Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
My draft scenario: Philly trades for Mariota gives up the RG3 style ransom. Cleveland trades with us for their 2 first and their second rounder for our 1st and 2nd. we draft Gregory and Collins.

That is so true! But If SD wants Mariota, they need to move up to #2 to make sure they get him. On the other side of the trade, with new ownership on the way Whisenhunt needs to win now. Whisenhunt coached Rivers in SD and he knows he can win with him. Tennessee already has a decent OL, so Rivers should flourish there. This trade just makes too much sense not to be a possibility. |

Rivers has one year left on his contract- not interested unless he signs an extension |

I agree, a contract would have to be negotiated prior to the draft. He's also 33. I'm pretty done with the vet players. No doubt he's a very very good QB. Not worth what we'd have to give up, pay him, and how long he'd be here. 1. Tampa - Winston 2. Tenn - Mariotta (Trade possible) 3. Jacksonville - Fowler 4. Raiders - Cooper 5. Skins - Williams 6. Jets - Beasley 7. Bears - Shelton 8. Falcons - Bud Dupree 9. Giants - Scherff 10. Rams - Kevin White |

We just don't know which team yet. If Williams is on the board when we pick, it should take SM about a pico-second to turn in the card with his name on it. As for St. Louis, shouldn't there be a team limit on WR's from WVU? |

1st: Amari Cooper WR, Alabama
2nd: Laken Tomlinson G, Duke 3rd: Ameer Abdullah RB, Nebraska 4th: Anthony Harris S, Virginia 5th: BPA 6th: BPA 7th: BPA this is with no trades obviously |
Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
Hi, I've been lurking for a while here, this is my first post. Be gentle.
I moved out of the Redskin broadcast area, but continue to be a die hard fan. Id like to see us trade down, preferably with Cleveland for two firsts. Pick up an olinemen and Kevin White maybe. We did pretty good in free agency on the defensive front. I didn't get to see every game unfortunately last year, but I have to ask did Trent Murphy play that bad while filling in for Orakpo? I agree with best player available, but it seems like people are counting Trent out already. Being as I didn't see all the games he started, I'm very curious how he is perceived in the community. I haven't seen much on him, sometimes no press is bad press. |

If we were to do the deal with Cleveland, I think your mock of Randy Gregory and La'el Collins in the first round would be perfect for us. Landon Collins would be a good pick too IMO but there's no need to overthink it when you already made two great picks. p.s. Whoops! Wrong poster's mock. Stiil, great picks by the Die Hard, IMO. |

Maybe he'll improve his pass rush this season. We wouldn't be starving for an OLB if we don't draft one but it's always good to improve the pass rush, if possible. |

Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
Yeah, I saw Trent didn't have many sacks, he caused two fumbles and recovered one in 8 starts. Not great but not horrible. I said WR but was misinformed on the age of Jackson and Garcon, so I take that wr idea back.
Id love to add more pass rush definitely. So many options even if we miss out on some of the higher rated players. Fowler, Ray, Beasley, Gregory, Dupree, Shelton would all be gladly welcomed, assuming Williams is gone early as everyone predicts. I just dont want the offensive line to be neglected. We have to protect whoever ends up back there, tired of hearing the excuses. |

We have 2 new starters right now and there is no guarantee on Collins. I see him as a Strong Safety and we have like 5 of them on the roster. I was tweeting with John Keim and he mentioned we could draft La'rel to move him in at RG keeping Moses at RT. That adds some size and nastiness to that group who to me play soft. Plus I really hate Chester. |
Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
I'll do two scenario five rounders -
1. Vic Beasley - OLB 2. TJ Clemmings - OT 3. Hroniss Grasu - C 4. Jaquiski Tartt - S 5. David Cobb - RB The trade no one saw coming Mariota falls to Washington. Washington trades its #5 spot to Denver. And its 6th round pick. Washington gets Denvers #28 spot in the first. Its 2nd 3rd and 2 5ths in 2015 and its 5th in 2016 1. Ereck Flowers - OT 2. Shaq Thompson OLB/Converts to safety 2. AJ Cann - OG 3. Denzel Perryman - ILB 3. Jeremy Langford - RB 4. Rakeem Nunez-Roches - DT 5. Cody Fajardo - QB 5. Tony Lippett - WR 5. Charlie Gaines - CB |
Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
Did a run through on the Fanspeak simulator, and this is what I came up with for the Skins for all 7 rounds. I would be happy with it.

He was on Redskins Nation the other day with no "s" Larry Michael. He has definitely gotten bigger and said he had made this offseason's focus on lower body strength and getting off the ball quicker. I thought he snap reaction was really good last year, but lacks a good quick move. I think he is gonna perform well this year. He is going to be a really good player but I doubt he will ever turn into an elite pass rusher. |
Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
if we take a rb higher than round 5 or 6, he better start.

Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
I have two, one if we trade with the Browns and one where we don't:
(No trade) 1st: Amari Cooper WR, Alabama 2nd: Jake Fisher OT, Oregon 3rd: Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska 4th: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu CB, Oregon 5th: Nick O'Leary TE, Florida State 6th: BPA 7th: BPA If we trade with the Browns (My scenario has us getting their 12th, 19th, and 3rd round pick) 1st: Alvin "Bud" Dupree OLB, Kentucky 1st: La'el Collins OT, LSU 2nd: Byron Jones CB/S, UConn 3rd: Stefon Diggs WR, Maryland 3rd: A.J. Cann OG, South Carolina 4th: Tevin Coleman RB, Indiana 5th: Nick O'Leary TE, Florida State 6th: BPA 7th: BPA |
Re: Go ahead, Mock me! Mock Draft 2015
I just did this draft on the Fanspeak simulator. Obviously this is without any trades. I actually feel really good about the guys i managed to land. The first 4 to go were Winston, Williams, Beasley, then Cooper.
1. OLB| Dante Fowler jr.| Florida 2. S | Quinten Rollins| Miami Ohio 3. CB | Ronald Darby| Florida State 4. OT | Rob Havenstein| Wisconsin 5. TE | Jesse James| Penn State 6. G | Jamon Brown| Louisville 7. C | Max Garcia| Florida In rounds 1-3, I was able to add guys who i believe will fill most of the remaining holes on the defense with pretty damn good players in my opinion. I had planned to go offensive line with some of these early picks but I love all three of those players so i couldn't resist picking them. For rounds 4-7 my goal was pretty much to help RG3 (or whoever our quarterback will be for most of the season) as much as possible. In order to do this I tried to patch up the line as much as possible with big maulers and road graders who were 310+ lbs. Some of them fell as far as they did not because of a lack of athleticism, but because of unrefined technique. I think Coach Callahan could help them out with that. As for the TE, Jesse James, I think he could come in and be a good insurance policy to Jordan Reed and would add tight end to our roster who is capable of blocking. I believe that all of these players could come in and compete for a starting spot on this roster from day one so i was pretty excited that the draft simulator fell this way. |
