It's that time ladies and gentlemen. Time to get our hopes up and predict blowouts! I actually see us playing well, but won't be able to run the ball much which will force Jay to become 1 dimensional.

Their O line is pretty banged up. I think we can get to the their QB and be stout against the run.

I think our D keeps it close and allows our play calling to be balanced.

Can't wait for Alf and Jones to split carries. Alf will be so much fresher in the second half compared to the last couple of years. Before the end of the year Jones takes an opposing defender out of a game.

Really wish we had a 280lb TE to put on the right side. Not sure how that's going to turn out.

If Kirk can survive the first half, hopefully our RB can wear them out. I believe we will run better in the 2nd half than we will the 1st. We have to keep pounding it with Alf, Jones, and DY.

Matt Jones is not Roy Helu!

Dolphins 27, Skins 13. Agree Bucket, running will be tough, leading to more pressure on Kirk and interceptions. Plus Dolphins have a good QB and it's looking like we will once again have a piss poor secondary, especially with Breeland out.

I have no prediction. I just want to see a competitive team that plays hard, gets steadily better, and finishes with a better record than last season. I'm hoping for 8-8. Anything better than 8-8 would be awesome!

I think the defense will actually be solid in this game as everyone but breeland will be in together. Kerrigan and others didn't play much in preseason

I really dont know. The preseason was whacko.....
I will say that if we win this opener we will probably eclipse .500 for the season.

1.We really need the oline to protect cousins in passing situations because Miami is very capable rushing the passer.

2. The key to our season will be running the ball, Alfmo and Matt jones are physical backs, let's set the tone at home week 1 of smash mouf football.

3. Tannahill looks like a real qb this preseason for the first time in his career. He stands tall in the pocket...we need to keep him on his toes and knock him off his spot in the pocket. He is mobile, but he doesn't make plays outside the pocket like Big Ben, romo or Rogers.


I think the game comes down to who ever Oline protects and open holes for the running game. I think this is a sloppy first half and we keep it close, losing in the end: 20-26 Miami

Wake/Suh & co. dominate our O-line, Tannehill has the time of his life v. our secondary... I don't see this one going well.

If we have less than 50 yards of rushing, Kirk throws a pick 6 and those two give up several big plays the score will be something like 42-10.

I would be more confident if Breeland was playing (out on suspension) along with Galette, and on the offense ---O line meet SUH.......

There's no doubt in my mind this will be a defensive game. Both defensive lines will be stout. I like Jackson's chances to break a bomb loose, but Tannehill makes one more play than Kirk. 20-17 Dolphins

I am pumped.

I mean we are probably going to blow harder than ever before but for some reason I am still excited about football.

I think we'll keep it close and we won't get blown out. But I don't think we'll win.

SKINS 24 DOLPHINS 21 ..FIELD GOAL AT THE LAST SECONDS!! Cousins has a good game throws 2 td's 1 interception..and we get a defensive TD …The D keeps the pressure on and has key plays in this thriller…plus the cowboys lose and the eagles lose..Giants win ..so for the 1st week we are tied for first.

I think this is probably about as realistic as anyone is going to get on this game.

When we've had anyone other than RG3 behind center, that line hasn't been as atrocious as people want to believe. Do they break down, yes but it's not like 5 high school kids out there. Callahan will coach them up.

The secondary on the other hand scares me.

Exactly. And Kirk's been the best at not getting sacked the last few seasons, but maybe that's why he forces passes sometimes. Who knows, but there shouldn't be the same concern about Cousins taking hits and getting hurt, because he seems to be aware of what's going to happen PRE-SNAP and one of his strengths is getting the ball out quickly... sometimes to the wrong team unfortunately. Most young QBs correct that and hopefully he will be one of them.

Gruden gameplans for the quick release style offense. We know the drill:

Screen passes to the running back, quick slants, and lots of those stupid bubble screens. We take a few shots deep, but get caught and Kirk Cousins throws 2INT's and one sack fumble.

Despite this, the defense impresses and gives up only 19 points, (offense for Miami really hasn't recovered after losing that stud TE a few years ago :-) . Still not enough-

They seem ready to take the next step. Young QB ready to improve. Huge investment in Suh.

I just havent seen many Dolphin games the last few years.

If our Oline can hold up in Pass protection, Cousins could very well light up the Dolphins, the dolphins secondary is not good. I really really hope D Jax is ready to play. Like Schneed says, he changes everything

The old adage that it's best to avoid playing crappy teams early in the season because they don't know they're crappy yet may apply here. Who the heck knows what either team will do? Maybe one or both of these teams will be crappy (or neither). All pure speculation at this point.

For the Dolphins, they have no running game to speak of. They have a QB that has improved and likely on the upswing, but let's not anoint him the next Brady or Brees just yet. And their secondary isn't any better than ours. Suh should scare us all, but it isn't like we haven't faced him and the Lions in recent years (with a worse line than what we should have now).

On the other hand, our secondary has question marks, particularly at safety, and we don't know how Scherff and Moses will hold up in prime time (and the Phins D line will be as good as any they face this year). In most other phases of the game, I think it's a toss up -- sure they have Devante Parker, but he's a rookie, and we have DJax and Garcon (not to mention Jordan Reed) -- solid targets all around. And who knows what we have with Cousins?

For the Phins AND Redskins fans who say that their team will dominate, my response is maybe, but that's pure guesswork at this point. It's a lot easier to start making those predictions once you're a few games into the season and you can see what your team brings to the table (or doesn't). Not saying it isn't fun to make predictions, but I saw comments from Phins fans saying that if they don't win by 2 TDs they'll be disappointed, or a prediction of 34-6. Please. Your team hasn't done that to anyone since Marino was still playing (and our team hasn't since Joe Gibbs version 1.0).
