Giants raiders broncos cowboys eagles giants arizona san fran then i got to improvise. I guess take the West in a sweep with the rams coming in game 9 and seahalks in game 10 then the eagles in game 11. so we got a few spots open with the Damn Cowboys in the last game. so we got like who left the bears then the bucs because i would like some ez ones after philli then like the chiefs and then the chargers before the end game with dallas.

So that is my two cents and i didn't put much time thinking about it but clearly this thread was made to see the dates we played the teams not only the teams we played. Some of us want to plan scedules around it and that may be why we asked so just be kind but we good John and i hope to hear more from you in the future. so we are cool for now and i am not upset i hope you feel the same!:food-smil

It will get even worse if the NFL goes with the plan for the Monday Night Game to wait to decide who will play based on current standings/rankings............

Why don't they do this on a Friday or Saturday evening, when people would actually be home to tune in??

JoeRedskin 04-13-2005 09:34 AM

Re: Anybody know when the 2005 Schedule comes out?

Don't worry, once they figure out that people will tune in and plan their schedules to watch, the NFL will turn it into a big event.

Remember, the draft used to be held on tuesday afternoons at 9 or 10 in the morning. I think that continued up through the 70's and into the 80's.

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

There are some tough patches here, but unlike last year, I think it get's easier toward the end (with the exception of the last game against Philly). At Denver and at Kansas City back-to back is tough. At the Rams is tough. But at Arizona, home for Dallas and home for NY are games we can take. A nice three game run in December can put you in the playoffs. 9-7 wildcard.

Is it September yet?!?!?!?

e16bball 04-13-2005 02:45 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

It seems highly possible that we could be riding a 4 game winning streak into that last home game against Philly. Damn, that would be incredibly tight if somehow we were playing them for the division championship.

I think the games that will decide the playoffs for us are Seahawks, Chiefs, Bucs, Raiders, and Rams. Those are teams we are pretty evenly matched against, and if we do well in those, we should be looking at a mighty fine record. Of course, if we go 0-fer in those games, top-10 pick here we come. Again...

celts32 04-13-2005 03:00 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

This schedule sets up tough. October is brutal with Denver & KC back to back on the road. Also ending with 3 straight division games is rough. I would be thrilled to go 9-7 with this schedule...I would sign for that right now.

FRPLG 04-13-2005 03:10 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

Seriously... Every year I try and evaluate the schedule and it never works. Think about it. If one team ends up being a lot better than anyone even imagined, oh say the Steelers for example, then it changes the entire fabric of the schedule. All of a sudden an "easy" patch gets broken up and who knows how good anyone else will be. I only concern myself with the when our primetime games are and when our NFC east games are. If we win all of NFC east agmes nothing else matters.
I'll tell you what sucks on our schedule... how'd we get screwed into a week 3 bye? I'd rather have it at a more opportune time later in the season when we could use the rest. They oughta only do bye from weeks 5 - 12.

celts32 04-13-2005 03:29 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

Yes the week 3 bye is probably the biggest thing here to complain about. As far as the schedule looking tough...it probably will always look tough for the skins when a quarter of the schedule is made up of Philly & Dallas every year.

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

Anyone dislike the fact that NE, Eagles, Pitts, ATL, Jets?, all seem to have like 3-4 MNF games? I really don't like that they did that =/

celts32 04-13-2005 04:04 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

No those are the fruits of winning. The Redskins are lucky to have even 1 Monday night game. I wouldn't blame the NFL for putting Philly & NE on Monday 8 times each since they are the only 2 teams gaurenteed to be good each year. Most teasm are good one year and awful the next which makes it almost impossible to put a good Monday night schedule together.

Daseal 04-13-2005 04:05 PM

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

Don't you want to see teams you don't get the pleasure of seeing on MNF? I want to see teams I don't get to see all the time! What if a team gets hot next year. A new Chargers. What then?

Re: (Merged) Redskins 2005 Schedule

You think they won't give one of footballs hottest rivalrys (though be it somewhat sad lately) a primetime spot? What about two of the leagues highest grossing teams. Both teams have massive fan bases. They'll almost always give the skins a primetime slot.
