Santana Moss
Ok, the seasons over, and I don't give a flying fuck about starting threads shit anymore.
My point is this guy has been a legit legend for us, this will be his last.chance for us to appreciate him for all he's done for us. Please let's give him the rock, give the gut the chance to bow out in the endzone [emoji17] |
Re: Santana Moss
It'd be nice, but I don't see it happening unless its the last few games. Who's been starting? DJax, Garcon, Roberts... Those are really the only names I ever hear called.
I just don't think there's room for Moss right now. The next leading receiver on the roster in Ryan Grant and he's only got 5 receptions. It sucks they dicked Moss over this year, but that's football I guess. |
Re: Santana Moss
A legend?
Jack Daniels going down easy tonight? |

I was expecting a trick play then realized we lost too many DBs that night and he had to step in. |
Re: Santana Moss
Yea I hope he sees the effing field. Bottom line.
|
Re: Santana Moss
Even Ryan Grant is ahead of Santana Moss right now.....Moss clearly isn't in the Redskins long term plans.

There were /are others, Cooley Portis Taylor Etc
Well Said! I completely agree that Santa Moss is one of the few Redskins that played up to he potential every game, and never took-off any plays. I also agree that Clinton Portus and Chris Cooley are in that same category. |
Re: Santana Moss
I think Portis would be more fondly remembered by most folks had it not been for his attitude and questioanble work ethic towards the end of his career.
There is a reason not one team signed him after he left here. By 2010 - it was clear that WE sadly were the only NFL team who would make him a starter. Still remember how sad i was when i heard he showed up for that Patriots workout at like 270 lbs.... That being said - he deserves to be remembered for his play on the field, which was always superb... For a guy who didn't practice or train during the season, it's always amazing that he could show up on game day, basically coming off the couch and go run for 100 + yards... |

If half of our team was as committed to the cause as him we probably won the NFC division a bunch of times and maybe even a superbowl. |
Re: Santana Moss
Moss was a very good Redskin soldier.
Art Monk was the only legend we ever had. |
Re: Santana Moss
edit: posted in wrong thread, sorry.

Re: Santana Moss
Moss was a very good Redskin soldier.

Re: Santana Moss
Regarding the QBs he had to throw to him, Santana was highly productive on the field.
I always liked the way he carried himself. But he is not a Redskins legend. If he had a few NFC championship appearances...then maybe. |

Christ how do you rate Sonny Jurgenson? |
Re: Santana Moss
I'd rather have Sonnys autograph than Santanas.

Thanks, they are not cheap here in England |
Re: Santana Moss
Moss has had a nice career but he's hardly been a legend.
|
Re: Santana Moss
Love Santana......not much mouth...mostly action. I know it's coming, but I'll be sad to see him go.
Love how he handles himself ......Always...fights his guts out. ....and competes Never forget when lightning struck twice against Jerry's kids |
Re: Santana Moss
That game against Dallas was during his pro bowl year here, 2005, that's also the last time a Redskins WR made the pro bowl. He's had a damn good career with over 10k yards. Looked sharp out there today.

Re: Santana Moss
you made a thread to diss Santana?

Re: Santana Moss
Moss is a Redskins legend to me. Never forget his fire and his MNF win over DALLAS!!!

Did we read the same first post in this thread |
Re: Santana Moss
Tana should still be getting work on gameday. Especially in the slot. Another stupid FO/coaching situation to keep him and pay him but not use him.

I would also add Gary Clark to the mix. |
Re: Santana Moss
I can't use the word legend. But sadly he's one of the most memorable Redskins we've had during my adult life (1997 and forward).
Have to appreciate what we've had. He was a very good player and gave us a lot of fun moments. He was the original bubble screen threat, and clutch on double moves. |
Re: Santana Moss
I'm still twitching from the Roberts FA move, nothing we've seen says he was an upgrade over what we already had in Santana or that Roberts is anything to hold onto longterm. So I'm still asking who the hell is responsible for that wasted FA move? When we needed so much help at oline and the secondary?
|

Tough to rate a WR based on the QB play we have gotten this year...he'd probably look much better as would Garcon if we could get any consistency from the QB and Oline |
Re: Santana Moss
From what many have told me, I wish there were more people in the locker room like Santana when I was covering the team. Class guy all the way
|
Re: Santana Moss
Santana was a very solid receiver for the 'skins. The guy deserves some recognition, but I don't think I'd call him legend. But, that 2005 game against the Cowboys will be considered legendary.

Roberts is 26. Moss is 35. Pretty easy math. And if we had a decent QB/Oline I doubt you would have made that post. And pretty much everyone else on this board liked the Roberts acquisition. We signed him before Jackson. At that point all we had was Garcon. |

Gruden would have been smart to involve him as much as possible on the field and put him in a leadership role. It's something the locker room needed with Fletcher leaving especially. Have I mentioned Gruden seems to be a shitty HC? |
Re: Santana Moss
Interesting to read the 2 threads of Moss and Fletcher, both guys who played well on the Skins but one seems to be considered a leader and an asshole and another who quietly went about his business being a professional.
Wonder what the teamates think of both? |

Jackson "the accidental free agent move" performs regardless of who is under center. Garcon is not top tier to me anymore. |
Re: Santana Moss
Hey, yer legend just got ejected from the game.
Maybe he could reference that in his HOF speech. |
