Around the League...Week 9 Style
Jerry Jones said Tony Romo's Week 9 status will be based on "pain tolerance," and Romo could be a "game-time decision."
Early Wednesday, ESPN's Ed Werder passed along an "emerging possibility" that Romo "will miss time," perhaps 1-2 games. At this point, the Cowboys don't know if Romo will be available to play against the Cardinals. We'd consider Romo very likely to sit out all of the practice week, with Brandon Weeden taking the first-team reps. Fantasy owners should have quarterback alternatives in place. The 6-2 Cowboys can't afford to take chances with Romo. per rotoworld Hey sorry bout that Tony! HTTR |
Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
it sounds like the MLB durant injury is a big blow to the boys. quite honestly i didnt know who he was entering MNF but the loss of lee and now Durant has to limit the boys ability to maintain top tier success.

Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
This was the kind of loss that could send Dallas into a spiral. I'm really hoping that happens, nothing would be more satisfying, save for beating them at the end of the season and getting to the playoffs . . . knock on wood.

Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Deadspin has two hilarious articles on Jerry Jones -- honestly, the only thing he is missing are floppy shoes and a rubber nose. Why that idiot is commenting on Romo's medical situation is ... actually, I just answered my own question -- he's an idiot. It's hard to think of anyone more desperate for attention that Jerruh.
I would love to see the usual late season swoon and for them to fall out of the playoff picture. Unfortunately, with the Jags, Bears, and Giants on their schedule, they're likely to finish at least 9-7, even if they lose to us, Philly, the Colts, and the Cardinals. Too good a start for them to flame out entirely, most likely. A shame. Monday was a reminder of how much I cannot stand that whole franchise. The spectacle is nauseating -- and ESPN didn't help with the silly infographics to start the game. Would love to see them get absolutely pounded by the Cardinals this weekend. A real shit stomping loss going into the bye would be great. |

Pats Denver should be good as well |

There is a Mark Sanchez sighting in Houston.

Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Pats back on top apparently
These guys Tom and Peyton both have a sense of humor. Tom should send a note to Peyon, "hey bro, like that shit"? A little back and fourth as the game goes on |
Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Wow Pats. Unreal. Whole world said Brady was done about a month ago. Best team in football rite now. Dude put the team on his back and said FU to the league.
|
Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Brady is the best QB ever I've said it for 3 years and he never seems to let me down. Pats literally dominated a great Denver team
|
Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Jump ball to Jacob Tamme with all those other weapons?
I think the key to the Patriots is simple. Gronk and Revis. With both they most likely end up in the Super Bowl. With one they have a great chance still. With neither (like last year when Talib got hurt) they get beat pretty easily. |

He is top ten of all time. Impossible for me to say who is better than who when you are talking about the bradys, montanas, mannings, unitas's of the world. I personally think Manning is better. I believe BB is a huuuge reason for Pats success, whereas any coach Manning has ever had is just along for the ride. Lol. |

I think harbaugh is gonna be decent at Michigan.

Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Pittsburgh and their wide receivers. It proves what I have always said 1st draft wide receivers that can catch and play wide receiver. People are too busy looking at the height of the receiver. Our best receiver is little DeSean Jackson and Santana had been our best receiver for a long time. Even look at Denver, Sanders is the best receiver. When evaluating receivers I want to know can they catch first. You have to watch them play. How you a pro receiver with 50/50 hands?

You would consider Sanders better than Thomas even though Thomas is ranked 2nd in the league in yards? |

Tony Dungy was a good coach w/o Peyton. So was John Fox. We should not act like Peyton has worked with only scrubs as coaches. |

He's turning some cast off WR from Carolina into a star. No one does more with less than Tom Brady. He's a surgeon. |

What a wasted pick:
49ers RB Marcus Lattimore, SF's 4th round pick in 2013 draft, is retiring due to knee problems, per @caplannfl. |

His talent was undeniable, it's a shame he was never the same after that terrible leg injury he suffered in college. I wouldn't call it a wasted pick though, considering pretty much every failure of a draft pick could be called a wasted pick. |

He's had a nice run. Given the many ups and downs this season, I'm hesitant to call someone or some team a sure thing. |

John Fox was a career .500 coach until Manning came along. They are both fine coaches. Dungy better than Fox in my opinion. I dont think either one holds a candle to BB. Just my opinion though. |

I agree. Bill is better and it's not even close. I just think Peyton has played for good coaches as well. |

He has. I wasnt really trying to knock Dungy or Fox, but what I was saying was if you took Brady away from Bill all these years would there be any debate about who is the better qb? Impossible to say really but.... |
Re: Around the League...Week 9 Style
Watching Andrew Luck sometimes he throws the ball quick sometimes he holds it longer. sometimes his line lets defenders come on in and sack him like RG3 does. People are putting too much emphasis on quick release. If its not open then don't just "Kirk Cousins" the game away.

So I just seen that Nick Foles will be out for 6-8 weeks... I'm going on the record now as saying that Sanchez will play just as good or better than him. Foles never convinced me. |

No one is calling for RGIII to do stupid things. But he has plenty of room to speed up getting the ball out. And quickly and safely throwing the ball away beats a sack every time. Gruden's offense is based on timing which leaves receivers getting lots of YAC. A slow delivery from the QB gums up the works pretty badly. |

But if you noticed even when Cousins was playing he threw picks when he had too much time. ON play action there are no quick releases. On deep routes there are no quick releases. I think Gruden calls different plays when RG3 is in the game. Sooner or later the o-line has to block. Even when Cousins was QB, Polumbus is what really ruined his career. |
