Around the NFL- Week 11
@JayGlazer
Scoopage: #Browns are making the switch to Johnny Manziel as starting QB for rest of the season @NFLonFOX This is why the Browns will continue to suck ass. McCown was playing exceptionally well, yet they decided to go with Johnny "flash in the pan" Manziel. This screams a move by the GM/Owner. I bet Kyle is so thankful he got out of that place. |

Keep playing Manziel and see if he's worth keeping or going back to the drawing board. |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Cowboys waived QB Brandon Weeden.
With Matt Cassel proving himself a "better" backup option and Tony Romo set to return from injured reserve-designated to return, there was little reason for the Cowboys to keep Weeden around. A first-round pick of the Browns in 2012, Weeden has started just 24 games in four seasons and has a 28-to-30 career touchdown-to-interception ratio. Already 32 years old, Weeden does not have any development upside, but he could land another backup gig. If there was any doubt before, this move almost guarantees Tony Romo will play this week |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Jerry on Weeden in September:
"This quarterback Weeden can drive the ball down field, he’s a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won’t see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it." It's a fun time to be a Cowboy hater. |

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
He is not a brilliant football mind. It burns me to say it but with all the talent and flash Dallas had had walk through their doors, they probably should have added a couple more lombardi trophies to their case by now, but the GM who keeps on giving keeps preventing it.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Can someone smart tell me why Jerry Jones is essentially like Dan Snyder when it comes to over-paying, meddling, signing big-name free agents, etc, and is able to at least consistently build a winning team and go to the playoffs, but yet Snyder does the exact same thing, but cannot seem to consistently win? It seems like we get a playoff team every four or five years, and yet Jerry almost does it every year with basically the same formula...what gives?
|
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
How much success has Jones really had since Jimmy Johnson left (not counting Switzer as that was JJ's team)?
Not much. I see a .500 type team that once in a while has a good season, but gets bounced early in the playoffs. Dallas Cowboys Team Encyclopedia | Pro-Football-Reference.com |

I think the Cowboys are basically they opposite of us; they start out strong, fizzle and go home with their tail between their legs. We start out like a bunch of bitches and then end the season by stealing your girl and saving the day. ...Usually. Just like the Cowboys, it varies from season to season. |

Dallas Cowboys Team Encyclopedia | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Yeah, the only success Jerry has really had is in the media where his team is overhyped every year. To answer SS84, I say often that Snyder has been going through a slow bake maturation, trying to find the right answer to win, and slowly removing himself from the equation. For us fans, it's been a nightmare, but he finally seems to be in the right place (at least for 52 of the 53 players), but JJ has never changed or even acknowledged a need to change, and his fan base is just as disgusted as we have been in the past. I wish DS could have evolved quicker, but at least he appears to be making solid moves in the right direction. |

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Per an ESPN Insider's article in regards to Manning. Manning pulling a RG3 on the team.
Peyton lied to the Broncos about the extent of his injury, suggesting it was only "sore," but seeking treatment outside of the facility. Then he said he was ready to go on Sunday when he should have taken himself out. This, coupled with how hurt he actually was at the end of last year has upset some folks within the organization about Peyton's perceived selfishness. And now, whether it's injury or performance, the Broncos are in the perfect position to see what they have in Osweiler, and be patient in choosing who's genuinely going to give them the best chance to win, without thought to whether Peyton has earned the benefit of the doubt if he says he's ready to go. If Peyton sees the field again, it will only be because he really is healthy and really is performing better than Brock. That's a win-win for the Broncos—possibly not so much for Peyton Manning.
|

Yeah I agree. I could see if they were still in the playoff hunt. There is no point for Clev to play McCown at this point. They have to find out if Manziel can play or not. |

The key is to make sure you sign human garbage. Character issues? Cowboys on that shit! It usually ends up biting them in the ass, but they always seem to get 1-2 productive years out of their POS character players before something happens. Happy that the media is finally holding them to task for the types of people they bring in. |

Yep, and everyone around here is now drinking the Brock-flavored koolaid. |

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Cray to hear folks say Peyton probably won't see the field again now that he is injuried. Folks saying Brock osweiler will hold on to the job.
Also funny hear the talking heads saying easy wins for philly and Dallas today. |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
If Dallas wins today, prepare for the Romo-Worship to fill the airwaves. I hope he tosses a bazillion picks and has a million fumbles as they get slaughtered.
<sigh> A man can dream. |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Winston has 5 tds

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Teddy is just another run first qb nothing special
|
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Flacco and Foster are out for the season, looks like the Ravens are picking in the top 5 next draft. I just can't see them winning no more than 2 games for the rest of the season.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Congrats to Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs for wining NASCAR and Happy Birthday tomorrow to coach Gibbs (my hero).

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
I think Brock osweiler answered the question today.
So do you start him next week against the pats? If Peyton is "healthy" u starting Peyton? What u doing? I think I sit Peyton for 2-3 weeks at the minimum...re evaluate Brock performance and Peyton health. Absolutely no way I play Peyton next week |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Bengals have the best unis in the league... I'm a little biased because those were basically our HS football jerseys but still

Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
I think the cards are taking the Lombardi this year. They are solid and deep.
|
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Orakpo having a much bigger year than Kerrigan...kinda sad.
What the explanation there? |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
If the NFL wants to go back to the leather helmet and no pads brand of football, I wish they'd just fast track it, instead of this gray area where they are trying to have things both ways. I can appreciate their concerns for head injuries, but the reality is, as long as guys are in helmets and pads they are going to be banging into each other at high speeds and we are seeing games being ruined because sometimes it is flagged and sometimes it is ignored or just simply not noticed.

How is that Chip Kelly thing going up in Philly?

Chip just has to get over his Napoleon Complex aka little man syndrome. Chip cant handle that someone is getting credit over him and his system, his ego wont allow it. Anyone that has been given any kind of credit was gotten rid of once he was allowed to call the shots. DeSean was given a lot of credit... gone. Shady McCoy was given a lot of credit... Gone. Their OL was called the best in the game and the reason for the offensive success... Broken up. Macklin was given some credit... No real attempt to resign him. Even Foles was given some credit... Traded for someone that runs the system much worse than him. No one is going to mistake Riley Cooper as the reason why the offense had success... Resigned to a contact that is over paying him. Chip thinks he can plug anyone in and his system is so good that it will still prevail. He is learning the hard way that talent matters. |
Re: Around the NFL- Week 11
Wouldn't hurt to give this guy a look, maybe a change of scenery might help? Never know.
