Around the NFL: week 4
Power rankings are not really very useful, but sometimes the jabs say alot about our team, and division:
6. Atlanta Falcons (3-0) | Last Week’s Rank: 7 They have unofficially clinched the NFC East by beating the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys. Now they’ll work on the NFC South. Makes you wonder if the Falcons are good, or NFC East Bad... For the comment about Luck: 17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 18 It took all of one win to put the Colts in a four-way tie for first place in the AFC South. But clearly all is not well yet, not with the reports of unrest between Coach Chuck Pagano and GM Ryan Grigson, the lineup reshuffling along the offensive line and the seven interceptions thrown by QB Andrew Luck. Even Kirk Cousins probably thinks that is a lot. More specifically KC is thinking if I had 7 int's, the media would calling for my head 23. Houston Texans (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 30 Aren’t the Texans overdue for a starting-QB switch? think we can ask - RG3 anyone?? 24. Washington Redskins (1-2) | Last Week’s Rank: 23 Remember that talk last week about the Redskins being able to be in the mix in the right-now-dreadful NFC East? It’s a possibility that’s not even worth considering until the QB play gets better. There are some decent parts in place elsewhere. The defense has done its part and the offensive line and running game can be productive. But until Kirk Cousins stops throwing interceptions or the Redskins go from Plan B to Plan C at QB, there’s little hope of contending even in a bad division. The defense that allowed multiple 6+ minute drives. Hard to say they are looking at the actual film. |

wow, 6.5 million...really?
That's only because I left... I thought it's been known for a while he was the highest paid. It's closer to 7 million though. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
No wonder he hasn't coached in a while. That's a lot of damn money. He's really good on TV. He's re-invented himself and I enjoy listening to him for the most part.

Re: Around the NFL: week 4
I doubt jon ever comes back I mean y would he?

He's a competitor. The $ and low impact nature of TV will make it hard, but I would bet anything he's got days where he really seriously considers it. He'd command a lot of $ to coach too, and he'd have his pick of places to do it. There will always be a slew of openings at the end of the year. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Has anyone been suspended for a dirty hit yet?
Strange. You dont see the "contact to the Qb's head" or "leading w helmet" call nearly as much. I know a "contact to head' call was made last week but thats the only one i know of. Perhaps the players have adjusted to the rule changes protecting QBs? 2 years ago, you couldnt watch a game without multiple ticky tacky calls with Qbs pleading for calls every play. games were almost unwatchable bc penalties altered outcomes and flow of the game. |

wow, 6.5 million...really?
Not surprising really. Wasn't Madden getting something of that sort as well? |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Well it looks like the Giants arent going to sign Cooley

Good. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
cooley's workout in NY was due diligence, they weren't looking to sign someone. if someone goes down this year and they need a body, he's probably on the short list to fill in.

Definitely, because if you barely beat a Michael Vick QB'ed team, you're in trouble. I think Big Ben would have lit them up if he was healthy. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Ravens higher end draft picks have been busts or injured lately.
LB sergio kindle = fell down stairs, is out of football, did he ever take a snap? NT terrance cody = out of football, animal cruelty, wasnt doing great anyway FS matt elam = seemingly a bust, was more a SS playing FS, is he even on the 53? WR perrimen = injured so far this year Perrimen could very well pan out, but thats not a good list of your high draft picks over the past 3 years. (MLB mosley was stud last year, not sure about this year) CB jimmy smith has been okay, hasnt taken that next step. CB ladarius webb, since the injury, i thought he was going to be a top 10 shutdown corner. Haloti ngata = gone suggs= done for year, achillies |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
I wouldn't count the ravens out
|
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
As long as the Ravens have Newsome/DeCosta running the show, they will be fine. They may take a step or two back on occasion, but that is very well run organization.
I hate them. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
their fans are annoying as hell tho (i live in balmore)

Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Fitzmagic and the Jets are killing the Dolphins. I don't think Philbin is going to make it through the season.
Also, the Suh signing is blowing up in the Dolphins' face. |

U remember that Dolphins fan poster that was on here the first week? Poor guy. U remember that false hope we use to have going into every season? They got Suh!!! Tannahill just signed the big deal...young franchise qb. Ugh. That preseason hype...lol didn't he have a quote like "I've never seen a preseason where the ball didn't touch the ground!" Dude it's the Dolphins, wake the fuck up |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Dolphins fans definitely believed their hype coming into the season.

Their forums were expecting a 10,11 win season.. and I mean expecting like they would've bet their houses on it they were so sure of it.. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Makes our loss to them at home even worse. Dolphins are not a good team at all.

Dolphins are terrible at clock management. You are down by 2 scores with 3 minutes left.. get the hell out of bounds and f'ing hustle a little. These guys are beating themselves.. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Think I undersold the Giants, look a lot better than last year and should be the favorite to win the east. I guess spags can only coach in NY...defense playing really well.
|
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Suh is piece of work. He intentionally causes incidental contact just to be an ass. He's too good of a player to do it.

Is bill obrein still a great coach? Houston is garbage on offense and defense. Yuck
Where is Kyle shanny gonna be head coaching next year? |

They could very well be 4-0 right now. |

Colin kapernick looks effin terrible and San Fran paid him. 49ers are awful

Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Sf will be bad for a while they don't have any good young talent anymore.

Disagree. Baalke is as good as Scot McC as a GM and will get that team winning next year. He needs to do what Washington did, bench Kap. Their RT will be back next year, need a QB, some WR and CB's. |

Hmm that's a good answer, I think tannahill and shanny would be a good match. It would be great to see Kyle putting suh through a conditioning test as well. Make suh shit himself. |
Re: Around the NFL: week 4
Rodney Harrison can kiss my ass and will be eating his words by the end of the season.
|

That's like saying I'll win the lottery tomorrow. All of those are huge ?s. as we've seen it's not easy just drafting guys and making them studs |
