RG3 is back
Channel 4 girl saying sources are telling her he is starting.
Also Chris Russell told the team to start him. |
Re: RG3 is back
Yah, the local ESPN in DC affiliate is reporting same
|
Re: RG3 is back
This article says that RGIII practiced fully but Gruden did not name him the starter.

Re: RG3 is back
Redskins officially are saying that decision has not been determined.
NBC 4 is running with it's been decided. Lots of stuff for the pot stirrers. Personally, I want him on the field as soon as he's medically cleared and isn't a liability mentally/physically. Forget the controversy aspects. I want him to go out there and light it up. |

i emailed his gmail but did not immediately receive a response

Per two Redskins sources, heavier workload on Thursday and Friday will dictate the decision on Robert Griffin III. He's got a good shot. |
Re: RG3 is back
this is who broke it btw:
Dianna Marie Russini @NBCdianna Robert Griffin III will start against the Vikings on Sunday per multiple sources with the Redskins organization. |

Re: RG3 is back
Got a few alerts, multiple sources, rg3 officially named starter
|
Re: RG3 is back
I thought it made sense to bring him back after the bye but F it, if he's ready, he's ready.

My question is instead of declaring him the starter shouldnt we at least here if he has been cleared to play? |

No official word from the team either way. If he's been a full go at practice I'm guessing he's ok to play. |

Gruden as well as the team .....earned some things from me the past Monday. If he's ready..HELL yah, bring him back. Robert in his old form scares the hell out of D coord's Shake some rust off and down the road we'll go |

Why if he is cleared by the doctors put him in this week. If Colt starts and stinks up the joint then you will be calling for RG3. |

Yep if he is cleared bring him back now so we can see what he looks like before the bye week. Then we can coach him up more. You can get hurt in practice so let's stop worrying about it and let him play. |
Re: RG3 is back
Glad he's back but I want to see him produce and stay healthy and win. If not its going to be hard to believe in him fully again
|

Ditto. Coming off a short week with less time to game plan is bad juju. |

He's probably just busy. Let us know as soon as you know. |
Re: RG3 is back
Good for RG3 I guess. I was not sure if he should come back this season if we got eliminated from the playoffs, but i guess we need the rest of the year to see if he can run Gruden's offense.
If RG3 stinks it up - then i wonder whats next. Lots of people will make excuses about RG3 if he plays bad the rest of the year, like "oh he's rusty, he needs more time, he's not fully healed, etc...". It will probably be valid excuses. They've given up on Cousins - only Colt McCoy remains intriguing. Do they battle for the job next pre-season if RG3 doesn't play well? |
Re: RG3 is back
If Griff stinks it up or gets hurt again and colt comes back down to earth, and Winston falls to us in the draft. Take him. There I said it.
|
Re: RG3 is back
I think a lot of us are associating this with his knee injuries. While gruesome, the severity of this wasn't anything close to major surgeries. Maybe this will be the LAST thing with him, and the story finally gets written.

I talked about taking Winston a few weeks ago. Nearly got ran off here. Lol. |

Oh I know he is not the peoples choice. Lol. However the kid can flat out play. He is absolutely going to be a star in the NFL. |
Re: RG3 is back
Too many people comparing this to 2013.
The issue with 2013 was Griffin entered a season opener with no offseason, missing most of the preseason, and then going out there week one. We don't have that problem this time. |

I can't imagine why. :) |

Re: RG3 is back
Bottom line this is the first season for Gruden he has to find out what he's got in this whole team. That includes Griffin
|

That's true. Just me conjecturing, but I would think missing an entire offseason because you're rehabbing your knee is different than sitting out a few weeks early in the season. Even with the same offense/new offense aspects to the situations. Of course, I don't buy the idea that Griffin isn't smart enough to read defenses or understand Gruden's playbook. Not buying that makes believing this time will be different a little easier. Doesn't do jack for reality though :) |

Basically because he's trash......... |
Re: RG3 is back
I support RGIII 100%. When the #1 QB is ready to play, he plays.
Colt did a fine job against Dallas. It's good to know that he can help us when he is needed. |

Only if the alleged rape/sexual assault is true. Other than that I could care less about shrimp, autographs, or obscenities. He is a leader, a winner, and very gifted on the football field. |

You are correct in that statement, but it also appears that character attributes mean little to you...I prefer that the face of the Redskins francise have more....character than that. Like Robert... FYI, listening to ESPN the other day, this issue was being discussed. To paraphrase the discussion, several current GM's were canvassed and the feeling is you..."Steer Clear of this loose cannon" But....to each their own |

Which it's not as two witnesses backed his story and the girl had two DNA samples in her underwear. But the media fails to report that. And as you say, the other crap really would not concern me. |

I dont judge a mans character based on some tom foolery in the student union or signing autographs or stealing some crab legs. If he did sexually assault a young lady than he has major character issues. |
Re: RG3 is back
RG3 coming back and we're talking about some knucklehead we're not going to draft??
People get on Robert for tweeting of all things. Imagine having a QB with real character concerns? Oy. |
Re: RG3 is back
Once again no sexual assault happened. His name has been slurred. Other than that its just some Tom Foolery. We got RG3 that's my QB.

Lol I only mention it because someone said something about the possibility of none of our qb's panning out. I think. Anyway I hope Griff kills it Sunday and than for the next 20 years. |
