Jason Campbell
Will he start?
|
Re: Jason Campbell
Yes.......in the preseason.
|
Re: Jason Campbell
No.
Not even in preseason. Unless someone gets hurt. Then maybe. |
Re: Jason Campbell
not this year
|
Re: Jason Campbell
Only if Ramsey goes down and Brunnel plays like last year.
|
Re: Jason Campbell
PReseason.
|
Re: Jason Campbell
HEll if Ramsey do go down....let's see there's always Mark Bru-hell.........Jason Campbell is a 1st rounder....he has the skills to pay the bills, don't care what some country hick said that he's a dumb player.....not to dumb to get the skins to draft him and pay him........

Re: Jason Campbell
There's a possibility he might start one preseason game just for gibbs to give him a quick sample of pro nfl starters instead of the camp scrubs he'll be facing in the other games. But there's no way he starts this year unless Ramsey is out.

Re: Jason Campbell
I'm excited to have Campbell but. Ramsey has the experience. Campbell throws (in the OTA snipet) looked sweet. It'll be difficult to defend those passes if he makes good reads. I wonder if he can zip balls into tight spots too like Ramsey. :oink:

Re: Jason Campbell
It's nice to know that Gibbs at least recognizes Brunnel cant even push Ramsey (much less start). We now have quality depth at the most important position on the team and protection in case Ramsey goes the way of Smoot and Pierce.

Re: Jason Campbell
That's something that hasn't been raised - Ramsey is entering a contract year and has tens of millions of reasons to step it up.
I'd better not have to change my screenname. I'll be pissed. |

Re: Jason Campbell
Despite what the so called experts say, I don't see it happening. Just look how long it took for Gibbs to give Ramsey a chance...
I really don't see him handing the team over to a rookie unless we're decimated by injuries or we're 0-8 and the season is totally lost. Even if the season were lost, I can't see Campbell starting unless he is REALLY impressive and clearly our best option. |

There is absolutely no way Jason Campbell starts this year.

He has impressed the coaches so far.... So I think he will start 2 and play in all 4 preseason games. Ramsey will be on a short leash this year... If he loses the first 3 games or so Campbell will be put in and Brunell will be his signal caller/teacher on the sidelines carrying the clipboard. While Ramsey will get some injury like turf toe and/or maybe some other mysterious illness and be on IR for the rest of the season. |

its contract year for "resigning" with us or have 1 year to back up before getting the boot |
Re: Jason Campbell
I hope Campbell doesnot start if he starts either Ramsey was hurt or Ramsey played such a bad season we are looking like the 49ers last year and Gibbs throws him in for experience. Thats the only way he starts this year, he might look good in preseason but we saw how Wurfell looked in preseason under Spurrier that means nothing.

Re: Jason Campbell
will he start?
will this stop? |

Will Batman and Robin escape from the clutches of the Penguin?
Will GI Joe destroy the Cobra base? |
Re: Jason Campbell
What if we have a Patriots type season, Ramsey winning 10 + games, then going down injured and Campbell takes us to a winning Super Bowl visit?
I'm just saying........ |
Re: Jason Campbell
A problem I'd love to have... :)

Re: Jason Campbell
We started Schuler, Wuerffel, Matthews... so many shitty QBs. Why not Campbell? If he sucks we'll just trade more draft picks next year for another unproven rook. Or maybe we'll sign Testes Verde or Kurt Warner or some other washed up dinosaur to a 7 year, 40+ millon dollar deal. Christ, I'm going to start drinking heavily.
|
Re: Jason Campbell
And then hop back into the time machine and come back to 2005. Don't worry duude.

Ramsey will start. Also in preseason. Campell will not play in regular season at all this year. If Ram gets hurt seriously then he'll go on injured reserve and they will find a veteren like Jeff George to compete with or back up Brunell for the starting job. |
Re: Jason Campbell
I hope you guys are kidding. Seriously, I think we can take solace in the fact that Gibbs has learned from last year. He is not interested in overpriced veterans.

Joe Gibbs did not start any of those bums.....and he appears to have learned his lesson from overpaying Brunell. He also considers pulling the QB a last resort, so Ramsey will not be on a short leash as someone has said, and will really have to be stinking up the joint to be replaced....see Brunell last year, and think about what could have happened had he made the switch 2-3 games earlier! Also, Gibbs likes veterans and will not start a rookie QB, unless it's his only option due to injuries, so Brunell will be the #2 this year, whether we like it or not. My prediction: Campbell will not start a regular season game before 2007....and what happens then will depend on Ramsey. |
Re: Jason Campbell
I think Ramsey will be the man the whole season - Campbell will get a drive here or there (hopefully) if we are ever in the situation of a big lead late in the game, Gibbs will probably give him a drive or two just to give him a little PT and experience of the speed of a real NFL game.
If Ramsey goes down injured or plays like Brunell did this past year we will see Brunell on the field (eek!). Other than a drive here or there Campbell won't get any serious PT, possibly a max of about 30 attempts all season - I'd be VERY suprised if he were to sit the whole season without and gametime at all. Preseason will be fun just to get a few glimpses of what he can do though. |

Re: Jason Campbell
He might get some time in a preseason game......... but hey so will Burnell, why risk injury to your starting QB, Ramsey............
|
Re: Jason Campbell
After last preseason, I'm concerned for ANY of our starters.
