Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
5 Hours after the greatest comeback in team history and no postgame thread? For shame guys.
Best and Worst: Best: Comeback in team history (check) Quote by your mild mannered qb (YOU LIKE THAT?) Yes Kirk, I liked that. Tackle by your corner saving a touchdown and the game (check) Tale of 2 qbs in the first and second half, aka "he put da team on his back doe" nsfw language warning Return from injury award (Jordan Reed, check) Choice to attend a game for the first time in years and witness the game winning touchdown 7 rows behind the dream seats in the end zone award: (Myself) Worst: There was plenty not to like about the game, especially in the first half. But in light of Kirk "GOAT" Cousins and this team finding the resolve to come back from being down 24-0 I am going to pass on this today. I'm sure we'll have more opportunities in the future to lament the fortunes of this team so for now I will bask in the glow of witnessing an amazing game. Goodnight folks. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
BEST: That you started the Post Game thread
WORST: I didn't |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Best: Cousins, Reed, Grant, Crowder, Trenton Robinson, OL.
Worse: Running game, running D, 1st half. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
I don't like it I love it....Can we get that fired up version every week

Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Great comeback.
Kirk with no int's and again no running game. Thank goodness there was only 24 seconds left when Buc's got the ball because they would have scored,if they don't fumble they might have already been close enough. I heard Kerrigan broke his hand, does that mean he's out for the season? |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Good: low penalties, gruden flipping the 3rd quarter, breeland game saving tackle, special teams
Bad: our run defense needs to get fixed Great: cousins play, the team sticking together, and mother-f8cking Jordan Reed having a career day. No Jordan Reed, no win |

Best: KC, Whatever Gruden said at halftime (maybe just pretend you are losing from now on), Crowder Garcon and Reed, goal line stand to hold them to three at the end. Worst: anything to do with the run game on either side of the ball. The injuries. Not that Kerrigan has been exactly great this year but really? Its getting sickening. Edit: forgot about the pass rush. It is gross. |

Totally! Only for VIP members. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Good = Kirk and the entire offense in the 2nd half. Great performance.
Jay was also good and he deserves credit for the play calling. Defense in the 2nd half was solid. Jordan reed was a baller (please stay healthy) Oline was solid. Bad= run game again was very poor. Alf appears to have lost a step. Defense in the 1st half especially secondary. No pass rush. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
I wonder if winning through the air like that will get defenses less focused on the run. And in turn if that will help the run game at all.

Yup. I got so excited when I saw they were down to 1 timeout halfway into the third quarter. That just reflects poorly on the team. |

Add this to my list of positives. I dont remember if it was the second or third one but he did not look happy after one of them. Maybe not his call. Anyway when we were driving down the field at the end I was pretty happy about them having no timeouts. Maybe that is because I was strangely confident that KC was going to get it done. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Coaches in the NFL still fail to understand the value of timeouts. They are coupons for 40 seconds of game time. Why they constantly call them when they shouldn't is baffling. In many cases I think it is worth taking the 5-yarder instead of wasting them. Dum-dums.

Yup. Shanny was constantly out of timeouts early. This is one thing that Gruden seems to have improved. He seems to always have them in his back pocket. |

The whole point of the defense at that point was to tackle whoever in bounds and watch the clock go quad zeroes. But yes our defense has issues. I am starting to really question our LB play. Gap responsibility seems to be lost on a few of the starters. I think it is interesting when a guy like Compton, a lesser athlete, comes in and the D plays better. Makes me wonder if maybe he just plays his responsibility better. Have to watch the all-22 to see but I know Riley has been awful this year. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
As always I revisit the schedule on Monday morning to see what our competition looks like going forward. If we can steal one victory - ie the pats, panthers, dallas with romo and dez most likely- we have a shot at 9 or 10 wins imo.

Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Would love to see Jeffcoat get on the field more. I swear he's around the ball every time he's in.

Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
So as I pour my third cup of kool aid this beautiful Monday morning it also occurs to me that of the four nfc east teams, we arguably have the most favorable schedule going forward. Dallas has a brutal schedule remaining. Giants have a tough one also. The Eagles is not as bad, but appears to be tougher than ours. We are one game out and 1-1 in the division. We need to get healthier and these two weeks will hopefully do just that. We also need to re-establish our run game. Third thing would be we need pot roast n the boys to really step up their game n do some damage. They have to dominate the way they are capable of and lead this D to some big games. kC has got to eliminate the int's - it is clear that when he is on we win. Also when we get DJAX back our passing game might just be ....dare I say....pretty damn good?

The way Tampa Bay moved the ball on the last drive if they had all 3 timeouts it would have been scary. I still panicked with 24 seconds left and no timeouts. I just hope the bye is long enough to get Breeland, D-Hall, and Culliver back. If not Brady is going to throw for 500 yards. |

The defense also needs to take a remedial class on how to tackle. Tampa Bay ball carriers were getting a lot of yardage after initial contact mostly because the Redskins were using poor technique, not because ball carriers were blowing them up. they aren't winning 9-10 games tackling like they were yesterday. |

Yup. Goldson and Riley missed multiple tackles. I think this is the last year of Perry Riley. I think we should extend Robinson and replace Riley |

I agree, I don't see Riley starting next year. Our run game on both sides are struggling right now. Need to shore those up during much needed bye week. 3~4, about what I expected after 7 games before season started. |

Then as soon as the ref puts the ball in play they have time to snap it and attempt the fg.Its my guess thats exactly how it would have played out, which is bullshit. There needs to be a rule against that happening. I just went back and looked at replay, the f ing clock operator never started the clock at the beginning of the play,if it would have been overturned it would have been a convoluted mess trying to figure it out but I think they would have said 5 seconds left. The clock actually shows 12 seconds when he fumbles,if he doesnt fumble that would have given them time to spike it,anyway glad it didnt go down like that because it would have been a mess |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Kirk Cousins either looks like a top 10 Qb or a bottom 10 Qb. That 2nd half and 2 minute drill were beautiful.
He needs to find a way to go between good and average. Great comeback by him and the team. I've been a critic but he played great 2nd half. I felt like he was yelling at me after the game lol. The best - Ryan Grant and Crowder both looked nice. |

that was a quote from him after he effed up the skins-giants game a few years ago when the side judge, marker and chains all indicated 1 st down but he had it as 3rd but didnt bother correcting anybody. that clock error could have been huge if the bucs had retained the ball and lovie had the heads up to rush his FG out there and be ready for the snap once the play was whistled live again ... but obviously the bucs would have to sub players (bring St unit on) ... so we would be allowed to sub players as well? .... would the clock start but then run off bc we would be allowed 5 seconds to sub in? thankfully we dont need to worry about all that. |
