Have a REAL bad feeling about his one...so hope that I'm wrong. Can you imagine the headlines if we go out there and stink it up?

can you imagine this board?

Eagles rushed for 145 yards against the Jag which effectively got them back in the game. I dont want to hear any excuses from Gruden, Alfmo and the Oline proved we are at our best when running the ball. Makes zero sense to throw 0-5 yards when we can pick it up on the ground

We better pound the rock this week. I want to see Morris over 100 and Helu over 50.

We need to WIN. Would like a beautiful game but I'd take an ugly WIN.

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style

the game is on TV in baltimore so in am very very happy.

last week was a mess for me since the game wasnt on TV and you had to go find a non-ravens bar/restaurant. i asked the warden for permission to go watch the game by myself but was denied so I had to call think of places that were kid friendly but would have the game on with audio. i called sonomas in Columbia and they said they would have the skins game with audio. We get there a minute before kickoff bc i had to wait for women to do women stuff. i was literally waiting at the door for 15 minutes until she was ready. but .. sonomas was packed and the owner said they have been fully reserved for weeks now. wish the guy on the phone had told me that when i told him it would be 2 adults and a 2 year old.

we rush over to famous daves, got a seat, got them to play skins audio and its about halfway through the 1st quarter. the 2 year old who is normally pretty mellow doesnt want to sit despite us bringing a ton of toys and crayons. we order food, kid is spilling things everywhere, i end up spending most of the 1st half outside playing with my daughter. wifey packs up all the food. we head back to the city. drop the wife and kid off, we realize in our rush we forgot about $40 worth of bbq at the restaurant.

i finally got to the local skins bar in balt city at the beg of 4th quarter. watch the 4th quarter and the skins lose standing up in a packed bar.

so .... being able to watch the game at home, throw some meat in the crock pot and not have to worry about driving and drinking is going to be awesome.

If Jax plays like they did vs Philly the Skins lose because the Skins dont appear to have the offensive fire-power to keep up. If this game is in Jax the Skins lose for sure but it isnt.

Skins 14
Jax 13

I think your right and I attribute that to mostly our defense.

I really want to see a clean, mistake free special teams play.

We get back on track this week! Was a fluke again Texans. :D

The ONLY stat I'm worried about is that the Jags haven't beaten an NFC team since 2011. Those type of stats make me nervous.

I also see a huge day rushing the ball and a couple of deep bombs thanks to playaction. I actually think our defense will own them.

Skins 24, Jags 10.

This is about what the Houston game would have looked like if not for the dumb mistakes. No reason we can't beat Jacksonville if those don't show up.

I'm gonna say 24-20, Redskins.

It's true. I always try to be objective, but EVERY TIME someone says some like that, without fail, the Redskins break it. It's our time now, let's keep their streak going...

We haven't won a NFC game since the Cowboys division clincher, which means we win on Sunday.

I thought I would be buying in again by this time this week. And while I get why we lost to Houston, I am pretty nervous about this game. Skins are at a point where until they beat a lesser team (which I think Jacksonville is), and they don't beat themselves with stupidity, I won't post a lopsided victory.

Jacksonville 21
Skins 20. (failed 2 pt conversion, just to give us a new way to lose)

If Gruden realizes that the right side of our o-line is worthless and finds ways to compensate for that, plus we focus on the running game, then we win. If he doesn't, then we're screwed.

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style

We methodically take the Jags apart leaving everyone to wonder what Redskins team will show up the following week. Skins 37, Jags 12. Alfmo with 2 TDs, RGIII runs one in too (first time since 2012), and both Desean and Pierre notch their first receiving TDs of the season. Hatcher with a safety.

Of course, we could also get killed. Who the heck knows with this team?

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style

I like this game for a couple of reasons...

1) Jax is still building (OK, they're a weak team)
2) Jax on the road in back-to-back games (that's tough for any team)
3) 'Skins get some home cooking
4) 'Skins gotta be mad as heck knowing they had the Houston game

I see a lot of fire in the belly this week....Wash: 30, Jax: 17

Hail!

Skins win.

That will be an ass kicking from ocean to ocean then since Seattle is a home game.

I really wont be surprised win or lose. Complete toss up imo. If we crush em ill feel a lot better about this year though.

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style

I'm not going to try to pick any games yet because anything could happen with this team. They have enough talent to beat just about anybody but they also can blow any game due to their propensity to make egregious mistakes.

In the Houston game, the Redskins looked sickeningly like the 2013 team. I'm hoping to see a new, improved 2014 Redskins team soon but I'm not counting on it.

I tend to be optimistic about the Skins but they are going to have prove themselves to me this time around. I'm just sick and tired of losing games we could have won because we committed multiple turnovers. Before you ask me how I can be so negative after just one game, let me explain that I view the Houston loss as simply an extension of the poor play that cost us dearly in 2013. To me, this team is no better than the 2013 team until they can fix the problems that killed us last season.

I really don't see how you compare last year's team with last week's game. IMO, the problems last year, especially on ST, was piss poor tackling, and lack of effort. Sunday we saw a ST and Defense vastly improved in tackling and effort plays. There were botches that totaled 8 points, and that can't keep happening but play in play out the effort and solid tackles were there.

On offense, the Redzone issues might remain, but we don't know because 3 key players fumbled at three key times(I am counting Morris' non-fumble, because that was inside the 10 as well). I still haven't seen Paul's fumble so I don't know how it occurred, but the Griffin/Morris exchange obviously just can't happen.

So instead of looking incompetent and non-competitive, they certainly looked like they were playing hard. Now, stupid mistakes, that's been every year, even in 2012 I remember early games where the Skins made you shake your head. One day maybe that won't happen any more, but it's been a long time since we have seen bonehead free play for a season. Heck we can always remember Gus Frerotte if we needed to go back to demonstrate how long it's been going on. :(
