Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

There is an excellent new video of FUTURE HALL OF FAMER Ade Jimoh on redskins.com. He and Micheals walk out in the parking lot and discuss, among other things, the car of choice at redskins park. Also, we learn that Ade is the number ONE most popular #23 in all of Sports--including Michael Jordan--as voted by the Chesterfield Elementary School. Way to go, Jimoh! :biggthump

Ade Jimoh - "Special Teams Demon"

I love it!

I don't think I have ever seen Ade interviewed before but he is very well spoken and seems to be on the ball. Great interview even though it was realy casual and not all about football.

Ha! Jimoh scoffs at people with 4-cylinder engines...

Bastard.

that was a nice video. even though parts of it weren't about football, i still respect it because of what the skins are doing for the fans. im kinda happy that this little coverage war is going on. it means more for us.

TAFKAS should change his name to ADESMACK :)

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

I think that has been discussed. I don't know why he didn't. "The Ade" is class at it's best. :)

Yes, we had a poll and it was discussed, unfortunately, I think i was the only one that voted for him to choose the ADE moniker.........

Anyway Ade seems like a good guy............ good luck in 2005 Ade........

Yeah, I was shocked that the rides weren't more tricked out than that. I mean Yukons are nothing to be ashamed of my no means, but I would expect body kits, rims, etc.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

Here's an idea. Someone should get a custom "Jimoh" jersey from the Redskins store so that even if he gets traded, most people will just think your last name is Jimoh. And while he IS on the team, you have a great conversation piece that your favorite player is a special teams "demon".

I love it!

Well we had the open thread for people to chime in their suggestions, then I met with the Knights of the Warpath Roundtable to cut it down to five and ADESMACK alas did not make the final list

I think Ade Jimoh Fan Club does a fine job carrying the name. I'd only be getting in the way

I hear that's the special gift for Fan Appreciation Day this year. It would totally kick ass if you got your special teams tool bag, and opened it up to find a limited edition Ade Jimoh jersey tucked inside.

Joe - I seem to remember you having some really good Ade Jimoh audio from camp! Can't remember if it was last year or the year before! He seemed like a really hard working, quiet, down to earth guy.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

just the kind of player the skins need. i hope he has a great season. he should definitely go up one or two spots on the depth chart. we have a lot of good players at cornerback though.
shawn springs #1 starter
walt harris #2 (until carlos rogers is ready)
carlos rogers nickel (until he's ready to start, then harris)
ade jimoh (springs backup, possible nickel)
garnell wilds (#2 backup)
rufus brown (i've been impressed with him in nfl europe)
the rest could be practice squad players

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

ade still cant cover, garnell and rufus are probably better at corner right now...

Ade's very humble, and his personality definitely fits with what I think Joe Gibbs looks for in his players. He's smart, well-spoken, thoughtful and generally a nice guy to talk to. Of course, none of those things necessarily make him an ideal football player. But you need personalities like that on the team. Guys that take pride in their work, knowing the team is and always will be bigger than them, studying hard in the classroom, working hard on the practice field, and being polite and friendly and saying all the right things when he talks to the media.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

Adebola Jimoh that's Ade, my boy from Los Angeles, Ca. I'm happy to see Ade come this far. I remember when Ade and I were 2 poor high school Student Athletes at El Camino Real High. Now he's playing on Sundays. I'm so prod of Ade. This just shows his dedication. I knew Ade would be something great in life because he's a humble individual. I see him making plays on special teams, which isn't very easy to do. Hopfully being a potential starter in this great leauge. Being from Los Angeles I've had several stars on my teams, Jason Hart, Baron Davis, Jamel Jones, Quincy Wright, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, but Adebola Jimoh aka "BOLROCK" and Quincy Wright were my closest friends. Most of those players are now household names in football and basketball. I played football with all of them from Pop warner to College. But Ade, Jamel and Quincy were the closest ones to me.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

Great post! Good to hear about The Ade's impact on friends from the past. He gets a lot of jokes on this board because of coverage lapses (on occasion), but there is no doubt he is one of the leaders on the team and he's not afraid to do the dirty work (ie special teams). And he made some clutch plays in the Denver game. In short, the ADE is a stud!

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

you know, i think that deep ball he actually defended for once should make his career highlight reel. mainly because that's how rare it is.

TheMalcolmConnection 10-12-2005 02:59 PM

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

I can see it now:

"Ade Jimoh: Career Highlights"

*fade in* And Jimoh knocks the ball away from Lelie! *fade out*

The end.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

Ade has a lot of heart, he so far lacks the instinkt's of a good CB, but he has shown improvement, I wouldn't be surprised to see him land a starting job someday, when you work your tail off to be better and have a big heart to succeed you can overcome a lot of obstacles towards success.

Re: Ade Jimoh fan club!!!

The talent level in the NFL is really incomprehensible. It's not just the athletic ability but it's being able to read and react to your counterpart that's so hard. Like Steve and Chad. Those two are blessed with amazing athletic ability but they also work hard in the film room, off season and they study their opponents. The details are so serious, any false read = touchdown. Ade has the ability to become great it's the adjustments that are so difficult. Cornerback is the most difficult position to play in the NFL. T.O., Randy and Santana Moss, Chad Johnson, Tory Holt, Marvin Harrison, the list dosen't stop there; it's 20 recievers in this league that we don't know and they could get the job done. As a cornerback on a deserted island you have to defend those type of athletes. Ade can do it!
