2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Talk about your favorite players, post your early mocks, explain why I'm nuts for wanting this guy in the 7th round instead of that guy, etc.
NFL Draft - 2015 NFL Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com Three of my favorite players at the moment: Leonard Williams, DT, USC. Rashad Greene, WR, FSU. Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska. |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
It looks like 7 offensive tackles in the first round ..... I trade down and take one. The mock drafts vary widely, for example Ronnie Stanley is a late first in the CBS mock, and top 5 in other draft forecasts.
I like the TE from Notre Dame in the 3rd or 4th if he lasts that long. Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com |

Alot of folks assumed he wasnt coming out...its official he is. I like him and the Iowa cat at Tackle. Leonard Williams would be my choice at 5 |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
LOVE Leonard Williams at 5. Unless we trade down, I don't see any of the OTs being as "can't-miss" as he is. Unless that OT from Miami shoots up the board, I just would feel uncomfortable drafting Scherff only to have him get owned at RT. He might be great in the run game, but we need an all-around tackle. Would also be a shame to draft him that high and plug him in at guard.

Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
McShay has the Skins taking Shane Ray out of Mizzou.
|
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Leonard Williams in the b&g would make my day. But I doubt he drops to #5.
Randy Gregory would be awesome, too. He needs to bulk a bit but should be a badass pass rusher in the NFL. IMO no QB's will go in the top 10 or maybe even the top 20. |

I'd really like to see us trade down and end up with multiple lineman in the first few rounds. |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
With the amount of DE busts coming out every year, the last thing I want to draft first is a DE.

Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Collins. Best Safety and well we've needed one for years now. Is 5 to high for him?

yes, he is a strong safety with questionable coverage skills |

Which is an amazing pick for us. I hope we do get him. Next JJ Watt |

I doubt it Ray is much smaller than Watt Scouting the DE’s: Shane Ray, Missouri | FirstRoundGrade.com |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Now, if we get Scot McCloughan, then all bets are off for me. If he deems a DE worthy of a top five pick, I trust him (at least right now). Sure, EVERYONE has hits and misses, but this guy is a borderline genius:

Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Dorial Green-Beckham in the 3rd then trade Garcon for some picks, lol.

Please no. I'd like to see exactly ZERO running backs and wide receivers taken. O-line, D-line and secondary only. Do that for a few years and then worry about the skill positions. |

NO WAY. Need to see this!
|
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
This truly made my off-season. He might turn into the biggest drunk ever, but man, this is the type of move that makes me excited.
|
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Leonard Williams in the first
Danny Shelton or La'ell Collins in the 2nd |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Folks, we have no shot of drafting Leonard Williams, even if two of the teams who draft ahead of us take QB's.

I agree. Randy Gregory might make it to us, though. |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
After this GM signing, I will put 100% faith in whoever he wants to draft. Still gun-shy about a DE, but this man knows his stuff.

My favorite player in the draft is whoever Scottie Mac likes

Ahhhhhh the time of the year when everyone says we have no shit of drafting anyone. Gotta love it |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
My pick at 5 would be Randy Gregory or Shane Ray. I think either player would be a huge upgrade to our pass rush.

Todd McShay says Ray should be the pick. He thinks the best OL of this draft should not picked till #10. We do need a pass rusher as well as OL. |

I have 2 future 1st round picks that say otherwise, thank you very much! |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
I'm going to continue to stick with my belief that a top offensive line wins games.
I'm not picking a starting DE in the first 4 because thats Murphys spot to fill. OT Andrus Peat in the 1st FS Derron Smith in the 2nd C Hroniss Grasu in the 3rd DT Gabe Wright in the 4th |
Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
I looked at all of the guys that's projected to go in the top ten and I would have pick Shane Ray. In my opinion he's the best edge rusher in the draft. I love Randy Gregory size and freakish athleticism. I kinda of leaning more toward Shane Ray.

You don't pick a right tackle at #5, anyway. Right tackles are taken in the 20's of the first round and in later rounds. |
You don't pick a right tackle at #5, anyway. Right tackles are taken in the 20's of the first round and in later rounds.
It's a lot of very talented players that will be available on the interior line when we pick in the second round. We can get a day one starter at C or OG. At the first pick we have to get better up front on either side of the ball. The best player on the board will likely be a pass rusher. I think we really got a chance to do with our first two picks. What do you think?

Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
Everything starts with free-agents. One writer tweeted they could clear $15 million in cap space, and have over $30 million in cap room. It is impossible to guess draft choices until most of the free agents are signed.
I would start with Stefen Wisniewski PSU 26 year old C from Oakland- give him $7-9 million. Then add some plan B DBs. and a few other mid-level players ..... TE, OL, DL and ? No $$$$$ free agents WalterFootball.com: 2015 NFL Free Agents - Centers |

According to CBS Sports, Gregory's closest NFL comparison is Aldon Smith, who was drafted by San Francisco, undoubtedly using a draft board that had plenty of McC input, with the 7th overall pick in 2011. Probably irrelevant, but interesting... I still think if Leonard Williams isn't available, we need to trade back. You know there will be plenty of teams interested in moving up to #5, and we need lots of talent. Gaining several more high picks(a 2nd, a 3rd, maybe another future high pick) would be much wiser than taking a project OLB or a RT that high IMO. Williams is the exception because in my opinion, he's by far the best defender in the class as well as a safe bet. |

Due to the fact that they're harder to come by. In my opinion Shane Ray and Randy Gregory has the potential to be elite pass rushers. This team needs a pass rush just as much as we need OL help. With all of the issues we had in 2014 with our pass rusher I'm going to get the best rusher available. If someone is offering a good trade to come up to 5, I'll take it. However, I wouldn't just make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. We did that in 2011, and it cost us JJ Watt, an MVP caliber defender. |

Re: 2015 Draft Prospects... First Edition
I would be surprised Leonard Williams won't slip to us otherwise he is my first round pick. Otherwise I am drafting Brandon Schreff or trading down to draft Ronnie Stanley.
