The NFL got it right here. Vikings should cut him right away. Nothing worse than abusing a 4 year old. AP is a bad dude.

I can think of a few worse things, and they didn't get it right, if they were to suspend him why not do it eariler, this seems like a complete cover your ass move. You were basically paying him to sit out, but now that the trial is over and he copped a plea, let's suspend him for the rest of the season without pay. FOH Goddell. |

After the beat down the league took with the Rice issue, this was Goodell only move. But I completely agree with you, he messed this up from the start. |
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
What was the point of the domestic abuse policy?
Goodell is just trying to save the nfl's image at this point. Making up rules as he goes along. |
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
I stand corrected. He was suspended 6 games like he should have been.

Would you root for a guy who beat his kid to the point of injury? Beat him on his genitals? Stuffed leaves in his mouth? He should never be allowed back in the league. AP is a major major POS. |

My dad did all that to me and then some. If that is the case we need to get rid of all the players in the league who have had issues with law enforcement. |

And force Indy to be sold since the owner wasnt far from killing a few people in a vehicle with illegal drugs in his possession. |

I agree that the NFL has not been consistent, but I am ok with allowing the law decide he was guilty before they do. |

I would be fine with that, if he was playing then copped a plea, then got suspended, or was suspended from the jump |

This comes back to the Ray Rice thing. Do we want to the NFL to be the moral compass? Because what the courts decided wasn't exactly on par with child abuse punishment. |

The NFL in no way, shape, or form made the decision based on a moral compass. They dont think they got the Ray Rice thing wrong based on a moral compass. They just know that it can affect their wallets and made the decision with future income in mind. If it was about a moral compass, they would have never given Rice 2 games in the first place. Having said that, I will go back to what I said when the Ray Rice thing first broke. If the NFL is the moral compass of this country we are screwed. It has to be up to the courts to make the right calls. It should have never came down to the NFL having to be the punishing body for Ray Rice, because he should have been in jail from the get go. |

Yup dude is a strait up loser and I agree. He should actually be put in jail or an institution. Even though he had no idea it was wrong?!?!? Lmao. How do you not know its wrong? I have a huuuge problem with someone who gets caught smoking weed and goes to jail when some fuckhead with deep rooted anger issues beats on his four year olds nutsack and shoves foliage in his mouth doesnt. |

But a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder that it is "very possible" that Peterson could return to the field for this Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, pending a ruling by the independent arbitrator in Monday's grievance hearing.

Raiders are fired up tonight, would love to see that kind of attitude from the Redskins on Sunday in SF.

I agree 100% with you. There are lots of guys in the NFL that are good parents, loving fathers - that don't beat or bludgeon their children with weapons. That being said i wouldn't be upset to see someone take a cheap shot on him. I hope someone does to "teach him a lesson". He's 31 years old so all he really needs is another knee injury and he'd probably be finished career wise. I think i read that he has like 10 or 11 children all by different women, so yeah, once his career is over, he will probably be penniless within 2 years or so. I feel no sympathy for him whatsoever. |

Saw it once this year for the dallas game and that about it. Reflection of lack of leadership by the vets and coaching staff imo. |
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
Holy crap. Just saw that the raiders beat KC. Well we are still better than the Jaguars!

That the Raiders won really says a lot about the NFL. The Chiefs crushed the Patriots who are the hottest team in football and walloped the Broncos (among others). And now the 0-9 Raiders beat the Chiefs. Any. Given. (Thursday?). Sunday.

I wonder why they just didn't move it two days later to Tuesday. Maybe to avoid a shortened week for them. This just a personal pet peeve but I hate when they move the games so far from the fan base. It reminds me of when the NFL awarded the Giants a 9th home game by taking the Saints home opener and playing it in NY. |

"Bills fans trying to get information about refunds and credits for Sunday’s game that was moved to Monday night in Detroit are likely running into problems. The Bills apparently mistakenly gave out an incorrect phone number for its ticket office. Information on the Bills Website instructs ticket holders to call 1-877-228-4357. But that’s actually the phone number for a domestic violence crisis center in Ohio, which has been receiving a barrage of calls from Bills fans." The center is asking people to stop calling the number because it needs to keep its lines open for people who need their services. Everytime I think the Skins are the worst run organization I see stuff like this. |

You mean when the Super dome was trashed by hurricane Katrina and the entire city of New Orleans was flooded for weeks ,you do realize Giant ticket holders didn't have tickets for the game ,right ? Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
one of my pet peeves occurred yesterday at the end of the fsu vs bc game.
fsu was killing clock and trying to gain several more yards for the game-winning field goal attempt. bc had no timeouts left, while fsu had all 3, i believe. the run the ball on 3rd down as the clock ticks down under 10 seconds. it's now 4th down and the clock is ticking down 09... 08... 07... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand they call timeout w 7 seconds left! WHY?!? why not call that timeout w 3 or 2 seconds on the clock? a field goal attempt takes 3 seconds. why leave any time on the clock? |
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
This Cleveland-Atlanta game had the worst 4th quarter clock management I have ever seen in a professional game. Neither team should have won. How you misuse timeouts like that i will never know. Atalanta snatched defeat from the Jaws of Victory, despite the Browns doing everything they can to give it away.
I don't know who will be the Falcons head next year but it should not be Mike Smith. He is on his 6th season and he looks like a 1st year coach out there. |
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
Browns are a good team and they have a great WR in Gordon, young solid D as well. Good for them
|
Re: Around the League...Week 12 style
Didn't expect joe Lombardi to make the lions offense into one of the worse in the league, but he's done just that.

The one they could've just as easily moved to OKC like they did for the rest of the season. |
