Domestic terrorism
While everyone is all fired up and paranoid over refugees and ISIS, meanwhile our own brand of terror continues to be a problem and yet the media never wants to call it what it is (white Christian terrorism) and our politicians never do anything about it.
And you can't tell me attacks on a Planned Parenthood aren't in part fueled by irresonsible GOP rhetoric. They need to step up and take some responsibility. And how the heck does a guy shoot up a PP including shooting 5 cops and end up being taken alive, while a black man with a knife walking away from police ends up getting shot 16 times in cold blood? It's a F'd up world we live in. |
Re: Domestic terrorism
I assume your just slinging shit to see where it splatters?
ISIS? Paranoia.......? State Department issues worldwide travel alert - CNNPolitics.com GOP responsible for PP attacks? really? I have an interesting philosophy. Maybe we hold people accountable for their own action..what say? As far as the white christian terrorists. It's probably the liberal media covering up for them, right? For me, I'll throw the switch on all they asses. Christian...Peace loving Muslim....Donald the Duck terrorist..... I am a equal opportunity executioner..... Nice to see this on the main page again |

Except this nation has a gun tragedy every day. |

Domestic terrorism been here since the the country was born...and the comparison vs foreign terrorism is Apple and oranges. Anti abortions nuts...nothing new. I would agree our government and this adminstration isn't doing enough to keep the country safe against either.

Re: Domestic terrorism
It drives me nuts how we are having this nationalism movement occurring when there is a genuine reason for concern for Syrian refugees. The vetting process in the U.S. is sound there is no reason to backburner it. When Cubans or those fleeing Nazi Germany fled and became refugees we welcomed them and in both of those incidents we were at war with an ideology we feared.
On the flip side please stop calling this white terrorism just call it domestic terrorism. |
Re: Domestic terrorism
It would be nice if we did start calling our own terrorists, it's what they are. Not gunman, or thugs, straight up terrorists.

Administration officials have acknowledged that checking the accuracy or authenticity of documents provided by refugee applicants against foreign government records can be especially difficult involving countries that don't cooperate with the U.S. government, such as Syria. It can also complicate U.S. efforts to check foreign government records for local arrests or lesser bureaucratic interactions, such as bank records, business licenses or civil filings. "We do the best we can with the information we have," one U.S. official said.—FBI Director James Comey told Congress weeks ago that the FBI sees a risk with Syrian refugees and "we will work hard to mitigate it." He said the biggest challenge is that a background check is as only as good as the information available. "That's the challenge we are all talking about, is that we can only query against that which we have collected. And so if someone has never made a ripple in the pond in Syria in a way that would get their identity or their interest reflected in our database, we can query our database until the cows come home but ... there will be nothing show up because we have no record on that person," Comey said. Interesting Hog. I was listening to "On Point" two Wednesdays ago and they were talking to someone from NSA that was saying differently. I would not be surprised if this is the case of one hand not talking to the other i.e. not knowing what or where to send the information at hand.

For all of the goodness contained within, the Bible is a decidedly horrifying and violent book, with many in-depth recountings of mass murder, rape, etc.. People will argue the "new testament vs Old testament", but it makes no difference. I am not against people having religion or going to church, etc, but i guess the argument could be made that in the USA, we are slowly seeing hate groups / supremacists rise up and do what they are doing in the name of Christianity. Matty is correct -the crazy Christians that do that stuff within the USA - need labeled terrorists, because thats what they are. |

They won't,not as long as the NRA has the public all worked up about the 2nd amendment.Shooting up a grade school was n't enough they said give all the teachers guns .Now this group ,not a single wacko ,a group comes and shoots up a place for mentally challenged people ,the NRA answer will be to arm everyone and this won't happen....................but it will ,over ,and over again. |

Anyone who is anti-gun control is partly responsible for every gun death. We all live in a less safe country because you can't get a hard on without shooting something. |
Re: Domestic terrorism
Pretty sad to see the media spin this as a workplace dispute. Wake up folks
|
Re: Domestic terrorism
What type of society have we become that would spawn such people that do these types of things?
|
Re: Domestic terrorism
I am no fan of gun control both from a philosophical and practical aspect. With that said, however, something has to be done. Freedom v. security is a constant challenge.
These attacks are consistent in going after the weak and undefended. People in church, children at school, and now the mentally challenged. The reason we band together as a society is - in part - to protect the defenseless among us from those who would otherwise harm them. On the other hand, if we strip away the right to protect ourselves and, instead, rely on government to defend us, (1) we will need to increase the police presence significantly - try getting Baltimore City PD to respond to a burglary; (2) everyone will need to get used to a much more intrusive government and be ready to surrender significant personal freedoms unrelated to the right to own a gun. Just as with freedom, security comes with a price. The tragedies need to end. While I generally am not in agreement with him on issues, I agree with Obama's statement that these types of shootings cannot become "something that just happens in the ordinary course of events." |
Re: Domestic terrorism
Hey Joe, after you figure out how to control the guns from going to crazy people then can you work on this issue: is there a way for some Muslims to stop hating us and committing violent acts against our society?

its intriguing to hear the media spin both mass shootings.
The California one...NBC and CNN have brought in experts and done pieces about gun control in less than 24 hours The Colorado one...both networks only talked about planned parenthood. Re: Domestic terrorism
I dont understand why we need AR-15s and other assault high-capacity rifles. I just dont get that. im sure if they did restrict assault rifles to stringent screening, the bad guys would just use semi automatic hand guns ....
reasonable laws that need to happen now: 1. screening for high capacity guns like AR 15s 2. screening for any person on FBI watch list who attempts to buy a gun 3. all guns must be registered a time of purchase 4. gun owners must report if their gun was stolen, lost or sold to someone else this wont make attacks not happen but their shouldnt be a zillion restrictions and requirements to drive a car vs zero restrictions to own a AR 15. ---------------------- Chico - it has been reported repeatedly that the male went to SA and came back w a bride and started growing a beard. i heard that about 6:15 pm in teh car last night less then 5 hours after the shootings. what you're saying reminds me of commentators and articles i read on the blaze. they have articles about how msnbc sent out a tweet that the attacks dont seem to be related to a planned parenthood 1 mile away. the conservative blaze commentators are screaming this is liberal msm agenda!!! .... its a tweet. we just had an AR 15 attack at a PP less than a week ago ..... also isnt making an article less then 24 hours after the attack focusing on a tweet from msm .... a conservative agenda to try and nit pick any little thing the msm does to try and corroborate their hard on to prove bias. .. its funny. they have this huge agenda to look for any agenda from msm. double standards at its finest. "ohh nooo, a tweet from msnbc!!!" of course, the fine ppl at the blaze also think the PP attack was just a bank robbery gone wrong by a obama voting liberal. they also think this attack yesterday was staged by Obama to go after their guns like newtown was saying "how calm everyone looked on the scene" and "how did so many federal agencies arrive so quickly, its like they were waiting for this to happen bc it was staged!!". like the benghazi thing. what fucking difference does it make it Obama did not say it was a terrorist attack within the 24 hours of it happening? |

OTM that article is titled "what we know" and it doesn't list those facts...? These are significant facts!
CNN/CNN.com is the most watched/view news org in the world...they should have this.. |
Re: Domestic terrorism
The reasons why this is terrorism at the least:
1. Seemed planned...from their movements, dress, and weapons to the soft target 2. Dressed in tactical gear. They were dressed like they were going to war, not like they were going to work 3. Explosives found at home, in the vehicle, at the center. folks, they didn't make these like mcgyvar on the fly 4. This was multiperson mass shooting...working as a team. this wasn't irrational, fly off the hook workplace violence. 5. They were comfortable engaging the police. They didn't try to flee, they chose to stay and fight...and die Reasons why this is Islamic Terrorist: 1. Muslim 2. Woman is involved, this is has become commonplace among Islamic terrorist. 3. Explosives used. they have a knack for this... 4. Recent attacks by other Muslims across the world hitting soft targets..patterns, copy cats, etc 5. Traveled to middle east recently. Folks, its no great secret a lot of these terrorists are going to the middle east for training, resources, and ideological support. I'll be surprised if this is found as just a workplace violent mass killing...too much planning |
Re: Domestic terrorism
OTM,
An AR is not really much more or less dangerous than any other semi-auto weapon. Try to eliminate it and Psycho Muslims AND Christians will just take "Next Weapon up". They will not under any circumstances...quit. When we outlawed some of the scary guns (See Tech 9). It was real scary looking, but basically a piece of shit that you could not hit a barn with........BUT the ignorant public loved it. NO real effect of any kind...... There is an old phrase that goes " When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". While not gospel, it's basically correct. If we want to have an impact, let's start by shutting down our Wide open borders. Seriously evaluate those who come across and SAY NO when appropriate. Additionally, I heard Bernie the Red (I think) suggest that a coalition needs to approach the NRA and try to get a dialogue going to involve them in making some changes....Very Smart It's time for some real workable solutions that may have a chance of success rather than the same Bullshit alarmist rhetoric........ |
Re: Domestic terrorism
Not really sure why some are so intent on rushing to judgment in this thread as to the motivation. Just let the investigation run its course and let all the facts come out.
Yes, i concede that. they would just end up using semi automatic hand guns instead. perhaps more dangerous .. but we do need ARs for "a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State". unfortunately the SCOTUS interpreted "militia" to mean any of age person. |
