Is anyone else getting tired of reading about the players we lost this offseason? Do you want to look forward, and not backward? If so, this is the thread for you!

i have to say jason campbell. the other signings didn't suprise me a lot, and our quarterback situation really intrigues me. i just want the season to start to see if ramsey is our guy, and if not, how long it will be before jason gets to start.

McCume is a big fast middle linebacker who dominated at Louisville, he'll also dominate in the NFL. Also the fullbacks we drafted to be change of pace and goal line impacts

I'm very excited about McCune. I don't expect him to have an impact on our defense until 2007, but he's got enormous potential. I do suspect that he will have an immediate impact on special teams, where his speed, agility, and raw strength should make a huge difference. I think Danny Smith had a hand in drafting McCune; in the 5th round, the player has to be a special teams-type guy and McCune fits the bill.

I'm also excited about Carlos Rodgers and his toughness. We badly needed quality youth at corner after losing Bailey and Smoot. Rodgers could be a force against the run and a quality cover corner. He's the kind of corner I like. I prefer hard-nosed corners to semi-physical cover guys. As much as I liked Smoot, I saw him whiff on no less than 6 sacks (i.e. against the Ravens, Packers, Cowgirls). I don't think we need to worry about Rodgers looking like he's playing flag football when he's rushing the quarterback.

As far as this year is concerned I'm most excited about finally having a wr like Moss who has the talent to make big plays anytime he gets the ball in his hands, but for the future of the team I'm most excited to see how Cambell develops these next 12-16 monthes.
I think I'm more curious than excited as far as Mccumes goes, cuz if Williams can mesh Mccumes obvious physical talents with the knowledge of leading the team on the field and reading plays properly, he possibly has the most potential of anyone brought in this year.

Ill have to say that I'm most excited aout Moss. He brings the big play, as a receiver and punt returner. With the quickness they are bringing in and the ability Campbell has to lead receivers and throw medium range lasers I think theres a personnel genius ready to be unveiled again.

Id love to see McCune play on obvious running downs and special teams. Heres some info on our newest defensive beast.

I have to say Pierson Prioleau at safety/special teams. He worked with G.W. for 3 years in Buffalo and can be a situational safety that can hit well. We may be able to work some 3 safety 2 LB sets out with him and Taylor deep and Bowen at the line blitzing. Also with less experience at CB, it's good to have a lot of options at safety to keep us from getting beat deep, which T.O. (if he plays) can do to you.

I'm excited about Moss and what he brings to the table in terms of speed and playmaking ability, something we've lacked since Coles' toe became an issue. I'm also excited about Patten for his speed and leadership.

I know people are pumped about McCune, he looks great but I'm going to need to see a bit more than just a sculpted frame to get excited about him.

For me at least, there's more than his sculpted body. McCune runs like a corner at MLB, is as strong as a defensive lineman, and hits incredibly hard. Beyond that, he's got great character, an unusually fantastic work ethic, and showed great potential at Louisville. The guy was the star special teams player in his first year playing football. He led the team in tackles in the first year he started after being away from football for four years. Moreover, McCune was a mid-second round talent who slipped due to his advanced age - he'll likely be 31 when he signs on for his second NFL contract. While he's raw, I'm willing to bet this guy is going to be a stud within two years.

I voted other, but I really didnt read the everything. I was going to vote for Taylor Jacobs, but then I saw it said "NEW" redskin. Anyhow I would have voted for Moss and Patten. I am really excited to see how our revamped WR core will do.

McCune certainly has potential. What does it say about our offseason, though, that a fifth-round linebacker is drawing as many votes as our first-round picks and speedy new WRs? That cannot be a good sign ...

I'm more excited about McCune then guys like Patten or Moss because he was a 5th rounder and a great value. If McCune was drafted in the first round, I'd be pissed because it'd be a waste.

I like Patten and Moss, but I don't think they're top notch wideouts. Although I know we can't have Pro Bowlers at every position, I would like to have one true #1 wideout. Unfortunately, I don't believe that Patten or Moss are true #1s.

Honestly, I'm excited to have Casey Rabach. I know hes not a spectacular, top teir player. However, I think with him coming in, and the return of Jon Jansen, our offensive line is going take huge strides. The game is won in the trenches and I think this is going to be a very good addition.

Maybe it is just my opinion, but I just don't see anyone that I want to vote for! Since FB is a team game, each of these players will have to depend on each of his teammates in order to have success. I like some, but certainly not all, (I totally dislike the Campbell trade up and pick!) and I'm not excited about those that I like!

On the other hand, since I see no standouts, the TEAM (collectively) may be better!

We know that HOF Coach Gibbs will not start the Rookies right away, so the vets immediately get a jump-up! If this board were a guage, I think all here were more "excited" about Rabach and Holdman of the signees. More excited about Rogers than any other Rookie, and more excited about Moss than Patten, but only because we got rid of L. Coles!
So there is no ONE particular player!

I don't know if I can say I'm excited to see any one new "player". What I'm most excited for is to see the effect these new players have on the team as a whole. I'm probably splitting hairs with that statement, if it makes any sense at all, but let me explain.

I'm certainly excited to see Moss bring the big long TD bomb that we desperately need, but just as much, I'm excited to see what effect his speed (as well as Patten's) has on the way the defenses play our team. I'm excited to see whether they can keep the safeties honest, preventing them from coming up and stacking the box. Really, the effect I hope Moss & Patten have is to open up more running lanes for Portis.

Also, with that in mind, I'm really excited about Rabach. I'm excited because he's young and new, but I'm really anticipating seeing his speed in getting out on some of those pulling blocks he'll need to run. Raymer just couldn't pull as quickly as was needed, and couldn't get in position to block, and I thought LBs were able to stack up in the hole against Portis last year. I'm excited to see Rabach get out to the linebackers with his speed, and see if Portis can get hit full speed before getting hit (instead of getting hit before he got to full speed). I think with Rabach, the opportunity is there to seal off a few more blocks.

I'm also very excited to have a much more nimble RT. Getting Jansen back is huge.

I'm also extremely excited to see if we have improvement in short-yardage due to the fullbacks we just drafted. I don't care if they never touch the ball, I just want to see if they can bulldoze some dudes down around the goalline.

Basically, we've brought in a few new parts on offense, which is great. But I'm focusing on what effect that's going to have on a player we already have, our best offensive player, Clinton Portis. I'm most excited to see if that 3.8 yards per carry can become 4.5, with several game-breaking TD romps. Gibbs is still, and always will be, a run-first guy. I love the running game.

I'm also excited to see if Ramsey can make a leap, and excited to see Antonio Brown on returns for a full season, and special-teams in general.

I find reasons for optimism. We'll have our share of issues, for sure, but I like where we're headed.

I am most excited about the receivers we have obtained! I think, with their speed, they will be able to CREATE a little more SEPARATION than Coles and Gardner could. Not only going deep but working all routes. I think this tandem, IF WE USE THEM CORRECTLY, will be MUCH better than Coles and Gardner!

I agree. I was torn in making a decision too. Each one of these players plays off the other. As far as pure excitement, I'm going with Moss too. After hearing how he REALLY felt (minus what Rosenhaus TOLD him to do) it seems like he really wants to be here. I'm very happy with the fact that 77% of his completions went for first downs. The guy knows how to get in the end zone.

I like that FB from the Citadel (Nehmeiah?) - he is a beast and will really help our running game.

Aside from that, I like the O-Line improvement. With Jansen back in action and Rabach at Center, the only question mark is LG and I think we've got plenty of good prospects for that.

I'd also say it's Jacobs year to shine. I am tired of hearing about his potential and haven't even seen a glimpse of it yet... He needs to get in the game...

I haven't heard anyone talking about Aki Jones out of Fordham - he will be a terror on the D-Line this fall - you read it here first!

You don't have permission to create polls. It's something that the mods don't allow normal users, like you and I, to do.

I'm excited to see what our special teams will look like this season. It looks like alot of our new players were pick not only for their talent at their position but for their ability to contripute on special teams. I think they will be tops in the league this year and will win several games for us.

I'd love to have special teams be something we are known for. I mean every year there is a team that is tops in punting and kicking coverage. I want the Skins to be known as the team you are LUCKY to make it back to the 10-yard line on for kickoffs.

That's not to say we don't take into consideration polls that you mere mortals reccomend. PM any one of us with your poll ideas and we always take them into consideration

I am excited to see McCune the most. I would love to see him develop into a starter and renew my faith in our misfit frontoffice's ability to find talent beyond the 1st day of the draft. The Redskins have not had much luck in the later rounds, but I really think they may have something with McCune and MLB is a definite spot of need.

Seriously though, we restrict the creation of polls to the moderators only so we don't have a board full of polls, I've seen other forums that allow everyone to create polls and it seems to get a little out of control.

See, I think we're moving in the right direction when there isn't one off-season signing that can be seen as "our savior" for the year. We filled needs instead of going for flash. And that's why I haven't been more excited than when we signed Rabach. He'll help anchor the line. You probably won't hear his name called much during the season, but I really feel he'll help our offense in several ways.

If I had to pick what I'm most excited about in general, I would say I'm most excited to see the formations Gibbs is going to run with a new mind at QB coach. I know he won't set the plays, but I'm sure he'll have some valuable input.

I don't know who mentioned him first, but Rabach is definately I guy I didn't consider/remember. He should be a very solid addition and hopefully he'll help Portis get over 4.2 ypc.

It seems that our offense is getting a complete overhaul from last year .

I think he said he's going to try it out in camp and see how it works. Fumbles are much more common when using the shotgun formation. I wouldn't mind it in long yardage situations, I just don't want to see it a WHOLE lot.

I think Nemo will be make the big splash, Roger's is expected to produce which I believe he will, but other than Rogers, Nemo will make the biggest impact of the rook's.
